I've been going through it slowly during weekends, have 100%'d 1, 2 and BB (which was much shorter) with 3 being my next goal. As far as I can tell the Chronicle Teller is just the first 5 games summarized in-universe. I considered translating it myself off Translator++ but the script files for these games turns out to be quite old, apparently they're written in KiriKiri but the tools I found online don't support the specific file type (.arc) that the games use. So I've been making do with OCR translation for essential menu controls and dialogue choices, following some old JP only walkthroughs I found online (though the main one I've been using doesn't have one for Kansen3 for some reason, had to scour even harder for that one). If anyone can get the scripts open and work with T++ then I'd give edited MTL translation a go.

The complete box also has a weird (what I assume to be) anti-piracy measure where it can only work on the directory you specifically installed it from the executable. Which is a shame since I decided to install it on a separate hard drive and now I can't access the games without the drive plugged in, even on a copied version. Have not, or rather can't be asked to find a fix for this behavior so I'm just living with it.

As for the plot, why??? It's Kansen. There's a virus, people get it, they do the nasty. That's about all you need to know for 90% of the games' story. The only difference is setting. 1's a school, 2's a mall, 3's a city, you get the deal. From what I've bothered to translate there's nothing else worth looking into. What's funny is that the anime adaptations of the series' games don't follow any of the possible routes at all, they just kinda do their own thing with the given characters and setting. Kinda neat, I guess.
