RPGM - Completed - Jellyfish's Life [v1.44] [Tail Aki]

Linear, with a reliable rhythm to the day/night cycle. The days felt tedious in the mid-to-late game, and tended to be something where a faster skip would have been appreciated. Characters and art are good.

Its yet another cohabitation game to add to the massive pile on the continent, so here's my review.

The story is fairly vanilla stuff. You're a hawker with a massive debt pile trying to run a restaurant with a big breasted employee. At some point of time you will fuck those massive jugs because obviously what else is there to do other than make money and fuck the nearest humanoid female. Yeah, far as japan goes, this is just another tuesday; score girls whilst balancing massive debts.

Gameplay is basically train the girl into being the best waitress in the world whilst managing her load, stress, and your own unrelenting libido. Make enough money to meet the quota every 7 days or die. Only thing of note here is at very least this minigame is not difficult and easily cheesed by using the smile button for every customer. Yes, this is grind at its very essence, but I didnt find it especially annoying so let's chalk it as inoffensive.

H gameplay is divided into the 'free sex' mode and the typical VN spacebar masher. The former requires you to make her cum within a set time, whereas the latter is just storymode clicker where you spacebar until it ceases to be. Not a big fan of timers, and even less a fan of rating systems, because there's nothing more enmasculating than a girl telling you how well youre doing in bed. This bitch aint gonna be pleased unless an ocean of cum covers the very floor she stands on.

Far as the artwork is concerned, its okay, decent stuff overall. Youre either a fan of watermelon jugs or you can close the game and sit in the corner. The story does demand that the girl has hair so unkempt that you can only wish a comb can be bought in-game, but alas it is what it is.


CONCLUSION...

There's really not much to say thats exceptional about this game because it does what it says on the tin, there wasnt anything annoying but theres also not anything worth to give it more than the first playthrough. It is about as vanilla as it gets, but that doesnt mean the game is bad or you shouldnt play it. Much have been bandied about this being bland but bland is still better than hot shite.

The concept remains good though, and had there been more girl variety, perhaps I wouldve given it a better rating, because more than once I found myself just wishing that you can swap your infinitely hotter younger sister in.

Recommended if you have a thing for big titted girls, and just wanna chill around a decently paced game.

Pure vanilla linear VN about hiring an ex-neet girl with some simple and slow """plot""" on background with very grindy everyday loop. The most valuable "mechanic" in this game is ability to skip repeatable every day dialogues. Yes, girl is cute, honka-badonkas are big, but everything else is mediocre at best.

It's pretty nice. I didn't finished yet. The story is common, the debt shark is pretty meh, its just a excuse for the story.
the minigames can be repetetive, but the free sex mode is interesting. I would say that, if the main character wasn't voiced, the game would be a big meh.

Have you ever played a game that's so incredibly vanilla that it's actually boring because of it? This is one such game.

The girl isn't terrible overall. She's alright, although with a very bland personality. The story is as generic as can be. And unfortunately the game loop is the deal breaker. It's just a real hassle having to go through the same motions, over and over and over again, without much variation whatsoever. A new day starts, you have a handful of actions, you click train on one of the 5 abilities to level it up, you reduce stress when it goes above 50%, you pick one of the 5 abilities based on the NPC dialogues to get the most points, then you go home and you jerk off or fuck her to reduce horniness which impedes your business, and you repeat. And repeat. And repeat. And again... my god, it's so mind numbingly boring!

The art is a solid 3/5.
The game loop gets a 0.
The story is 2/5.
The sex scenes are also around 2/5.
The voice acting, as much as I don't care about it, is competent at 3/5.

There's not much variation to the sex scenes and the extremely repetitive nature of the boring daily work loop really overstays its welcome in no time at all. If only the minigame was better and more interesting, and if the game was structured in a way where the progression between the two from employer and employee to boyfriend and girlfriend was more detailed and less abrupt, with more shown sexual tension instead of just MC's 3 lines of dialogue.

Even if you're a diehard vanilla fan, you can consider this game to be a safe skip due to its underdeveloped gameplay loop. Besides that, as already mentioned, it really doesn't do anything unique or interesting.

4-5 hours in and I'm enjoying the game so far, the game isn't too focused on having the sex stuffs put out too fast at the beginning of the game until day 13-14 so it's a nice change of pace for my usual stuffs. I also love the typical romance things in the game, making me wish I have a gf like this, MC, you lucky bastard.

Similar to the game Runaway Girl and also My Neighbors Wife 2, where you go to work then have sex with the girl. The difference here is this game has a management gameplay where you manage the restaurant and teach the girl skills. I confess this game has very good horny meter. The gameplay is fun but I also fapped so hard lol. We are here to play and fap, right?

-Very grindy. Must use editor to edit the saves, because the grind is too much, it kills your boner.

I wish we can get the girl pregnant, like games like Aunt in Countryside. I wish there are more sex positions, too. The details page is nice, I like the changes when the progress bar increases for her body.

If you liked the first impression you got, you won't regret playing this. At most criticizes the parts you dislike.

I feel the score of 3.0 is to low for this game, giving the wrong impression.

And i still wanna give 5, despite any shortcomings. because i feel it's worth it.

It's been a long time since I actually properly read the story, and enjoyed it to boot.

This is my impression.

At the start of the game it was a 4/5, but there is too little variation in both the gameplay and h-scenes. This is for sure more VN than a sex/simulation/management game. I actually enjoyed the story until the end where the translations totally falls apart and descends into poetry.

