Hello all, my name is Dan White
I’m a JavaScript expert with 27 years of experience. I can quickly learn any language (e.g., Python).
I started at 10 (with the advent of the Commodore 64). Since 1998, I’ve been doing web development, primarily using Java, JavaScript, and Node. For the last 15 years, I’ve been doing dedicated front-end web development (React, Angular, others), also getting into TypeScript along the way. I’ve mostly worked in e-commerce, education (Book to web conversion), and banking. I’ve been working on game design for about 30 years with nothing developed yet, mostly non-erotic but more erotic in the last 5 years. I’ve been on a quest to have a full-feeling RPG experience in about an hour of game time.
For the last year, I’ve been working on an erotic game with a female protagonist, web-based, JavaScript with React to start, and plays like a deck builder (tabletop game) with the possibility of porting it to Unity in the future. I was planning to hire writers and artists at some point. The problem is that I’ve been in between jobs for about a year and a half and need income.
I’m still job hunting, but I’m putting my own game on hold. And I wonder if anyone needs a programmer who is very good at ensuring things don’t go poorly. After doing this for over 27 years, I know good architecture and testing practices, and making sure that the programming goes faster, not slower as the application grows is a main priority for me.
When I first started programming, I used C and C++ so I could ramp up on those. I also have Java experience, which is C# adjacent.
I’m looking for paid work, but I’m willing to discuss it, and I would like to help someone fix their programming issues.
