No reason for her to say that if she's not working on getting him to turn on her
Well I've seen this scene a hundred times and I've never once thought this was the case. I am considering it now, though it still seems pretty unlikely that this is her intention.
And I definitely wouldn't go as far as to say "No reason for her to say that if she's not working on getting him to turn on her" though... I can immediately think of a few reasons at the top of my head lol but most likely of all is that it's just Alessandra doing what Alessandra loves to do the most... tormenting men. And this specific instance could be something of a unique case as it's somewhat a continuation of their previous conversation since she was there when Kane first met Olivia at the Joy Facility:
Would you say she's trying to turn them against each other here as well? She does mention the same thing after all (that Kane is essentially a slave and his sister is here in charge). But once again, I don't get the impression that she's trying to turn Kane and Olivia against each other at all... She even says that Kane doing well makes it easier for Olivia lol
And there are others too that insult Kane on the disparity between him and his 'sister' as well on the sub path. For example:
By your logic there's "no reason for Chanel to say this except to turn Kane against Olivia" right? But the reality is that Chanel is very loyal to Olivia and she's tormenting him because it's what she does lol. It's what they all do.
B) It puts her front and center because it means that she wins the gambit and makes her the mother of the head of the company. Elena and Callista supporting their children aren't in the same situation. Im fairly certain that she knows how to win the gambit yet, she's not trying to seduce Kane. Sure there's some wiggle room there, but from all appearances, it appears that she's not trying to win the gambit by having a child with Kane.
I've never said that Alessandra was trying to win the Gambit. (Veronica doesn't appear to be eligible to participate in the Gambit, but many people tell her that she could take it over if she wished to. The logical conclusion to make is that there are other ways to take control of the company than winning the Gambit.)
Here's what I said and it was mostly in jest:
I think it would be great if an evil Kane can somehow convince Alessandra/Juliette/Olivia/Dominique that he will impregnate them all... and then whichever son is the worthiest will take over the company one day. This is definitely a major improvement to Alexander's plan.
And then you said essentially that Alessandra doesn't want to be in charge, she would rather be the puppet master behind the scenes. And so I responded that this isn't 100% confirmed. I agree that it does seem to be the case. But it might not be. There are reasons why it's possible:
-> Perhaps it's simply safer to be in the shadows for now pretending to Juliette/Dominique that she has no interest in running the company, but if she were z5 with her sisters dead, she would happily leave the shadows and lead the company.
-> Perhaps she would like to take over the company, but simply isn't a candidate for the Gambit. (and in fact she can become leader if the gambit fails according to the Faction Summary)
Also, now that I'm re-reading it, a piece of dialogue in one of the pictures I posted is standing out to me now and possibly supports this point. Alessandra says "No Olivia, it's quite alright.
I understand his feelings. No freedom, no power, and he finds his own sister here... in charge."
How does she, a Karlsson on the board understand this feeling? Maybe she means that her sisters Dominique/Juliette/Olivia all get a chance to win the Gambit and take complete control of the company while she has been snubbed (same as Veronica and likely Astrid) from participating in the Gambit? That would definitely be a bummer if she was interested in it. Now maybe I'm reading into this line too much and it wasn't at all how Tess intended it to be interpreted (aka it was just a throwaway comment not meant to be examined too closely), but maybe it was deliberate choice of words?
Anyways, in case it's unclear... I'm NOT saying that Alessandra wants to be in charge. All I'm saying is that we shouldn't 100% rule it out just yet.
We just don't know yet, and even if we did... Tess can change her mind at any time, like having Delilah suddenly becoming best friends with Astrid when she had been initially been available as a throuple romance with Juliette lol. And iirc, Tess announced that a major romance path for dom Kane had been changed the exact same time that she announced Celeste content with dom Kane would be be cut... this major romance option could easily be Alessandra since her path on the dom route was heavily tied to Celeste. Meaning that we could have an entirely different path with Alessandra from what we were expecting. Who knows...
