RPGM - Ren'Py - Laura: Lustful Secrets [Ch.2 v0.4 BETA] [Dark Anu]

Reviewing v2 (v1 is a 5 star game imo).

I appreciate that it might take Dark Anu some time to get accustomed to Ren'Py but there were a few issues with v0.01 for me:

Edit: Dark Anu fixed this issue and I adjusted the score to reflect the change.
The back and forth was made worse with having to click the location lettering rather than a button with the locations written on them, clunky and cumbersome, please fix that asap!

Costume changes are fine but having to click through multiple screens to get to a wardrobe and then out of the house seems to be cruel and unusual filler considering the high standards set in v1.

It feels like a soft reset on the storyline I don't think anyone would object to a recommendation of v1 at the start so fans of Laura don't have to sift through a bunch exposition they are already aware of.

One of the best art styles -in 3D- you can find in any sex game. Laura is so charismatic, and I love she also had another series. She is very well done, with a gorgeous face and butt. Hope the game over time is going to have lots of anal sex. And now the Renpy version makes it even better.

This rating is for v2 (v1 was a 4star game)

A perfect example of how to ruin a game.
At least the rpgm version was somewhat enjoyable.
Why all this back and fourth?

I can't undestand why some devs try to make a linear game/story in a "kind of sandbox" withmultiple choices...

and even more so when using the renpy engine... just make a vn and be done with it.
People hate rpgm for the constant back and forth -> porting the same logic to rpgm does not make a game better.

Having to click exactly above a thin letters to move to the next screen/location was frustrating as hell.

I don't care about Ren'Py but Sandbox in middle of the story? Well, at least there is no a "remake" for the moment and is a good sign. It means he hasn't run out of ideas to stop the project at this point. Well I was never a fan of sandbox and never will be. It is a headache. Good luck DarkAnu.

This game has great art and an engaging story. In most ntr games the MC is a dumb slut, but this game is an exception.
In most scenes MC cheats on her husband not because she wants to get laid, but because of unexpected plot twists.
Also, the main character is simply the prettiest milf I've ever seen on this site.
So it is excelent game even despite the rpgm

Best Cheating game! I love the models. Although I think they could have made Emma much more voluptuous. Laura and Eva are so hot. I would like to see a relationship emerge in future updates on Laura's husband and mother-in-law. As well as between David and Emma.

This game is about a quiet suburban family who receive an unwanted visitor and his presence causes a sudden change in the family's behavior. The question is can a butterfly flapping its wings really cause a hurricane? Play as Laura a devoted wife and discover for yourself...

** UPDATE 2024 ** With the switch to RENPY losing most of the clunkiness of the RPGM engine, I am upgrading this game and giving it one more star and give it a 4 star rating. The game is amusing and the story is good so I will check back and update as it's warranted.

This game is a mixed bag of dicks imo. Their is a lot here to like but their is also a ton of annoyances.

The GOOD

1) The character models, these use a lot of the character models as the game Manila Shaw https://f95zone.to/threads/manila-shaw-blackmails-obsession-v0-36a-abaddon.7857/. Solid models and I love the character model of Manila so it's easy to like this here.

2) The animations when you get to them for the most part their solid and well done.

3) The story so far is interesting and enjoyable. It is not Shakespeare but the writing is solid, not perfect but solid.

The BAD
1) The clunkiness of the interface and layout! This is a game that really should be a RENPY game imo. There is absolutely no point in walking around in this game, it is a side scroller so you literally walk left and right to your next destination.

2) Getting stuck in Loooooooong, unskippable, unsavable areas! You can't save if you are in the middle of a scene and some of these scenes go on forever and ever and ever. You get bored, Your GF comes in, You kids enter the room and you close the screen. For example - Their is one scene where her husband walks in and surprises her that his sister is here, BUT it doesn't end their, no no no it then goes to having a loooooong flashback as to how they met, her roommate, the guys she new, a party a sex scene etc. on and on and on with no opportunity to SAVE! The problem is its a good scene when it gets to the animations but my god what I wouldn't give to be able to save. (See the Gallery)

3) The Gallery - Absolute worst gallery implementation I have ever scene and I generally love having a gallery to go back to for a reference. This one does not take you to the good parts, it takes you to basically the last place you could have feasibly saved and you start way way way away from the good stuff (See Point 2 Long Long Long locked in renders)

4) Their is rarely ever a choice (Actually I am trying my hardest to remember any choices at all and I sincerely can't remember one!)

