Ren'Py - Completed - Knightly Passions [v1.60 + DLCs] [FEYADA]

The game seems promising. Starting with the story, it is an ok story and the writing is decent, the art style is nicely hand drawn and the animations are silky smooth, but the more you play the game the more you see what is under the hood.
You will find out how grindy it is. How the combat is the worst thing about this game but the main thing in it.
It is very simple (at least at the first several hours or so), being that, the enemies are so tanky and damage sponges. It takes so long to complete 1 fight and there is no reason for that when the system is so simple, thus the fights are boring and very repetitive making them a chore.
I don't know why the devs decided that you need to grind so much to get stronger to even be able to defeat the next enemies in the pipeline.
The boar is fucking running away and wasting your time when it gets low, but not low enough that you can finish it… it is very frustrating.
Moreover, the difficulty ramp of the enemies is unproportionable. It becomes very hard very fast, most mission that you will get to the first time you won't be able to complete and you won't be even close to kill there the enemies… you are so weak and they hit you for about 20% of your health and many of them even debuff you and make you weaker lol…
Also, resetting skill points costs a lot of money.. Come on man, the game is so unbalanced, let us learn the game and reassign the skills freely…
After all of that, it is important to note how far in-between the H-scene are, so all this grind is for such a little reward it made me sad.

Bottom line, unfortunately I dropped the game after about 10-12hrs when I got frustrated to see how weak I'm compared to every boss in every quest I have and I was tired of mindlessly grinding.

I really like your game and your graphic style and character design, in my opinion it's even more beautiful than 3D design, the game is very good and there is one thing that is a bit regrettable that there are many H scenes that are not repeated like the elf girl, will you make a part 2, or will you make another game with similar graphics, I'm really looking forward to it

    WonderingWhy

This is a very story-driven game. Although it's an RPG, it's on Ren'Py. That means it's almost a visual novel. That means there's a lot of reading involved. A lot.
The porn component is minimal. It's definitely not the main focus here.
People who want to play for the porn will be disappointed. It takes quite a long time and effort to get to that point, and the scenes themselves aren't worth it. The technical level doesn't measure up to Asian games.
Of course, it is possible to cum. But personally, I found it difficult.
By the way, Live2D is used for animated scenes here. It's quite unusual to see it in projects like this. It's a complex tool. And I already mentioned the level of art above.

The characters look cool. But they could have been written better.
Their personalities feel a bit cardboard. As if they are secondary.
When you go to a character, you know in advance what they will say and how they will react to a particular event.

Nevertheless, the text is excellent (I played in Russian).
The plot is engaging. There is little to none graphomania (which is good). The way the main character communicates is something to learn from and use in real life. A true Sigma)

The gameplay is okay, but it could be better.
There are mini-games. But they are monotonous and boil down to simply clicking on the screen.
The combat system is a bit disappointing. It's very simple, slow, and buggy, which makes it uninteresting.

The principle of changing the time of day starts to get annoying in the second half of the game, as it creates artificial limitations.
But, unfortunately, this is the basis for such projects.

There is almost no grind in the game, which is very nice.
The crafting, food, and money systems seem a bit rudimentary. Since, in essence, there is no need for them.
The best items are given for completing the storyline. And the storyline can be completed without crafting, which requires grinding. Speaking specifically about combat, I died in battle maybe... twice at most during the entire game. The battles are simple and it's extremely difficult to die in them.

There are almost no time-limited events in the game. This means you can play however you like without worrying that you'll miss something.
This is a huge plus, because I'm sick of that kind of thing.
There's also a very cool journal that allows you to track your progress in quests.

The music is good. It does its job. Although it could be a little more varied.

Despite all the cons I've mentioned, you can feel the love of the developers in this project.

I find it a little strange that the game already has two DLCs, but the main storyline is still unfinished.
Or rather, that's not true. It's finished, but additions are still being made to it.
And let me remind you that the game has been in development for over 5 years.
5 years, Carl. And it's not ready.

