Ren'Py - Completed - JinPingMei [v1.0] [ititnenon]

It's beautiful to see, the story is fine, but the gameplay is not so good. Too repetitive. In PC version at the end of the game there are some errors that I couldn't finish it (I give presents to girls but the score stops rising).

Whilst the translation is undoubtedly screwy at points, and thus the storylines are not always that easy to follow.

The animations are well made with little to no clipping and even sensible limb movement, which is rare in "low budget" style games like this.

The characters are very well made and are cute, similar but not so similar as to be indistinguishable. The outfits are varied and nice to look at.

There is a simple progression system in the game for both two core "skills" and your relationship with the different girls. The skills part is nicely made. The relationships with the girls are also well made, but it's not entirely clear to me what some of the steps involved. For example, for one girl when I reached the max relationship level the "hint" went from "reach 800 relationship" to "finished", without anything actually happening.


All in all, I recommend the game. I finished it in an evening or two.

This is my first playthrough, so I think I missed a lot of content. That was the main problem, though.

What was good:
1. very nice models. Chinese beauty is severely underrepresented on this site.
2. not much text to click through (unintentional, though)

Bad:
1. it's not very clear what to do. once you click on the blob on the top left, you realized you missed your chance to meet the girl and impress her on the fifth day after some event.
2. you click a lot on the map for no reason at all. the pharmacy is annoying as hell, so is meeting women and then having to leave them because there is no action available.
3. the bank and the casino are also annoying with cheats and all.
4. I have the feeling i got locked out of everything.
5. the times of the day are unclear, and meeting the girls depend on them.
6. the mechanics of getting around your own home are horrible. you open the door and then you close it, then you get out of the same door... just confusing.

Overall, I think this game is unfinished, despite the completed tag.

Not for me. The female characters that I've seen so far had pretty much the exact same body type, nothing interesting in that regard, nothing new, nothing different. I don't care about the grind, you can turn on cheats in the casino. But yeah regarding that spoiler section, I just don't need that in my escapism. Thanks.
