Well, there are workarounds for that. Anyway, here it is:

Development Blog #138

Hi, everyone.
I've been re-rendering images from Day 1 in the past few weeks. Have probably half of it re-rendered, adding the new Birch model and setting up the edits I want to make. As expected it takes time. The old lighting setups don't work, because the render engine has been updated a few times since then. That's not a big issue, because I have working lighting setups for most environments from the recent updates. So I just load the characters in a newer scene, adjust some light positions for the camera angle and it works. Of course I have to re-render all images in a series, because they don't look exactly the same as before. The bigger issue is the clothes, as always with DAZ Studio. Just loading an old scene and it often has issues with the clothes, but when I add the slightly changed Jessica shape and more clipping and issues show up. So that takes time to fix. The new models, like Birch, have to basically be reposed from the scratch. I changed one side character, he was initially called Jerry and I had some plans for him, but I scrapped them at one point. Changed him with a new tech guy, with an newer base figure, he'll be involved at some point.
So I'll be making the edits and re-rendering as the game progresses, instead of doing everything now. This means it will be a few updates, before I add them all to the game. The updated images I will add as I make them, but the script changes will wait for when they're all ready to be added to the package.
Now I'm back to working on the new content. I changed the way I do thing, and am working on the script first. Already have the first scene that ends the day almost ready. Trying to see if that approach will work better.
That's all for now. I'll keep you updated on how things go. Have fun, and thanks for the support.

In my opinion, totally unnecessary re-rendering because the images where already excellent. This is a level of perfectionism that at this stage seems damaging. He could have done it when it's finished, because he has been really slow in the last two years, so this is alarming. We have to deal with it, so I just hope he's able to end it quickly and focus fully to moving the story forward. Honestly, it seems he's faster than last months, so let's hope this renewal process won't delay much the next update.
The new Birch looks more aggressive, we'll see. I don't get if this new Jerry character is that old fart with glasses at the table. I personally prefer not because we already have a lot of old farts in this VN and Jessica deserves more young and pleasant dudes.
I'm glad he fixed that NPC.

It's bugged me since the beginning.

Does he really think we care that he remade the old fart? Why are you wasting your precious time with characters we don’t give a fuck about!

Why do some devs do this? Just finish the game and start a new one.

even that stoper occasionally visits here he won't answer.

his last post is from year ago.
Yeah but I don't have access to his Discord at the moment. I could make the low tier subscription but PayPal is not accepted by Patreon and my debit card is expired.
I think he reads here once in a while so he'll get the notification. Otherwise who has access can notify him because I wrote him another bug a few days ago.

As anyone found other bugs?

He is doing the same shit we have seen other milkers do when they either have no fuckin idea on how to proceed with the story or simply want to drag the next update as long as possible and that is remaking/ re rendering past updates. I already knew he won't be releasing the next update till winter of next year and this unnecessary dev blog solidified it.

Get ready to see the next many dev blogs where he will gloat about how good the new re rendered scenes look and drop a few teasers but won't announce any release date.

Or just finish season 1, especially now when Jessica got MrParker and start and a season 2 after.
Judging from other reworks I found them not very useful especially for a top quality project like this one . You can never catch tech development. By the time he finishes it would be almost outdated.
Just start a season 2 now

This game is truly exceptional! In my opinion, it's one of the best and undeniably so. It offers a captivating storyline, diverse situations, and near-perfect, mature dialogue. However, on the final day of this version, the developer chose a very conventional scenario—Jessica in a stunning red dress, paired with undeniably steamy scenes, though they lacked a certain spice. For the long-awaited climax, it would have been preferable to explore more creative and unconventional settings—perhaps in a gazebo, in the woods, or even in the restroom of a bar. It's up to the developer to envision such dynamic scenes.