The game has bugs and typos. But they're not critical. Although it really wouldn't hurt to fix them.
The most annoying ones are the constant downtime in combat, when you have to wait for some kind of miracle after each move, and the slow porn-animations, which seem to run at 5 FPS (played on Android).

The developers have promised to start working on the second part soon.
But considering the pace, they'll finish it by 2030 or so.
And I'm sure that by that time, it will already be irrelevant.
Accordingly, there is no point in waiting for it.
    But I realized something.
Namely, that games like this are ideal for many types of work.
You can take a break from them at any time without losing anything, and then quickly return.

My rating: 4 out of 5 stars. Maybe 4 minus. A solid middle class.
It's a good game, but not great. Unfortunately, I can't recommend playing it, because life is too short to play “average” games.

Me likes! good mix of puzzles, combat, grind and sexy bits. The story it´s good and the chars are interesting, crafting items could be better and maybe some random encounters and board quests would be apprecciated, overall a great game wirh good animations

I absolutely hate mini games. So far I have played countless mini games in this thing. Know how many times I have seen anything naked so far? ZERO. Every quest. Every hunt. Every venture anywhere is a minigame. After screaming at my screen I got sick of it and deleted the whole thing. No more.

I would say it really deserves 2 stars. But I enjoyed the art (even the one that seemed to be ai generated) and the story, so I am giving it an extra star. I haven’t tried the hard combat mode, but I was mostly content with the easy one, since it was easy enough to not be a hurdle and hard enough not to be boring.

My main complaint with the game are the erotic scenes. They were like a slap in the face. They seemed to be an afterthought of the developer and completely irrelevant to the story. Worst of all they are both short and boring.

I have similar problems with games of this variety, so I have decided to stop giving them a try, even thought, in theory I should love them. So If you have enjoyed similar games do not hesitate to give this one a try.

    Final Version + 2 DLCs
Used the be a great game, a bit on the grindy site but still manageable.
The Story was a bit strange but that would be the selling point, you couldn't really tell where this is going so that was also entertaining.
Now we see the final product, the grind was tweaked to become close to impossible to achieve.
The Graphics remain nice like the last few builds and sadly I can't really tell you much about the story, the parts I managed to unlock after several hours of playing useing dozen of reloads was the same as before, but I never managed to get past the first Story endboss, because they spiked up the combat difficulty to become impossible to pass anything.

    So
Story so far 8/10 (mostly expecting that quality remains the same throughtout the game, though comments indicate it's not)
    Graphics 8/10
    Gameplay 2/10

Why an overall score of 2/5?
Because after grinding away for hours I feel like I wasted my time.

Game was destroyed by the death of the elf's mother as it than turned your MC into an intelligent MC to the dumbest fuck in the world! Even as the player you knew something was going to go bad so her dying and MC not leaving early to prevent what you knew that something was going to happen destroyed the entire damn game. It was stupid bull shit hollywood shit drama you know the type where the killer is way behind they trip and than dead! That kind of stupidity and I will NEVER touch a game by this awful developer as that kind of shit just sucks in a game that was good until than!

I just kept wanting to go to the forest earlier but the fucking game would not let me and I HATE and DESPISE fucking shit forced SCRIPTING like that! It ruins the developer as a story writer and it shows how shitty of a writer developer is. If I read shit like this in a book with a forced death I would drop that book and never read another book by that Author!

Why ruin a good story with a horrible forced death script! If you want to wrrite it correctly you would show up in time and than while trying to rescue her get him from behind failing to save her but barely surviving yourself. This would of been in proper character for the MC and his personality and intelligence and not left this shitty bad taste in the mouth. That is how a proper author writes not shitty Hollywood Drama forced shit.. that is just laziness in writing a proper story and staying to character.

The scenes aren't interesting enough to frap to but the none H content is beautiful. The game play and story are pretty great. I think the combat is purposefully unbalanced to either waste time or get paid.

