Personally I think it's Pareidolia getting his stress out, seeing as he had to apparently wait much much much longer then Maya. Tbh if I was waiting for trillions of "years or resets" and I heard someone complaining about a measly 20 thousand or so id also be kinda snappy with them. He literally got to us only to find out that we are broken. Also, he gave us actual time to grieve rather than just saying "boom" and healing you. I think that they all can do certain things at certain times. I'm not saying that Pareidolia will be good but I don't think he is the callous one either.
Hope I think is playing a risky game like hitogami from mushoku tensei where he builds up trust before making one betrayal that collapses everything.
Pareidolia seems to be the one that broke Sensei in the first place, and plans on him becoming the Collector afterwards:
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

I don't think Pareidolia has much actual power without Sensei, hence the whole "you have to trust me" and "I'm the only one who knows how to use you" stuff:
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

Even in it's season, where it should be at it's strongest, it's still trying to convince Sensei to choose it:
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

Not to mention, threatening to take more from Sensei to get him back in action:
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

If Pareidolia actually could just do whatever it wanted with Sensei, it probably would. It's likely only "letting" him grieve, because it has to.

Like Pareidolia has said:
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

Pareidolia's actual power also seems to revolve around manipulation. It doesn't seem to have the same level of raw power as the others. At least not yet.

Btw, not sure if it's been mentioned, but everything that has happened since the last beach trip, has been with Sensei connected to Pareidolia:
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
(You have to allow it or the game shuts off)

Also, just kind of realized Pareidolia may have tricked Sensei and Us into giving it power. The "will you allow it?" Is already in lower case, which isn't how that usually works, implying it is actually Pareidolia saying this.

Anyway, if you were wondering why shit went wrong after the 'Flowerchild' Chapter 3 Main Event, well, Sensei never disconnected from Pareidolia as far as I recall, and probably still hasn't. USER3 is probably still connected.

I think that paredolia is like a weak god but he uses intelligence to his advantage to overcome this so much so that when he removed Maya from Akira he said that if he wanted Maya back he would have to follow him thus having control over Akira.

It really looks like Sensei is some kind of glitchy computer:

-likes to connect to things by inserting his plug;

-when he connects into Maya's socket gets his data corrupted/corrupts her;

-freezes and acts on "autopilot";

-has graphic artifacts;

-gets hacked and taken over by malware to get his processing power used;

-seems to be often purged by a complete systemic reboot.

This would all fit with Pareidolia/Concerned being "a voice in his head" if this analogy applies to the Trinity

*Confirmed that Akira is an artificial intelligence with problems*

If this is the end of the game I can die peacefully and happily
The more I hear about this, the more I think that Sel will make her into some manipulative villain in the end, just to fuck with us and make us look like idiots for falling for her tricks and laugh at us for not noticing that those boxes that we helped her carry was full of evil mustaches she had to shave off to keep the good facade.

By the way, evil mustaches aside, what if the thing in those boxes was her feeling that she had to "transfer" to not go nuts, and what, ultimately, made all girls fall in love with us?

Quick question. What's your opinion on Pareidolia? Good, bad, in between? Do you trust them or not? Do you think they will betray Akira or not?

Personal op is that they are in between. They are good for Sensei but will also use bad methods to achieve good things. Personally I trust Pareidolia for now but do think that they will in turn betray Akira in one way or another.
i think he's a bitch

For me he is the god who looked at us and said "I'm going to make you Maya fans wish something worse than hell for me" and since then I wish something worse than hell for him :)

If this is the end it will have been worth suffering for so many years at the hands of Selly
I fully expect Maya's Route in this game, it's a shame it's only going to happen in 6 to 8 years ha ha ha.........:(

DesKel, you who are omniscient about them, do the gods have their genders confirmed?

It's just difficult to write and not remember what the genre is.

I think that would be a pretty cheap twist tbh. The story has built up Maya and Akira's relationship way too much for it to be not genuine. What I think the twist (which is hardly a twist at this point with how many hints we've had) will be Akira realizing that he did the same thing to her that Sekai did to him, which might have been the realization that led him to suicide in the first place.

The unknown narrator used the pronoun "He" to refer to the first and the second god in Rewrite and There is Nothing, respectively.

The same narrator used "it" to refer to the third god in Word of the Day, and I can't recall if any other event that has third god's presence in there ever uses specific pronouns (since almost always it's pareidolia talking directly to you during those moments)

Also, completely unrelated, sneaking in one of my favorite quotes from George Carlin

As long as Akira doesn't kill himself at the end of this game I can say that I'll be fine, now if that happens I'll be the one going into autopilot mode :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Kind of.
  • The Callous god tends to be referred to as He and apparently has/had a giant light-penis. Yasu also uses male pronouns in reference to her god, and HOPE is apparently "Everyone's Father":
    You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
  • USER2/The Wire god was referred to as he by the Narrator that introduced it, in the 'There is Nothing' Chapter 1 Main Event:
    You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
    It also seemed to have a male voice in the 'Word of The Day' Chapter 2 Main Event.
  • Pareidolia on the other hand doesn't seem to have a notable gender, as far as I can recall. Simply referred to as it:
    You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
As for other beings:
  • Nao seems to prefer being female based off it taking Ami's form, but it can apparently be whatever it wants:
    You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
  • The World Itself seems to prefer being female based off it presumably taking Sekai's form, but Yasu referred to it as well, it. It's also apparently the last of it's kind according to Yasu:
    You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
  • The Old One is referred to with male pronouns:
    Yeah, That's "The Old One":
    You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
    It's shown up a bit:
    You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
