Currently getting my ass kicked by Miki. Does anyone have a specific strategy for beating her? Could also recommend armor that "counters" her, I really just need something to beat her.

If all else fails just reduce the difficulty man.
If you craft the ruby dagger you can defeat almost any boss on the lowest difficulty in a manner of seconds if you are not completely underleveled.

Yeah I know that I could just lower the difficulty, but the low xp that it gives just kinda makes me not want to do it.
Also "just lower the difficulty" has the same vibe as "just get gud" for me, so even though I consciously know that I could do it I almost want to challenge myself now out of spite.
Like I have this kind of " I don't need to lower the difficulty, I'm not a bitch, this porn game isn't going to get the best of me" attitude if that makes sense.
Also I have the Ruby Knife, so I guess I have that going for me. Is there any other weapons/ armor etc. that are basically OP, because the Ruby Knife seems to have this almost legendary status as "the best sword"

Honestly the ruby knife is overpowered because it's basic ability is basically a double strike. All other abilities are garbage with the exception of the last one which does slightly less dmg but causes bleed.
I like to craft any item once to fill my crafting list :) Just because I enjoy the crafting aspect. But to be honest I think you could argue that you can use the knife for rest of the game. Some late game weapons may be slightly better though.

I guess I am a "bad gamer" because I mostly play Katalist for the atmosphere, story, sidequests, quests and the scenes. I do not really care about the admittingly very challenging combat. I usually play on the lowest or second lowest difficulty.

I think it's kinda funny to get stressed out or even ask people for help just because you refuse to lower the difficulty for 1 fight ;)
Either you got that urge to challenge yourself or you don't. Asking for a "guide" is kinda silly because you can just lower the difficulty and I guess a majority of players here play it on the lower difficulties.

You may get less exp but you can finish the early bosses in 2 or 3 rounds. Also on high difficulty it takes HOURS to get enough materials to do all the crafting.

I feel like this game needs a lot more focus... I'm trying to go around getting the school scenes but their unlock conditions are buggy or *very* unclear.

Small spoiler: but something like having to lose to the first succubi for her essence (vs actually winning) could be hinted at somewhere at the least.

Yeah you're probably right. Also I wasn't calling you a bad gamer for not playing at a higher difficulty, I'm just saying that I think like that because I'm stubborn. There's also the slight worry that this will be a pattern across the rest of the game, where every succubus will be too frustratingly hard to play at a normal difficulty and I'll be forced to play on easier modes, thus handicapping the amount of XP I can get for the entire play through, which is really annoying since grinding will be even more mind numbing.

It would also be nice to have a character in game that could provide hints on what to do to get certain things, the journal already kinda does this but in a really crappy and vague way. It would be nice if there was a way to get back on track if players can't progress in the general story or can't progress with a character.

iirc the bosses scale to your level to some degree (based on difficulty), so the only real benefit of leveling up is unlocking new skills

if you go to the right of the witches house you can explore and find Lucy, she reverse drains you and gives you levels for super easy farming

once Noo teaches you how to train your energy you get a whole ton of new attacks based on which succubus element you have equipped theres like 10 elements you can swap too IMO the best once is that increases you damage by 100% but makes you take 50% more damage

as far as I know the succubus scale with you, and the more you lose to them the more you're affected by their temptation attacks (I think)

the pawnshop in town you can buy pretty much the best non craftable gear I think

there is alot of content in the game you can spend hours unlocking sidequest and hidden quest scenes which are pretty good
(tracy/bev/dixie/caroline/macky and the 3 different types of rumor girls ass/feet/findom)

Macky is notorious for being difficult to complete due to bugs, and one seem from the ass girls (double facefart scene) is also bugged so youll most likely keep your sanity if you just download a gallery mod for those
but I understand what youre sayin its more fulfilling to win on the intended difficulty

that's the one part i woudn't agree on. while not cheap, a fine steel armor set (example. iron works too and iirc there is even a superior version by now) from the blacksmith gives you way better protection than things like a construction site helmet or whatever the pawn shop offers. iirc the only things you really want from there are the gas mask (to get access to that one teacher room) and maybe some sunglasses or other accessories.

Steel armor is way better than what the pawn shop offers... you are right... the exception is: If your speed is too slow your enemy will always strike first. That is a huge problem and disadvantage. I would only wear the slow steel armor if you have high enough agi to still act first. Otherwise the pawn shop items may be better because they won't slow you down.

These three comments have probably been the most insightful posts i've seen in the entire thread, this was very informative, thanks you three!

Is anyone else getting issues when trying to steal shoes for the panty quest line? Every time I try to smell shoes the image for holding a shoe remains after I stop, no matter what I do it's still there, basically meaning I have to reload a save. Is this a me problem or is this a known bug?
