This is definitively more than just a translation. The opening has been changed, there is more foreshadowing and some events are shown from the beginning that were clear much later in the original. There are also some new CG.
I just started and need to check whether the walk still applies. Not sure if I remember everthing 100% correct as my original playthrough is also some years ago and the story is complex and not really told in a linear way.
So probably worth a try.

I more-or-less 100%'ed the first "shell" on my own, like, 6 years ago (with no MC voice, iirc), and played a couple of hours of the second installment a little while later. I guess what I most wanted to know, if this re-re-hd-re-re-hd-re-release on Steam has butchered, over-localized translation or pretty much the same, and if things were added (if) at all - but seems to be that the differences are more substantial than I've thought.

Just checked on Steam, maybe the first impression is misleading as that was heavily modified according to the official statement.