Good art and the uncle's theme song totally slaps. That's about all the good points. The gameplay is repetitive, time management with all the skills and horny meter is annoying and the progressing in each skill is way too slow for a porn game. I like some build up before sex scenes and this game does it pretty well. But the overall gameplay feels like a chore and in the end there aren't enough variation in sex scenes to keep you engaged.

I have to say this is one of the best hentai game I've ever played. The story is not too bad, enjoyable, especially the progress from stranger to lover is interesting. The best part is sex scene, there is a lot of things to do and the H-status is incredible.

I wanted to love this, god knows I do, but I cant recommend this game in good faith.

The story: feels very unfinished. It is like the author wrote the big events, and then forgot to add in the connecting tissue. I didnt feel like I saw the girl slowly blossom, she just went from shutin to being timid but functional. The protagonist is pretty blank slate, and the twist is just retarded. You have this page in which you can see the girl her body develop, which is a nice idea, but it only has 3 stages and the grind is insane. Every part just goes from "I dont fele it" "I like it" "I love it". I didnt notice any actual changes during sex though. Gran ende at least made the sex scenes change as her body developed.

The gameplay has potential, but again, it feel rushed. You cant develop the building, or get upgrades. The only thing you can do is improve the recipes and train the girl. Both are very repetitive and grindy. I was always waiting for the game to add something to speed things up, but it never did. I couldnt shop for books or unlock new options once she became a girlfriend.

Finally the grind. One thing I dont like of a lot of JRPGs is that they replay an animation every single time. Are you killing slimes to get a few levelups so you can defeat a boss? Well, youre spending 90% of your time just watching long-ass animations because the developer spent a lot of time making them and youre sure as hell not going to skip them. This game has the same issue. At some point I knew every guest and what they wanted. Still, they spout 5 lines before you can click the button. Start of the day? solid 30 seconds of repeat text+a slideshow of buildings showing the MC moving to the store. Im spending 10 seconds per ingame day on making decisions, and 3 minutes going through the motions. Doing something simple like improving her skills requires you to train her like 20 times on it. So thats 200 seconds of clicking, and 60 minutes of useless shit.

Finally, MC has a cute bratty sister, but for some reason you cant get your hikki gf to pin her down while you teach the brat to respect her elders.

PS. I appreciate what the translator wants to do, but the combination of not knowing japanese, and not knowing english makes it of questionable value. I dont need an indepentently certified translator that majored in Japanese for my porn games, but simple things like "I'm hurry" instead of "I'm in *a* hurry" is such basic English it really sticks out. And personally I always get triggered by "anal" if its used to refer to her ass/butthole. Reminds me too much of the broken english on pornhub.

The game is decent, it's a light hearted, vanilla story. I really liked the artwork but it's kind of a shame that there's little to no animation. Another good point is that the girl is voiced and the VA is pretty talented. Outside of that the gameplay sadly is very repetitive and boring. If you're picking this game for the first time do yourself a favor and MAX Lv up the Smile option. It's the only real stat that actually matters.
Also whatever you do never pick the doggy style scene on the weekends.
It lags like crazy and the weekend usually last a lot more than the regular days, I was tempted to take a star just for that.
Still, if you have a few hours to spare and like vanilla content this one is pretty good.

i gonna to make a short review ,i true love this dev's game and wish that the dev will make the game a bit longer , sadly the "longer" part is super repetitive , it is grinny , just think like recent "Living with sister" but even more boring than that with next to no challenge or ramdom event whatsoever , the concept and story/drama is strong but the gameplay is too boring , there nothing to do , if the dev had made this game just as short like other before i would have vote 4 star , this is a waste of time

Tldr: It's a sweet, vanilla game unfortunately marred with repetitive, grindy and somewhat boring/lacking of content but, fortunately, is not that hard and there's an easy mode exist to make it even easier.

This is a good/descent game for those who like vanilla content, as the relationships between the MC and the Main Heroine is very sweet and wholesome. I was surprised how the game focuses on it, unexpected but a pleasant surprise to be sure. Unfortunately the main 'game' of the game is not that good, a combination of trainer and management with a bit of guessing games, it became old and boring too fast. Fortunately for us, it's not a hard or punishing game, heck if you want to you can remove all 'game over' aspect of it with an 'Easy Mode', or you can just cheat.

The sex scenes of the game is nothing special but not bad, tho the VA is quite descent so that's some extra spice. There aren't that many tho, so if you're looking for sex scenes haven this is not the game for you.

There's no NTR as far as I know, so this is not for the NTR fans. I was a bit disappointed that we can't have intercourse with the sister as far as I know but hey, you take what you can get.

Overall, this is a good/descent game that I think worth a try.

I went to play this game because of the management, but I stayed until the end for the story. If you're going to play expecting high sex scenes or high levels of naughtiness, this isn't the game. The management part, it starts out cool... but after 12 repetitions, doing the same things it will get really boring... The voice action is good, the CGs are too. Now about the sex scenes, there aren't many or many variations, it's that good old sex simulator. I may be saying so far that the game is well made, but nothing special, but what got me was the story. I have a weakness for silly romance and this game gave me everything I like.

One of those cases when bad gameplay outweighs any other plus.
Art quality is very nice, overall art direction is A+, sound is pleasant, there are no bugs or lag.
Yet the gameplay is so boring it doesn't matter how good other parts are. By the 13th ingame day i kinda lost hope. Every day is the same. you don't need to manage much (just which stat to upgrade and when to rest) and serving minigame is painfully easy.
Can't recomend.
