VN - Others - Completed - Kanon [Key]

In all my years of gaming, Kanon was the first game ever to make me cry. And I cried rivers too. It is that good!

This Visual Novel affected me so much that I, who normally only play games once, have played it partly or completely tons of times. It is simply awesome.

Its story is, needless to say, fantastic. And it manages to mix all kinds of emotions into it. You will laugh, you will cry, you will feel a ton of emotions, but most importantly: You will enjoy

One of the many wonderful things about this game is the abundance of decisions that shape your character. While Visual Novels normally only have a small to moderate number of key choices, this one has hundreds of different decisions in it, ranging from very minor to very improtant, which really makes you feel like YOU are the main character and can decide your life however you like.

The soundtrack is truly sublime and each track extremely fits the situation you are in. Simply hearing some tracks after beating the game will invoke feelings of happiness/sadness/etc from you. The art style is also unique and, while dated, is still extremely memorable.

Needless to say, Kanon is beyond highly recommended to anyone who wants to play truly excellent games that they will remember years and years into the future .

It was truly a great experience, my only other run in with key was the Clannad anime, this is the first visual novel they put out and it shows, this is far from perfect, but i found so much to like and enjoy, and it made me feel a lot of emotions (as you'd expect from the company) that none of the flaw really hindered my enjoyment.

The heroines while pretty unoriginal are really likeable, the plot for each route is good for the most part, the drama is sometimes a bit weird in the way it's done or brought up.

The art is what it is, i just played this in 2020 and i personally really like it, i know the majority of people don't and that it is memed to no end but i genuinely like it.

I had always heard that the porn scene in key games were terrible and they were, very short and uninteresting, but the worst part is how they happen out of nowhere, feels like there is no build up and they're just there for the hell of it, simply to make this a porn game.

The music is really good but there is a noticeable lack of track overall, especially felt toward the end of my time with it, the voice acting is top notch, Makoto And Ayu voices are really outstanding.

Worried at first as it appeared to be rather basic and unorignal, i ended up really loving it, a visual novel truly worthy of the title of classic, absolutely recommended !

This is a classic Visual Novel from Key studio, I believe it came out between Air and Kanon. There is an emotional heart breaking story here, no matter which path you go down. You are going to feel for these characters. But, the flip side is that you get one sex scene per character, it is generally not as well written as the rest of the character story, and, unlike the rest of the game, the sex scenes are not voiced. I imagine this is because they were using main stream voice actors for this who did not want to have fake orgasms on their resume. I would recommend playing the game before watching the anime as I wound up doing the opposite, and got a lot of content spoiled. (And watching a scene that you've already seen fully animated in still frames is a bit of a letdown) So, if you are looking for a good story with a decent protagonist and some highly eclectic characters around you, and would like to check out a piece of gaming history, this is recommended. If you are looking for a game to fap to, this is not the one for you.
