Just making a Thread to warn others of my current situation and my Discord hack.

The guy uses Itch.io as a portal to create "Games" which are programs of malicious intentions, the purpose to gain access to your stuff, like in my case, my Discord Account being hacked by said program and now can roam free and mess with my Discord Account. Do NOT download any of his programs. Report him.

This has made me VERY leery of Itch.io and i might stop using it because of this.

I am very much aware. But so far, i have gotten scott free of consequences. You may as well say i got too relaxed. But yeah, i'll just keep my Collection on itch.io for now and avoid anything else till it is sure to be safe.

Well. To be honest, i was searching for something interesting. I found something that i wanted to give it a shot, sure, it was a free game. But i have found plenty of free stuff on itch.io that doesn't have horrible consequences.

It is surprising people go through the effort just to be meaninglessly destructive and stupid. It says how much some people devolve into meaningless existence just to make others suffer because you either get away with it or cause you think it's funny.

My friend showed me that the dipshit that got his hands on my Discord Account, deleted EVERY Server, except for the one i made. Like.......what's his end goal? What's the point? Just to make the effort to recover everything annoying...? I don't see the point of doing any of this. Might as well put a gun to your head and trigger it in the same fashion on how one's actions have no meaning.

Make sure to always be vigilant of where and what you download. Be sure to have a strong anti virus protection program always. and furthermore, a recommendation would be to use a VPN of some sort, VPNs ensure safety when browsing the internet.

Just be happy it only extended to petty vandalism and not something worse.

That i use. NordVPN. Keep in mind, it REALLY doesn't matter, if the file you are opening which containts the malicious program, which ye has no idea it really was considering it's Filesize didn't look suspicious for a very small pixel erotic game i wanted to try, did throw me off as hell. Since the FILE access your computer directly and the Anti-Virus, which i have none, i got rid of the one i kept paying a massive price for that kept becoming more of a bother to have or use and i do not want pay stupid amounts for it. VPN doesn't help much neither in that case.

I'll have to consider finding a friggen Anti-Virus now, since this took me by surprise. And i happen to be PRETTY suspect and distrusting of most.

For example, right click on the file or folder and hover over Bitdfender from the context menu. There are 2 options in that menu. Select the option "scan with Bitdefender." I have provided 2 pictures that add clarity on this. Let me know if you are still unsure.

You can get it for 1 device yes. if you prefer that. Bitdefender is very costly, but its one of the best anti virus protection programs out there, and detects 99.51% of viruses.

Doing it now. Was looking. I was on the wrong address, was using UK. Since i was searching for antiviruses, it listed as the "best in 2023" and i got those up. Getting my BitDefender now. That's gonna be 448,74 NOK, which is 39,99 dollars, exactly. Costy. But at least i have cut the costs a bit down to the absolute bare minimum/required.

I would like to add that he has changed his name on itch.io a few times already. Started with habro or something like that. So it'd be better to have him reported and his IP Address denied from access, a way to make him NEVER be able to be on itch.io after this, so no one else will fall victim, at least on itch.io.

And it could've been worse. But i closed the program before it got any farther than Discord Account. There was this "Castlevania" like game i downloaded from him which caused all this.
