HTML - Just One More Chance [v0.72] [Lotrum]

While this game gets some of the core mechanics right (the relative balancing act of different stats/activities), has a huge list of achievements, a wide selection of LIs, and a reasonably high percentage of good scene choices... Unfortunately, it is simply not that fun after the first few hours.

There are several fundamental issues:
1. It's just too much of a grind. Even playing on the easiest mode, it takes a ton of grinding, just clicking through the same options over and over. You start off carrying over very little of your stats, as well as heavily diminishing returns on stat gains from grinding, and the difficulty setting only affects love gains, not stat gains.
1a. OK, so there are cheats, I went ahead and used the stats cheat. Even then there is still a ton of work you need to do to go through the sequence of each girl's story, including various interactions / dependencies between multiple girls, etc. If you want to complete all the achievements on a save, you still have to do multiple runs where you repeat all of that so you can redo choices. Of course, if you "just" want to read through different scenes, you can "just" make use of multiple saves at every branch...
1b. This is all made worse by lack of a gallery system. (Unless there is one that only unlocks towards the end, which would be awful for a game that takes this long to complete.)
2. The writing is completely forgettable. The game is all Porn Logic, the story and characters are all paper thin, and the actual quality of the dialogue and descriptions is equally poor. There's a superficial diversity of LIs in both appearance and archetype, but it really doesn't make a difference when all of them have the same porny 1% trope intro into 99% grindfest + porn logic sex scenes. I never felt invested in any character, storyline, or scene. In fact, the MC has no real goals, and the main story is basically just "he fucks girls in time loop." You never feel like he makes real progress towards being a different person, and nothing really happens except sex.
3. There are a substantial number of minor bugs that aren't that hard to encounter. They don't break the game, but considering you will repeat the same actions hundreds of times, every bug you encounter is a papercut that never heals.

Altogether, the game is structured in a way that the main activity (stat grinding) is a chore instead of fun, and the rewards (story progression / sex scenes) are unsatisfying. There are much better games in this genre that don't focus as heavily on clicking through the exact same things hundreds/thousands of times, and build tension with real payoff. I don't think it's realistic that a game this large will receive major rewrites, but it could at least really use (1) some better systems for starting new runs that keep more stats and more importantly story progress, and (2) an actual gallery, not only would it let you replay favorite scenes, but it'd also function as a much better UI to keep track of your unlock progress compared to a gigantic list of 200+ achievements that you have to Ctrl+F through.

TLDR: Skip it unless your ideal game is endless grinding to complete achievements, and you would enjoy writing/scenes that are basically just vanilla porn with different flavor text.

This game is ADDICTIVE. I have never played a roguelite porn game with such a meticulous stat system that still A) feels intuitive and B) makes me feel excited to start it up again as soon as I finish a game. There's just enough difficulty to make it feel rewarding when you unlock something new, and the achievement and experience system will keep you coming back for more until you see all content.

The UI is great and I didn't encounter any bugs. The models are very hot. The videos are perfectly embedded with the dialogue, to the point that the dialogue you're reading will often be said by the actress.

The one thing I'd almost ding it on is that it doesn't have the strongest storytelling. It starts off with you being a believable virgin struggling in some experimental project, but the gameplay eventually outpaces the story to the point that you'll eventually be slinging dick to 3 women at once on day 7, and pretty much forgetting about the present-day story arc.

But, hey, not every porn game has to be literary fiction. Sometimes it's nice to just have fun.

This is one of the best HTML games that has with real porn and overall. The gameplay loop is great, its a porn roguelike. Yes you need to grind a little, but just set the difficulty to the easiest possible and you will have fun with no problems. Also cool that the dev allows non paid users to access paid content if you help document the game or debug it.

I enjoy the time loop meta-progression, but felt myself having to grind a bit too much as opposed to learning pathways, though it was fun to learn how best to approach each character, and optimize the run through knowledge

I played this game on the very easy mode and collected all 220 achievements (save file says 219, but more about that later).
At first I didn't know what to do. The hints in your room just help you introduce all the characters, nothing else. So calling it "hint" is in my opinion a little misleading.
Since this is a game which requires replayability, the UI should be simple and clean, which it mostly is. The only bad part about it, which I remember is is going to Jane's/Olivia's home. "Go outside -> Jane/Olivia -> take a bus or walk -> you arrive and spent x energy or money -> options". The arrive part is repetetive and can be cut out or combined with something else as it has no important information.
I found mainly 2 bugs. One where you softlock a character for that playthrough and one where it takes an achievement back and you cant get it back. The one missing requires me to buy/watch a scene with a scientist. I did it and after completing a new playthrough it got taken. Rewatching the scene doesn't bring it back.

All in one it is a good and nice game

This is one of the best real porn HTML games out there, no doubt. Being one of the few games with good New Game+ design, it's a must play if you're into those type of games.

Characters are fine. Could be better with more background story going on, but since it's a simulation where you're the only focus, it's understandable.

Progression feels not too grindy, balanced and well rewarded. With quiet different stats that you need to keep in mind in order to progress and decide your movements. Most actions you take only affect the stats positively, which helps with the grind.

In my opinion, in the middle of a sea of HTML trash games that we have in this site, this one is really worth your time. Even if you're not into real porn ones, only for the mechanics I think you should check it out.

