VN - Ren'Py - Last Sunset [Ep.1 PI] [Venus]

In a influx of terrible Vns and pointless stories its rare these days to find a creator who can deliver quality writing as well as visuals, Venus the dev of this project has managed just that, a solid narrative, cute characters and a story that i WANT to read..
Its early days but starting strong with its 1st release.. Lets hope that the future for this title goes the distance instead of finding the pit of Abandoned like so many other well started titles..

Last Sunset has a promising foundation, with a solid premise that hints at an engaging story. If the narrative stays consistent—or better yet, improves over time—it has the potential to grow into something really memorable.

That said, there are a few areas that could use refinement, particularly in terms of character consistency and visual design. One notable issue is with the main character’s behavior. Given his backstory—especially the recent loss of his girlfriend—his excitement over getting a motorcycle feels a bit off. The scene where he’s joyfully riding with his sister comes across as oddly carefree, considering the emotional weight the character should still be carrying. That moment feels inconsistent with the tone established earlier in the story.

Visually, the MC is well-designed, but some of the female character models could use improvement. Zoe, in particular, stands out as needing some polish—the current model just doesn't match the overall visual quality of the game. Aven also has noticeably vampiric teeth, which seem out of place unless that’s going to be addressed as part of the plot later. If it’s unintentional, it’s something that should definitely be fixed.

Despite these critiques, Last Sunset shows promise. With some character adjustments and visual refinements, it could develop into a strong and emotionally resonant AVN. Here's hoping future updates bring the consistency and polish it needs.

Why would you give a motorcycle to a guy that was in a motorcycle crash that killed someone? sounds like a horrendous idea?

AVN is very early but super intriguing despite my shitting on minor things above. Please just don't make MC an edgelord/bitch for once. Will Update once further releases come out

Ep1. review

Length: 8- 10 minutes

story: GF passed away, dad leaves MC for an unknown reason but gives him a bike before he leaves, mom is MIA, sister and MC are best friends. Pretty much two jocks joke around with him in front of the MC's sister and friend. "Better watch out, or you might end up dead." Then, a fight breaks out, and they are sent to the Dean's office regarding the incident. Next scene with a dream scene with MC and GF, and the end. (There are some other minor scenes, but not much talk about.)
So far, another college game.

Choices are minimal or dont really affect the game much yet. if give +/ - points to people.

Characters:
MC: A decent person who lost his GF and is fighting with demons with the help of his sister being there.

Everyone else is a typical character, from jocks to male friends who are just there and get picked on,

Renders/ scenes: Some scenes are weird, some are decent
first scene with MC and GF kissing and weird bobbing (like pop-up book)
rest are decent

Conclusion:
Decent for a new developer so far, somewhat short but reasonable. just need to improve some scenes, like the weird animated kissing scene.
I think the dev has what it takes make decent game.