Conclusion

If you love Manila Shaw and/or these character model then their is enjoyment to be had here but its a slog to get through this. The interface is just clunky. It has great ideas and story that are poorly implemented behind this interface. Manila Shaw uses RPMG but it is very well implemented and makes sense to use RPMG. This should be a straight AVN in Renpy.

For the Story, the character models, the renders and animations I give this 3 stars out of 5 as it currently is.

I will update if any of these issues are fixed in a future update.

Actually the type of story I want with ntr and obliviousness and many non "sexual" mishaps that happen that the wife is oblivious to. It's enjoyable and the story moves forward well. One thing I don't like much is the many meanwhiles that take place. I do like some but only if they relate to Laura like the husband going back into Joe's, but I would like to focus on Laura only rather than other girls. If there's a skip function for that, I'm up for it and you have the option to continue with Laura only. Also, more outfits would be good especially having people react to them depending on an outfit you wear. The unfairness in Laura being ok with cheating but not ok with her husband doing it actually is hot and I like that continued. I like the comedy feel to it as well, but there are certain dialogues that kinda get you zoned out and all I do is try fast forwarding it to get by quick so having a balance should be considered.

I would also like to point out that I like to see developments into this game more rather than the side game. It is much better to finish the story than delay because if work is being done for both at the same time, it eats away at my patience and I assume the same for everyone else.

Some light spoilers in here about plot. Very enjoyable. First, this is a slut sim, very basic sandbox (small map) so things are easy to find and move around. The sandbox is the tool to get you to the next cutscene that plays out without very many choices. This does not try to be a true game in that its more of a VN with a sandbox to move to the next scenes. That said, it is very well done.

The female MC is very beautiful, well done and enjoyable to play. Many of the characters in the game are fun, and have great personalities, facial expressions and humor.

Its not serious, lots of weird porn logic and the entire game does not take itself serious. That creates a vibe that you are playing something fun.

NTR,? Well I guess depends on definition. Female MC, her and all wives/girlfriends are banging everyone...which is fun. The Female's love interest (Husband) is so far very faithful, oblivious (light suspicion) .

So you as the MC are cheating on the hubby, and hubby is not aware. He actually comes off as rather adorable, kind, good guy in most cases, who the MC loves dearly. Bumbling fool, but adorable in his own way.

No incest (I think the DEV has expressed it won't happen at all) but there are quite a few hints at that kink through some of the interactions with the hubby/sister, MC and her son, Son and the Daughter.

The Dev seems to cater to the ugly, fat, old guy kink quite a bit (not a fan of that) but it is done really well and its not too overbearing. There are numerous good looking and younger encounters, so the Fem MC does spread the love around. Not very much on the girl/girl side.

Porn logic is everywhere here, and it works. From situations, to now a police agent, to how she substantiates her infidelity to herself. Wouldn't make allot of sense in reality, but it works for this game.

Lots of different types, all have big cocks (except hubby) lots of BBC but the Dev thankfully hasn't gone down the queen of spades route, thankfully. Please dev, lets not do that...please.

Just finished V1.6, fun romp. Really find myself wanting to see a redemption arc of hubby and son. The son has been a good guy, gets a girl and she cheats, hubby is a good guy, gets cheated...and gets nothing.

Would love to see a little more attention to outfits, but so far the graphics are really well done, backgrounds are not a focus for the dev.

Rather enjoyable, high rating for length of play, fun, and would like to see more in the future.

This game is SOOOO GOOD!! If you're into NTR, groping, corruption and those sort of things, it doesnt get better than this. There's SO much content and its all so good. The dialogue is great too. What made this game go from amazing to beyond any game here was the humor though. I found myself laughing non-stop at some unexpected jokes. Its not a comedy game, like, there arent jokes every time, but when he makes a joke its a belly laugh for me. Some really hilarious shit, sometimes I was honestly jerking off and then started laughing for 30 seconds straight... really good game.

Interesting plot and a really hot milf as an MC. Pretty hot for lovers of the genre, but not exactly my type of ntr/cheating, but its worth a shot. Animations looks kinda static despite being really hot. There are pretty nice dancing and lap-sitting scenes in the AVN. The game has a little focus on flashbacks too and free-roam sessions. Those ones vintaged style that has top view and looks like it came out from snes, game boy or something similar.

One of the best stories in NTR / cuckold / cheating categories. A staple competition to Anna and Lilly of the Valley. On the way to become genre classics. Pity it has problems with saves with each new release.

Ugh...

This game is really a mix of good and bad.

Though the main gripe I have is the animations. I mean.. I honestly don't understand how or why you would combine static with moving. It just looks out of place. Like one part of the body is moving and the rest in the background is a still image. There were a few hot ones, but those were fully animated. It is just the half ass or no-ass in animating other things that gripes me.

