RPGM - Completed - Karryn's Prison [v1.3.0.52 FULL + DLCs] [Remtairy]

Karryn's Prison could easily be a 5 stars for me. The art, voice acting and general gameplay are all great. the problem has to do with what the game is trying to be (which is a roguelite), and what it is (extreme grind fest).

This game works differently than other rpg's in that you don't make money from battles, but instead a passive income that you can manage in various was. And a few minigames (which is where the problem starts).

The mini-games take way too fucking long for what you're rewarded with. The bathroom one works great because you can leave at any time (but is also the only one without a straight up monetary reward) and the stripper job goes by pretty quick. But the receptionist and bar jobs are a pain to deal with. It takes forever to do even the simplest of actions and the higher your reputation the longer it takes. On any normal play through i've done, these always take up around or over half my playtime which is lame considering how samey they get really quick. It's especially frustrating when you spend so much time doing them and end up losing anyway. I don't mind losing a run. I've put in 100's of hours in rogue games and the frustrartion is part of it, and i know. but the biggest difference is that they know you'll lose a lot so runs never last too long, but with karryn, losing a run you heavily invested in is just demoralizing when you have to go through all that again.

I would still recommend it because it is a high quality game, but if you're only in it for the sex, just cheat in some money with rpgmakersaveedit, play on the lowest difficulty and invest in endurance, dexterity and mind.

well the gameplay of this is "poor" but i still couldn't make myself give it 2/5 (EDIT: nvm i changed my mind it's a 2/5 game because it's so grindy and the design is so stupid), because if you wanna abuse your heroine you have all the possibilities... it's just to go through the game it's a 1/5 terrible game with atrocious game design. at first sight it seems clever with depth, but it's just unnecessarily complicated, very small amount of thought went into it.

the game does a good job at first making you believe that all the complications have some clever design, and you are doomed to fail at first, but with the correct build you will succeed... couldn't be further from the truth. even when you know everything, the gameplay is still garbage. enemies outscale you very hard. the bigger level you are and more time passes the harder enemies get.

show me 1 game which is not ass where you get higher level and you feel weaker... which is the problem here. more enemies, more waves, you get more and more debuffs. unless you rush and cheese the game you will fail. atrocious game design.

there are so many problems with it. none of it makes sense. first of all you are a lone secretary fighting against hundreds of prisoners who keep respawning in a closed prison, yet none of the guards help you even though there are like 40npc guards you can talk to. makes no sense.

then agility makes you dodge a great amount of damage... the "only" problem with it is even dodges causes you to lose HP (aka stamina) sometimes even more than if you got hit by enemy. laughably terrible game design. the only use agility has that you dodge special attacks of enemies so you don't get stunned.

3 physical stats all doing different things, and you need all of them to be useful, yet you have to specialise, so you either will have shit accuracy, shit evasion/speed or shit dmg/hp. again, terrible game design, especially with the enemy scaling.

feels like a 8 year old put together all his ideas and some programmer created it how it was envisioned and they hired great art for it.

this might be the first game I've rated low despite being an okay porn game. because the gameplay is too grindy and garbage. and gets boring fast especially when you have to keep fighting waves after waves after waves and enemies after enemies, constantly have to hold enter to skip stuff because it's just so garbage. you can waste 10hours and still be on level2 because that's how bad the gameplay is.

Easily one of the best if not THE best H-Game out here. The amount of time u can spend on this game is actually rly good in terms of how much money (if any lol) u spent on the game.

The replayability paired with the community mods, are one of the best things this games offers and keeps the game alive for years.

One of the best game i played and enjoyed. First downloaded it here but now im gonna buy it on steam to support you. The scenes are nice but it has so much more. Love the idea with the build and the skill tree for diffrent ways to play. I also like the Style of the battles (Lewd or normal)

Really enjoy this as an actual game and not just porn. It isn't perfectly balanced but it really has created something engaging that makes you think, and that totally wraps you into the immersion. It is really smart with it's resources, this is a game that wastes very little. It is also very unforgiving. One wrong move and your run can be totally ruined. Plays like a roguelike even though it isn't really one. Supreme replay value.

This game has a lot of things a like a lot. Combat not too hard, but you have to do stuff not to lose (though it can feel repeptative, if you try to rush the game), corruption do not have dark themes, so you are ok with main heroine givining into pleasure, there are some thing I'd wish were expanded, some small staff I found annoying, but other features trump everything.

had been playing since early days and been playing till now, just wow and another masterpeice from remtairy, cant bleive that this game is still getting developed further and more dlc is yet to come, great communications by the dev and great art style, great gameplay loop, lots of variety over content and lots of small details that make the game fresh in every update

This is like if people who made H-Games actually cared. The only thing that's probably holding the game back are the painful mini games and it being made on rpg maker. This is like wow. Play it, it looks good, plays fun, but the main issue stems from the slot side as I wish it was a bit more open doing a full anal build doesn't isn't quite different than a full mouth/blow job build. Perfect game

The game is a masterpiece and is rightly in the top 10 of the best H-Games.
The story is well thought out and the combat system is balanced.
The side quests are fun and lacking in my opinion more endings and more choice of outfits.
Remtairy is really doing a job and hope for more expansions to come.

