but she does have ample opportunities, and that's what she was resented for here. she just had a much higher standard for allowing herself to grab those opportunities. and the only one that currently pass those standards is MC.

Nitpicking but why the hell dev turn MC into a Melee Fighter. Dude was a Mage, party lacks a Mage & Healer, they already have a 2H Warrior and 1H Fighter(possibly shield option later). Should have stayed a Mage or could have make him a Battlemage instead.
Plus he is an isekai scrub, doesn't make sense he and his body magically becomes proficient in melee fighting. Even if there's active melee skills, there's way more to melee fights than spamming active skills like stances, techniques & maneuvers, situational awareness, mental aptitude, conditioning, tactics and strategy. Much more logical having him as a Mage.

I understand your emphasis on intention: if the same action was taken: murder. but one case has intention (and hence premeditation) while the other had no intention (accident, spur of the moment, etc), then they are not punished to the same degree and not considered the same crime at all. there is a massive difference when intention is involved.

to expand on your example we should probably burn all pages containing law pertaining attempted crimes because only the done deed matters.

If someone tried to poison a fella but the dude vomits because the dose was to high, well lucky for the murderer, no attempted murder charge, the victim is still alive after all. We both know that's BS. The criminal code of every nation uses the word intent all the time because the intent matters.

System's are likely the worst trope to come out of this decade, it has started a trend of dogshit upon dogshit where no one is actually willing to use it creatively.
