Karakara is more about the story, and less about the 18+. This is a short, cozy read, with nice productions values, that delivers pleasant slice of life, cutesy girls, and one overarching theme to think about. It's not great, and finishes way too quickly, but it does serve its purpose as (a more) wholesome entertainment.
Positive:
- Good voice acting; Cute girls; Solid way to spend some time; OST is varied for a short VN; Bilingual display (it's uncommon); Pleasant slice of life; Kemonomimis*** are explained within the setting (this takes a turn for the "fantastical").
Negative:
- It's way too short, I was still warming up to it when it finished; H-scenes are just fan service; The post-apocalyptic setting is supposed to be melancholic, but it didn't work for me; Without spoilers, the VN adds weird elements to the mix, that seem misplaced in this world.
Score: Karakara is a 6/10 and a decent short VN, but it left me unsatisfied. What's really boosting the score is the technical side of things, which is good for a short VN. Try it if you ever find yourself in need of relaxation, not release.
(Don't bother with the H-scenes, they are just an extra.)
*** If you want to get technical they are "animal girls", but the VN doesn't go there. They feel and look human, for the most part.