For a real porn game this is well executed and designed. Several difficulty levels for people who want some gameplay or people who would rather rush through the content a bit further. So far developer appears to be updating at a regular rate and the content is not all the same videos/actresses you usually see in the genre. Even though there is an AI tag it appears to be limited to backgrounds. This shows great potential and I can only hope that development doesn't slow to a crawl to the point where it feels like they are not completing the game in order to milk as much as they can out of this one. So far though that doesn't appear to be the case.

Easily the best real porn game on this site, and definitely top 10 for me overall.

The grind is real at the beginning but it picks up after just a few runs. The game is designed such that some girls are easier to access and hit achievements at lower thresholds while others require you to unlock more stuff for a while and come back when you're stronger. Early on you just focus on 1-2 girl's lines and you'll make progress quick.

Different girls have different tastes, so you can focus even more on the ones you're targeting for a specific run.

Already has plenty of content to "feel" mostly complete although more content wouldn't feel bad.

If I had to critique anything, it would probably be a little more transparency with where the numbers are coming from. Idk why sexing some girls gives 0.13 sexp and another girl gives 0.14 or if it's pure random. Do threesomes give more on average? No clue. Late game you kinda just go around sexing everyone that you have time for.

For a first game, this is far more fleshed out than the average game on this site. Kudos to the dev.

Hands down the best Real Porn game I've played in the last few years. Love the slow-burn approach and clip selection. The grind fits the pace of the game very well and i love how you can still discover new interactions even after the nth replay.

The preview screenshots of the girls are pretty misleading (one even looks AI generated!) and none of the girls on the titlecard are in the game...

But I had an absolute blast playing this! The stat grinding isn't too bad as you'll constantly discover new scenes and situations, unlock new achievement (for permanent stat boosts).
Seeing an option that was previously unlocked after days of grinding be open by default on a new run felt super satisfying!

It's a bit weird to say but this is a game-ified game!

Let's put it this way, I've never reviewed anything in my 7 long years of lurking and jerking here.

But this game? This game just utterly tickles my fancy in a way no other game has.

It's cast? Fantastic. It's ideology and the way it runs? Supreme. It keeps me wanting to come back literally every version even if not much content is added because it genuinely makes me happy and it's easy to tap into the "bank".

Thank you to the Dev, thank you to those who actively support this project as it's an amazing one.

Give it a try, it can start a bit slow but it's truly fucking amazing in a lot of ways.

Overall a really great game.

I love the progression aspect of it and after playing through it multiple times i still come back to it. The pace of the Game is excellent, slow at first and getting more and more powerful as you advance with each new loop. Achievements are a nice addition as they give you something to work towards. Been playing it since 0.55 and the game has gotten better with each update.

I hope the Dev keeps up the good work and I'm excited to see what the next updates bring to the table.

One of my favorites games of this genre, the mechanic of the days and loop are GREATLY created, the achivements + bonus are a thing that a like very much and its very well implemented, u should definitely try the game for the mechanics, the large number of scenes and characters (and I have never needed guides because of how intuitive the game is)

This is probably my favorite game on this site. i remember when i first found it and the live a small section repeat with achievement bonus and repeat was such a good and fun mechanic done well. the achievements give me something to try to do while enjoy some tasty videos. so thanks. if i wasnt poor i'd give you money

A good game, though it takes a long time and many replays to advance. The title is apt: I keep wanting to do one more playthrough to see what else is there, just beyond what I've already seen. It updates super-regularly, which helps. Covers a lot of different interests. I both enjoy this game and am mad at it, and myself, for spending so much time on it to see 75% of the same stuff each time. It's deviously good, I guess?

Probably the best real porn game on the site. Unlocking stuff and finding new scenes is enjoyable. The fact it has achievements that give you plenty of goals to work towards gives this tons of replayablity.

If you, like me, are turned off by porn games that tout their "progression system" or "engaging gameplay" or whatever, this game actually threads the needle and is both a porn game and has engaging gameplay and fun progression system.

Most sandbox games (so excluding visual novels, where the sex scenes are just rewards) fall into two camps:
1. games where doing scenes progresses the game & levels you up, but because of some ridiculous magic premise, like your cock is magical or whatever
2. games where doing scenes progresses the game & levels you up, but because you're a literally a brothel manager and training whores (which makes you a cuck, sorry)

This game rises above these 3 failure modes. Technically it's a magical premise because of the simulation framing device, but the actual story & content are just about a guy in a modern college trying to get laid, you progress by being more attractive and becoming better at sex, which you do by having lots of sex. Perfect.

Good gimmick, looping simulation getting 'stronger' each time. So it's best to focus one girl/stat combo, not because you like them, but to get the exp bonus so next run you are ready to tackle a 'higher level' girl.

Personally the real porn aspect is not bad, but decent art (even edited AI) and writing always work better for games, imo.

I'd give it a 3.5 if I could. But defiantly deserves people giving the game a shot.

The game play is very grind and the loop is by its nature very repetitive. There are bugs with the experience menu and some actions/scenes are bugged (first math class with Grace after a new start is broken). The porn is good though and I like the overall concept. I'm not sure how balanced it is (not a great judge of that sort of thing) but sometimes it feels like you're just wasting time in-game.

Good game. However.. the NPC characters don't have a life outside of the player character and the occasional threesome where they interact with another NPC. So the game does not feel lived in by the NPCs. I get that the player character is in a simulation, but the user doesn't need to feel the same. A cohesive narrative or meta-narrative will do wonders for this game. I think the dev has skill because I like the design and leveling up system. You are rewarded for playing the game again and again.
