Played a bit up to Floor 5, but in version 1.0, doing the mildly-challenging endurance quest resulted in me getting bugged. It didn't reward me a missing item.
Furthermore, reading into the official channels, all story rewards and endurance quest rewards are bugged; they are never given. In fact, if you progress up to Floor 16, you might miss out on a key item crucial to progress, soft-locking you.
While I enjoyed this game due to me enjoying Etrian Odyssey, the overall difficulty is much, much less challenging. The influence is still obvious regardless, but at its current state, the nostalgia is the only one bringing this review to 2/5 stars, as the bugs are rather game breaking, to say nothing of the translation issues, or rather, a lack of QC thereof.
Credit where credit is due though; for a 3D dungeon crawler made on RPGMaker, it is very, very performant. Not unlike another one whose RJ number escapes me, which involved a teacher and a purple-haired student trying to raid a school. That one was laggy as crap.
- A majority of the classes remain untranslated when offered as prompts. Thankfully, I can read Japanese, but by god that's a very poor showing, Shiravune.
- Iffy translation choices. Grated door? Has nobody heard of a portcullis?
- Despite selecting another character, the background entry you get for the first character you recruit is always the Paladin.
- Endurance Quests give no items despite the game telling they do.
- A progression bug exists which can theoretically be fixed by cheating the needed items in.
If Shiravune fixes the bugs, which they usually never do, I might reconsider doing another review or amending it.