The cards locking mechanic has an error where available cards get locked as well. It's really frustrating. The mini games keep the player engaged, but the story starts to drag on a while into skip territory.

I hope the creator gets some outside assistance on the scenes for the second one.

I played the game on android and found it very enjoyable, only issue I can say is there could be more scenes but it is not inadequate. Overall rating should be higher than three stars. Waiting for more games from feyada

A lot to like, unfortunately the negatives are very negative. The battles and gameplay are incredibly easy - as in there is no need to bother crafting, hunting or trading outside of the missions. It is however time consuming, and given how easy it is would have been better off as a pure VN.

The biggest knock is on the ending. A "completed" game should not cut off out the blue, there is effectively no ending. For a story driven game, that was mostly well written to that point, it makes no sense.

This should have been a 4*game but the juice isnt worth the squeeze with how it was completed

I think this game got away with much better review simply because of couple of well drawn frames. Gameplay experience wasn't all there. Let me elaborate.

    Roleplay: 3/10
You can count with one hand how many impactful choice there are actually. Story doesn't sway all that much, i'd call it a linear VN more than anything.

    Combat: 2/10
Implemented Slay the spire inspired combat but doesn't have the depth of it. You can't really pick and choose what goes on ur deck. Combat UI is very unintuitive as well. clicking on cards is inconsistent. I am often clicking on cards for 3-4 times to play. Slay the spire's swiping mechanism would have been much better. also, SFX/greyed out card for when not enough energy/invalid move would been lot less frustrating. Lastly, combat difficulty is awful. you either get a cakewalk or pure agony. should have been a medium/normal difficulty. Monsters should have had a difficulty indicator. Especially the main mission ones. So players have some idea on what their gear level should be.

    Story: 7/10 (ignoring the ending)
You can tell some characters got lot more love than other characters. I do like a bunch of story bits but some spots had unnecessary exposition dumping. Aurelia definitely benefited from "give me quick summery" option in dialogues, something all semi-VN games should implement. Ignoring the ending, i can give it 7/10. There were some bits of story that connected with me, wasn't expecting that from an adult game.

    Gameplay: 2/10
playing through this was kinda painful. First few hurdles i faced, there is no easy way to make money early game, no way to regen health freely, no way to figure out whether u under-leveled before jumping into a fight.
In term of minigames, puzzles made sense, google connection lost game was easy, qte were simple. fishing took a little time to get used to (its actually not same as stardew) but i figured it out. BUT arm wrestling game was painful. they should have substituted that with QTEs instead of using button mashing. my hands broke down after defeating tavern keeper.
their decision to force u to play through the entire game was diabolical. There were a lot of characters(mostly the red haired nun) i didn't care about but i had go through their quests anyway. Lastly, the survive in the cave game: figuring out all 4 mushrooms through trial and error wasn't on my mind when i started. If main guy kept mental note of what each mushroom does, it would been lot less confusing. I thought eating any mushroom has a random chance to get u poisoned. what i m saying is mushroom effects weren't communicated very well in the game.

    CG and animation: 8/10
It's considered best part of the game. I agree to some extent. 2DCG are very well put together (some of them are wallpaper worthy) but i can not say the same for animations. Not all animation were made equally. Some characters got much more love than others. Sudden shift to 3D animation in a mostly 2D game was jarring as well. I hope the artist level up there perspective drawing game and keep it all 2D for the next game.

Some minor nitpicks: UI had few confusing elements. scroll up takes to the previous scene. i would often scroll up in my inventory to check things in previous pages but get surprised. also there is no item sorting in the inventory which made inventory a mess. and why the item count is on top right? shouldn't it be on the bottom right? is this a russian thing?

    Overall: 4.4/10 -> 2/5
Unnecessarily large scope for the game, they bit lot more than they could chew. they could have chopped off few characters. made the story shorter with less character with higher quality. You will absolutely feel how rushed everything was how abrupt the story was. I did not enjoy the game and r18 scenes weren't worth the time investment.