Probably one of the best RPGs here that are not story focused. Lots of nice CGs, some minigames, decent replayability.
Can be a little slowish on potato PCs, but if your PC was produced in 2020ies and has a dedicated GPU - you are almost definitely in the clear.

I always come back to this one and I really enjoy the combat and overall game play of karryn's. The game as a whole is pretty hot and I would totally recommend this game since developing and choosing what happens in the prison (though limited) and karryn's abilities is really fun and something you don't see a lot in other games like how karryn's prison does.

After finding this game, it is very hard to enjoy other h-game because other would looks simple and bore.

One of my favorite porn games of all time, I regularly find myself replaying it, and trying to beat the game in different ways, but I think I'm too depraved as I keep making Karryn become a slut. I really enjoy it and most of Remitary's work.

Extremely enjoyable game. I have played this game since before it came out on Steam and I immediately bought it when it finally came out. I have over 100 hours on this game on steam alone. The game is very fleshed out and the situations Karryn gets herself in are very enjoyable to sit through. I particularly like the side jobs (especially the secretary side job) because they incorporate some kinks I am into (exhibitionism, among other). In short, I would recommend this game to anyone who wants a kinky adventure through a prison, trying to get it in control( but not really).

Perhaps the best porn game I know of. Perfect integration of sex and combat. Found myself actually getting invested in making a decent build instead of spamming one move. Really breaks out of the mold in several aspects.

This game is great, until... you want to go somewhere specific with it. Now what do I mean with this? You want to lewd up the stuck up bitch that is Karryn? HAH! Good luck cock staring for the next 5 hours. You want to make her a Beast at fighting? HAHAH! Nope! Watch this long H-scenes of Karryn getting stunlocked. Its like, this game you don't just sit down and play it. Hell no! You open up any kind of guide you can get your hands on and then design painfully slow the exact Karryn you want.
Does that make good gameplay? No, no it doesn't.
Everything is overpriced. You have to fight to keep up order but if Karryn is too much of a slut, that takes ages. If she is too much of a prude, you might as well play any regular RPG out there. Something in-between? Forget it.

They put some cat there, to tell you the game has two "traps." You either skill your character wrong by using the basics of the game or you keep order too high. Which I suppose leads to bankruptcy for some players.
Nothing in the game hints at this. It even encourages you to slut up Karryn. But the sluttier she gets, the easier she's beaten. Then what's the point?
So they put that cat there as a band-aid solution, because the devs don't know how to balance this game and said there are two "traps" in the game instead. Well I don't call them traps, I call them glaring issues with the balancing of the game and I believe the devs know this too. They just don't want to bother fixing their broken system.
There is also no save system. So if you conquered stage 3 and you want to slut up Karryn from that point onward, you're essentially running towards a game over. So maybe you go ahead and make a manual save right? Nope, game doesn't offer that. You have one auto-save, for one game. That's it. Like why make the H so counterintuitive? It doesn't make any sense. You're meant to only skill one single way, despite the game offering you so much variety and you're not meant to slut up Karryn you're meant to get away from the H instead of trying to get more of it like you'd expect in any other H-RPG out there.
The art is great, its like that one saving grace why I even bothered to play until I got a game over. But the rest forget it.
Also the voice acting is kinda funny.

Perhaps the best I've played in terms of quality and content.

It is quite difficult at the beginning. I recommend choosing the secretary route and continue after the game over that you will surely have. This way it will be easier, but believe me, not too much.

It took me several attempts to even get through the first part in normal mode. But the difficulty gives an organic change to the slow degeneration of the character, I thought it was pretty cool because my own desire to get through the game without her getting raped is like her resilience in not becoming a total slut until she's already too deep into it.
You will get more than enough challenges in secretary mode to achieve this same slow degeneration, so I recommend it more.

Very first adult game that I've played which I think is actually worth playing <3
Gameplay is kind of similar to old Pokemon gameplay style. Main protagonist is fully VAed for the battle/sexual scenes (in both English and Japanese).

A game that I greatly underestimated, where the story takes place with you being a woman (with huge breasts) being the chief warden of the prison. At first I thought it was going to be just another boring game where you farm xp and advance in the story, but I was wrong, you can upgrade the prison, and as you buy more and more parts the scenery changes and you unlock new scenes, that also counts if you're turning into a slut (showing sexual posters instead of normal ones).

The story holds you until the end, you will probably make a new virgin save until the end just to see the outcome of the story.

Conclusion: One of the best of all hentai games.
