If it's just suffering for the next 3 chapters I don't think I can keep playing.

Just suffering is boring. Sure it would be more like monthly surprise suffering

So, yeah, things are likely just in the "Petty" phase. It hasn't really gone dark yet. I expect things to get much worse.. especially for Ayane unfortunately.

I'll give this chapter 2 bluejays at max. Maybe 3 if there would be interesting homicide, but I sure that if it would be a homicide, everyone would act like nothing happend which makes it ~ equal to bluejay.

Hovewer, it might get much darker whenever we finaly go to Sana events or if Maya would be reset in the end of chapter (technicaly, drama would be in chapter 4 in this case, but whatever). And there is always a room for something completly unexpected.

Also would be really nice if there would be some kind of trolley problem when player is forced to decide, but it will make development of future stuff extremly hard so Sel would probably not do this until it would be much closer to the end.

Considering that Selly's writing sucked at the first chapter, this is a good change of pace at least.

I still don't get why do you think chapter 1 sucks, especialy when i started playing pre-0.24.0. Nonetheless without chapter 1 there would be much less empathy which definetly amplifies effect

I don't think losing fans is avoidable if you want to switch the vibe of the story. I'll wait untill chapter 4 is out to fully judge. Though there are also 35 endings for all solo paths and as long as everyone lives I think I can deal with the dark stuff.

It is relatively strange for me that guys who love this game even after events like "Bluejay" or "Things that hurt" might be afraid if this game become even darker. It is not like fans are not prepared to real shit

I'm still amazed I originally downloaded this game looking for porn and now i'm emotionally invested. It's like Teaching Feeling all over again.

I'm just waiting for the Black Souls stuff to kick in, where murdering, raping, and sacrificing your love interests is in your best interest (to a degree).

I used Bluejay in terms of "rank drama level on scale from 1 to X Bluejays", so 2 Bluejays mean 2x darker then Bluejay. It's not about quantity, it's about quality

It's my bad, I initially misread your reply and thought you said "Chapter 2 Bluejay" as in Bluejay from Chapter 2.

There is a problem with sacrificing girls without real choice and this problem is called "35 single endings". I mention Maya's death because idea of fighting entire world to return her (or other girl with equal value) someway converges with storytelling vector, but if there would be multiple ressurections in the end it would became Shaman King. And by ressurection i mean return of identity gone with reset, not a simple new Maya in new cycle.

Nonetheless i expect some real choices with consiquences anyway, because it is essential part of real darkness. Just in a way when Selebus would not be forced to write multiple versions of any group event

Played this game a decent of the way through about a year and a half ago, but stopped due to the lack of sex scenes in each update. As someone who has interest in the characters and story, but wants to actual porn in my porn games, is it worth coming back after a year?

I was thinking more of a "god has decided you must tribute one girl from the rooftop or be reset", and you get to choose between Ayane or Maya, but no matter what, god takes Maya. You either have to deal with Maya feeling betrayed before being reset, or Ayane feeling betrayed and watching the girl you chose over her be reset anyway.

I do think that being "reset" isn't really a game over scenario though. Take Sensei for example, he's been reset countless times, yet he's still regaining memories. Even if Maya gets reset, she might just come back later on. Although, I think she might prefer some memories staying gone.

I am hoping those "35 endings" aren't just variations of the same things except the girl is pregnant in their second ending, though. If Sel goes that route then he could easily create over 40 endings just by giving each main girl one pregnant ending and then a non-pregnant version of that ending. (Something I find incredibly lazy in Multiple Ending games)

Still, I definitely expect some real choices with real consequences down the line. Some endings being like Nodoka and God Sensei turning the rest of the cast into sex puppets forever, or Sensei losing his mind and being swallowed up by an infinite amount of variations of Sekai that rape him eternally, would be interesting. I am definitely curious whether the "True ending" will be considered a Happy ending or more of a somber acceptable ending.

Not for the porn. The quality and quantity of porn scenes has been decreasing, and some are even skipped over like Futaba's dorm war date, or the new Makoto impregnation sex, just fade to black and over.

Depends on the characters you're interested in. Some still have no sex scenes while others have multiple repeatable ones, as well as some during the story itself.

Definitely not a game I'd recommend if you're just wanting wholesome nymphos or something though. Porn isn't really the priority. It's like a bonus at best.

Just to mention, there were a lot of sex scenes starting from patch when you droped the game and some of them were really interesting. But no way you would be satisfied if you continue to play it when you reach current patch. I'll personaly suggest wait untill chapter 3 would be fully released, play it and then drop until you wish continue to play not for the porn stuff.

I can't say it is impossible, but it is definetly not what I expect Selebus would do. According to Maya, Sensei resets with so different personality that she cannot believe he is the same person. And also, he regains exclusively pre-reset memories which is not a big deal when full reset comes yearly and you already get used to it, but not when all your common story with somebody gets wiped. It is very big deal, which obliviously can be used to plot development, but would make coresponding route incomple. Call it a theory, but I doubt Selebus wants to disapoint us this way

Yep... Hoping Sel comes back and adds some more wilder repeatable sex scenes for Ayane after that, at least. It's a little immersion breaking to think they went so long and then everything is just mostly normal afterwards.

Same with the invite over events being out of date. Of course, the story comes first. Just hope the sex scenes aren't put off to the point it hurts the story.

Actually, there were a few times if I recall correctly, that Sensei seemed to recall memories from previous Senseis during the loops. Not just pre reset. One of these being a crying Maya giving him a handjob which seemed to be how a past Sensei broke. Of course, I could be wrong, and even then this could be something only Sensei could do.

There's also how Tsuneyo has seemed to recall previous resets, but she's an outlier for sure.

I'm hoping the girls get more than one ending each, but I can be rather greedy. Either way, I'm looking forward to them, and whatever plot diverging shows up.

Nah. I think we're more likely to see this end a lot sooner than expected, as he's already said he has ideas for his next project, and will not be repurposing KK art assets for it
