Hey everyone,
I’m trying to export a DAZ character into Unreal Engine for use in my game, with the goal of having it run as optimized as possible. From what I’ve researched so far, the general advice seems to be:
DAZ → Blender (via Diffeomorphic) → Unreal Engine
…with most of the cleanup/optimization happening in Blender before importing into UE.
I came across this blog post and have been following it as a guide:
But I’m running into problems when creating UDIM Materials for the Genesis 9 mesh.
When I do it as described in the blog, my character has the head texture applied to the whole body:
here are the settings that I applied:
I've tried setting other parts of the character as "active" but then that texture gets applied in weird ways as well.
Unfortunately, I’m an absolute beginner in Blender, so I don’t know if this is a material setup issue, UV issue, or something else entirely.
So I’m looking for help in two ways:
I've been trying for weeks to get this character to run properly in Unreal, and I'm really running out of ideas.

- Specific issue: Any ideas on what might be going wrong with the UDIM materials for Genesis 9?
- Bigger picture: If anyone knows of a (detailed) working DAZ to Unreal workflow (with optimization in mind) that’s up to date and beginner-friendly, I’d really appreciate any resources, guides, or advice you can share.
