Does anyone know what the animations and pictures in this game are made with? Is this the illusion studio?

Yup. It's created in Koikatsu CharaStudio. You can download character cards on the first post, if you want to play with it/them yourself.

The animations are pretty much stock--but the still images are mostly processed in Photoshop or some other image-editing software.

She'll participate in 1 challenge, she has a moment with Io. Probably a couple lines in the pre-post game chats. But don't expect personal progress with her.
She even has an event in 0.50, but that's likely going to be Yuki focused. She just had a major milestone in 0.48.

Yumi is definitely more mature now, but the issue came from Io's lack of maturity, not Yumi's.

During the conversation, Yumi was very respectful and open to Io. It was Io that went full-on "only I'm allowed to have problems" - as if growing up with a junkie mother that abandoned her on and off, and finally abandoned her for good was small potatoes.

Io's a bitch.

It's quite simple, you need to practice, you're not born with the synaptic connections to willfully control that response, you need to build them up, first step is just becoming aware of what's firing when you gag, consciously mapping the feeling, then you practice resisting it. It's virtually unheard of for someone to be born without the reflex, but plenty of people learn to suppress it. Took me a few months to get it down to almost perfect. I can throat a few inches past the back of my tongue... although it's been more than a decade since i last had anything down there... maybe i'd be rusty now, not sure how much like riding a bike it is...
