Yeah, it can be a lot of fun when done right.I would love that. I can already think of a couple of games that have done this well and/or in a fun way if you like chaos. As long as it doesn't cause an early ending it's fine by me.
Also, I think it's pretty strange that Samara needs a selfish MC instead of altruistic or better yet Neutral. She clearly cares not only about Taylor but also Taylor's friends and also has no problems to do anything for them, including paying expensive meals like we see in the game. That doesn't really sound selfish to me.
I'm also curious to see whether in season 2 onwards we simply don't get romantic with or turned down by the girls that aren't in our personality path, or if at least some of them will dislike MC and become hostile to him because of it.
The way to do it wrong is the one you just mentioned, an early ending, it just means we reload an early save and change our choices from there...
It's better when instead of telling us "you lose" the game let us live with the consequences of our actions.
The altruism vs Selfishness system is more trouble than it's worth honestly, people aren't simple 100% good or 100% bad, they have layers...
It's the reason he needed to adapt things for Aurora to make sense, in theory she's a selfish person(which used to be her alignment) but there's more to her than that.
Same thing with Samara, on the surface she might be a person who just does what she wants... but she's very protective of her friend Taylor, and becomes very generous and willing to sacrifice for her, that's not selfish.
No idea how the system will come into play in S2... is it gonna be restricting you from certain things from the start or are we still in "wiggle room" territory? Will we still be able to change from altruistic>neutral>selfish back and forth? Or are we locked for good? And can you still do things with girls out of alignment?
