Ya’ll are killing it, I still can’t believe it’s just two of you.
They work really well together so it's possible to get a good amount of work done each week. They also listen to their patrons and think about good ideas and even put them into the game if it benefits the game. Last but not least they stream very often on picarto so you can see the progress. And if you can't be bothered to sit through the stream (just like me) they even record the last 12 sessions so you can watch them on demand.^^

Huh, GameMaker Studio 2, I thought it was made in something else.
The very early prototypes were done in Unity because that is what we used for previous games. But the workflow in GameMaker for 2D games was so much nicer that we decided to switch!

Makes sense, GameMaker is one of if not the best engine for most 2d gamedev. Switching to it from Unity is -30% development time. :)

What platforms you will use for distribution after release? Steam, Itch?

damn i was gonna ask for some unity platformer programming hints
Null here! I made a bunch of pixel platformers in Unity. What questions do you have? I guess the most important thing is to *not* use Physics2D, but roll your own arcadey physics with raycasts etc.

Thank you for sharing the roundups/peeks here! I hope people enjoy these~
Happy to share the updates with everyone! :3
And thanks for your approval, because I was starting to wonder if sharing the Patreon-only updates might upset you, being paid-for info and all.

I'd gladly share them more publicly. The "Sneak Peek" is only behind the paywall because of tiddies and dongers and I don't want to give Patreon a heart-attack!

Yeah kinda related to that i wanted to know how you got around the friction issue with pressing against vertical walls while falling especially if i wanted to make a wall jump like you guys did with that one upgrade with a controlled slide when you want it, but regular falling gravity when not pressing

Check out:

This is a good starting point for a home-brew platformer physics engine. :3

It is a bit glitchy but it should be enough to get you rolling!