Story : 7.5/10. Engaging and interesting, besides the end part.

Gameplay/Pace : 7.5/10. I really liked the gameplay, simple rpg mechanics and elements but nicely refined. No annoying random encounters. Game dragged a bit at times.

Characters' design : 8/10 Nicely done, appealing and cute girls.

Characters' writing : 7.5/10 Good for the most part.

Mc(writing/design): 7.5/10. One of the better designed and written mc out there.

Graphics(overall game render quality) : 8/10 Unique renders and graphics.

Animations: 6/10 There are a few animation in the game but not too great.

Sex Scenes (overall quality): 7/10 Good but not too great.

Sex Scenes (variety of fetishes, quantity, spiciness): 5/10 Pretty vanilla, not enough variety.

Sound: 7.5/10 Liked the music for the game.

    overall score 7.5/10

Great Game, the adventure and storyline are all top tier but... there's one big problem that I'm sure most players have experienced..

We can't apply our save to the latest updated versions.

    Please fix this

reasons to play? the art. THE ART FUCKING CARRIES THIS
it feels a bit incomplete but generally quite fun. decent enough story and the animated scenes are pretty darn good though there seems to be a large frame rate drop on some of the newer scenes, also thank god theres a skip button for some of the not so well done minigames also there is a slight style change but thats just because of the multi year long dev time and improving artist

I don´t like VNs. Read, click, read, click, only sometimes a decision, which mostly doesn´t matter the slightest.
Here we have the exeption which proves the rule. This one has a stat system, a map (where sometimes new locations appear), some minigames, decisions are used to continue the story. I wished all VNs were like this, it would definitly improve my general opinion about VNs.
The art is good, with sometimes a bit of animation. Could be better, but generally OK.
The music is fitting for the medieval setting, and there are other tunes for different situations.
Story is good, no orthography errors found so far.
All in all clearly a recommendation! Not perfect yet, but definitely a positive experience.

10/10 chracters and art. story well written , easily playable with guides in game if i remeber correctly. Everyone is hot as fuck. 1000000 % must play. I would believe if anyone would give point less than 4.

Came for the art, stayed for the art.
If you like the artstyle in the previews and the cover, try the game.
I appreciated the gameplay, most of the story, loved the scenes, and found the characters to be fairly interesting. However, this review will cover more flaws than benefits, since those were the ones to hit me later on in my playthrough.

Disclaimer: I played on the "tactical" mode, which feels more gameplay-oriented than story-oriented. The balancing appears to reflect this.

It's a game with all the mechanics of a proper game, but with a few critical flaws. The combat is interesting enough to make the "grinding" in the game not feel terrible, but as it uses a turn-based card system, the inability to pick and choose your cards cripples this gameplay element.

The use of ren'py was certainly an interesting choice, and this game pushes the engine to its limits. Kudos.

It's really not an H-game at all, in all honesty. It's an RPG game with h-scenes, and it bears the marks of a modern-day Patreon game, with minigames strewn about and drastic changes in animation styles between scenes. However, the core art remains some of the best I've seen on the site. (Also, I'm pretty tired of 3dcg.)

    Minor spoiler:
The story ends on a cliffhanger for two of its main plot points (three, if you consider Arachne), and it really detracts from the experience. It feels like the game is considered "completed" only because its part of the story is over.

Did I mention how good the art is, though?

this is more like a visual novel version of the witcher rather then the typical stuff you find on this site. its a proper game. honestly phenomenal work here and i look forward to the second installment of the series.

    SpicyWintercress

The art is quite good, the characters fun, and the game is an excellent demonstration of what can be done with ren'py if you push it beyond what it was intended for. On the flipside though there is the confused writing which does have its ups but also downs and truly awful design decisions which make this a 2 star game if you don't turn on the cheats, a 4 star game if you do and then treat it as a VN with minigames.