Not sure if any other people had similar issues, but I guess not seeing that this somehow possesses a strong rating. I do not see how with how the animations themselves are. So it makes me wonder if the other users that claim that these are the best animations or great scenes played that many porn games. The scenes alone do not make this a great game, far from it. Dunno how anyone can get off with only one part of body moving in a lot of scenes and the rest of the body just still and sitting there. Again, full animation or no animation, don't partial ass it.

Putting aside the faulty/shitty animations in most scenes.

The maps are a bit bland. Yea, honestly it is just that. I am not going to go deep into the whole house layout with doors next to one another. I guess I can understand some linear-ness, but still.

Next is scenes. While I don't mind long scenes, the thing is some are just unnecessarily long. You will find yourself sitting through a series of scenes just hoping to reach a save point to pause the game. Though perhaps that is too much to ask, I suppose dev had to try to extend something to make up for lackluster animations.

Then there is the random hidden stuff. You need to use hidden stuff to progress in story/scenes. I dunno, it looks optional but isn't? Some I wouldn't even notice if it wasn't for walkthrough like the towel/whatever in bathroom for Emma or the crow as I thought it was gimmick at first. The rest is kinda a bit more obvious.

Then the humor or lack of it. Some of it just feels forced and random like Family Guy writers came and toss their input there. Also the majority isn't really that funny. I mean, I guess I can kinda understand trying to make the game elements a bit more light-hearted. But are they really necessary in a NTR game? It just feels like more of an all 'its okay teehee' kind of thing and takes away from more seriousness of the game.

If it wasn't for a very few hot full fluid animations, my review of this would be a solid one. That is the only thing that saved this with an additional star.

This game was on my radar since it first started but it was a slow start, and I can understand that because you need to build the story , but now you are getting sex scenes everywhere and that´s what I have been waiting for. The girls are super hot with big butts and tits, very well made, but it could take a while until you see some action if you are just starting the game.

Render art is okay, nothing special, main character looks unique.

Dialogue is decently flowing HOWEVER

neither of those matter because of the sheer volume of transition screens and filler animations you're FORCED to sit through.

I've never been so angry at a game's presentation format as this, hundreds of unskippable segments containing slow pans or short repeat animations.

It even managed to make me hate things I normally like, seeing boobs bouncing or women walking! But after the 6th time or so, I'd just start thinking, oh god no, not another unskippable segment forcing me to witness some jenkee 80 frame loop....

It's not even that the animations are THAT bad, or that I'd neccesarily skip them all given the option - it's just that being forced into zero player interaction for long periods of little activity on screen start making me feel like a clockwork orange subject.... if you play this you'll soon see what I mean.

This frustration alone was enough to knock it down to 2 stars, despite anything else in the artwork or story.

Okay game which specializes in cheating and ntr.

- The good:

- Pretty main character (though she looks exactly like the MC of Manilah Shaw, almost if she is pasted from there)
- Nice bodies
- Plays fast with no grind or fighting

- Neutral:
- It is totally a visual novel, there are no choices and just just follow one path, you cannot steer her towards sluttiness
- You really need to pay attention to text, especially at the end of scenes, to get clues where to go next (there is no quest log)

- The Bad:
- All male characters seem immature, who get a giant boner from looking at underwear, or being close to a female
- The sex so far is rather tame and vanilla, I prefer more hardcore sluttiness, abuse, humiliation, degradation and corruption, which so far isn't there
- A lot of the scenes are her walking in a set of clothes, so you can watch her curves, which leaves me unaffected

If your kink is cheating or ntr get this game. If you are used to hardcore corruption and extreme, leave this (so far, oct 2022)

One of the best works in its sub-genre. The developer has presented a huge amount of content in a year. Not just in terms of the number of static images, but scenes in general. Dynamic, fun plot for a domestic story (no fairies, hypnosis, or other nonsense to advance the plot).
Minuses mostly stem from the game engine. There are some shortcomings in the animations. Definitely recommended to all fans of the genre.

Interesting scenes and situations, nice models.

However, some proportions are off (mother's bubble ass ^^' ) and navigating through the city (even with shortcuts) through the city isn't the best experience with low optional content.
RPGMaker shines when there is a lot of extra content, this looks like more of a RenPY game made with the wrong engine.

Super excited for this game so far, I'm giving it a 4 out of 5 because a lot could be done better but the models are gorgeous, the animations seem somewhat original, the dev apparently works fast (or so I've heard), the Daz rendered map is a fresh look on the whole RPGMaker thing and a lot of other things are pretty great but there's still room to improve, I might come back later and change the vote.
