I wanted to love this because it's a parody of a series I genuinely enjoy but I stay unimpressed. I'm not going to pull any punches. The gameplay is quite bad, and I've suffered through some bad games to see the adult content in it. I even recommend some people to play through those bad games because the art is worthwhile, but this one is really only for diehard Naruto fans.
For starters, all facets of the game are grindfests. Training ground activity is monotonous and boring. All stats should be improved at once, at a margin much higher than the game currently allows. That change alone would make a world of difference. Mission combat is stiff, slow and doesn't feel finished. The idea to have combat in a parody like this, great idea. The execution? Shuriken to the dick. Combat is needlessly complex, broken into attacks, skills and items which is mind boggling when just the basic feel of it is quite clunky.
So that's the combat gameplay, what about the art? Well the problem isn't the visual novel, basic standing pose of characters which look quite good. You know, the ones on the title screen itself, but almost all of the rest of it is not so good. Four Elements Trainer is a game where the art can get wonky, especially with some of the challenging poses but the work typically is polished. Jikage is a lot more amateurish and rough around the edges. Backgrounds are sometimes screencaps or really basic like your bedroom. As you strip away the clothes from the standing poses, the art looks more like a rough nsfw edit. The sex scenes are a mixed bag and half of it deviates a lot from the art style of what it is parodying. Ayame, Anko, Shizune and Kurenai have significantly better static art but more than half of the game does not look as good as this. It lacks polish. Is it worth your time?
The more frustrating part of the content, is that you must repeat the same x-rated scenes over and over. It's tied into the other part of the gameplay, corrupting the girls. Lust and submission stats are part of these scenes and you must repeat them. Hints are available at the ramen shop or the quest progress page but they don't always have something. You will have to crank out the walkthrough. This is the type of game that could really use being broken up into chapters, or a more linear "go here" or "I should do this today" text on screen.
Two stars. P.S. I love the little dog avatar of the developer and I hope feedback helps on future projects. Best of luck.
