Why is Selebus posting more previews than usual
Must be that old christmas cheer.

I am so living for looking at Nodoka and finding her to be the cutest. Will those feelings survive her actual new outlook on life when the update rolls in? who knows. So I'll keep making it count until then (as it may be shortlived):

Look at my little Nodoka! Isn't she the cutest little martyr that reedemed herself and now can do no wrong? She's so cute!

Don't think I quite understand what a green and red path is. I see exclamation marks tho but not on my end yet

If you have the guide mod, events with exclamation marks can be clicked on to get a hint about what to do so you don't miss events.

If you miss events, they appear red in the list and any playthrough that misses events is called red path. Completionists want to watch every event and we call that the green path.

There's also lore insinuations that green path is the proper way to play the game. Some red path choices result in oddly comedic writing that doesn't fit the game around them (Like someone fucking their comatose patient on green path turns into them crying out "WHY CAN'T YOU CUM" on red path)

Why is it so hard to get a straight answer out of any of you? Is it so hard to believe that there are people in this world who just likes to do things right the first time without going through too much effort to get there? Like You tell me the concept but don't give me the base, the thing I'm suppose to stand on to move on. Have I just not gotten to the point where this green and red path thing is explained?
If you look at one of the lists of events—there are a couple of ways to do this, but the easiest is to click on the Event Tracker button at the bottom of the screen—you'll see as you complete scenes that they turn from grey, pink (h scenes), or blue (not sure what that means) to green. If you're blocked from a scene, the name gets struck out and turns red. So the green path is completing every scene, and the red path... isn't. Sounds like you want the green path.

I'm on the red path at the moment; there's one scene that, while I did actually play it, I really didn't enjoy [/understatement]. For the moment I'm playing as if I didn't make the choice that led to that scene. If it turns out that doing so locks me out of being able to keep moving forward in the future, I'll use URM to change the variable and advance. But not going to replay that scene in the gallery. Nope.

To see every event without missing anything:

-Go to first page and download autoVN mod

-In game go to settings and make sure autovn mod is on

-Restart the game and hold ctrl until you reach something different. (It skips grinding for lust and affecting points so you just need to hold ctrl)

-When you are givin choices, act like a complete piece of shit and choose the most morally wrong option.

This method shows the all event are there without missing anything except grinding for points. (And to be honest who even wants that.)

Nodoka must have cottoned onto Sana being a freak in the sheets.
Gosh. You think the Nodokathon might have given her (and every other girl there) that idea?

ETA: Also, it's interesting that Sana isn't shutting down or backing away. Not sure she looks particularly happy, but one-eyed Sana would have crumpled under that Nodoka gaze, don't you think? Huh.

I would think he would want to he ahead of schedule becuase of Christmas and to avoid delaying the update like before because he forgot about Christmas.
yeah, stop forgetting about Christmas, Selebus! Back to literally forgetting about writing Rika's events instead :ROFLMAO: aka the most neglected character ever.

I recommend checking out the Wiki:

And just playing the game while doing what you want to, the first playthrough.

This is not the kind of game where you'll understand everything the first time (or probably even the 10th), and there are different dialogue and reveals depending on your choices, lust points, affection points, and the timeline of when you do certain things.

Then there's how future info will alter your personal perception of past info and vice versa, making replays more or less necessary, and we aren't even halfway through the game yet.

The "Green Path" is what it is called by fans when you don't have any Events with a red line through them, and they are all green, however there are things you'll miss no matter what you choose on one playthrough.

The Events themselves have variations whether you miss them or not. URM can reveal the variations throughout the game if you let it notify you on the paths, though.

Overall: Just play and have fun. I personally don't use any guide as I prefer doing everything at least once. I prefer the big picture.

Once you get caught up, then you can find (work in progress) timelines and theories here, without worrying about spoilers.

Nodoka's always known:

Even tried to give her a thoughtful gift once:

And may have created the Nodokathon just to give that side of Sana an excuse to exist:

Also, Sensei actually lost(?) a bet with Nodoka because of it:
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
Which I hope comes up one day, just to see what happens.

Am I perhaps too invested in this single plotline? Maybe...but only the future will tell.

Speaking of other threads, I noticed one thing that I found quite funny and interesting.
You guys know that we dunk on Selebus all the time, complaining that he is an arrogant dickhead and that he used to be a good boy who'd post in this thread before he became a pissy boy.
Looking at the Being a DIK thread, I found it very interesting, if not even surprising, that the general consensus was that Dr. Pink Cake (the dev of BaDIK) is a greedy asshole who used to be wholesome but turned on his F95 community and is now swinging the banhammer at people daring to say anything negative :KEK:
Here is a quote from the user Better Cock Spock as an example (I really hope he does not mind me quoting him):

(There is a whole discussion about it going on in that thread if you want to check it out)

It's funny to me to see the parallels. We shit on Sel all the time, but I guess it might just be, to some extent, in the human nature to become an egocentric ass once the money starts flowing in big time. Sure, DPC is presumably making a lot more cash than Sel, but the change in demeanor still seems very synchronic.
It makes me almost forgive Sel a little bit, or at least understand him better, seeing that he is not an outlier apparently.
And you still gotta give him credit for being very reliable and punctual with his updates, he rarely misses content wise as well. Whereas someone like DPC is getting criticized for the longer and longer delays in updates (now over 12 months for the upcoming one, likely to go to about 14 or 15 months) and relatively subpar content as of late.
I'm curious to see what you guys think of this.
I've actually seen another Dev with a similar story, the creator of Twisted World, a Trap, Futa, male/female role reverse game that was surprisingly really good and had really good models was up to update 0.73, game was going good, the story was entertaining and the MC was fun to play and read. Dev was getting pretty good money (No where near Sel but for where he lived he had said he was making more then his local doctors) his update were large and pretty consistent, longer updates taking a bit longer but well worth the wait. Admittedly though his last two updates were huge and had good scenes, the story had started to feel like it was losing quality and one big thing of the game was that every female was very top heavy, talking anime style bigger then heads and for the most problematic character bigger then her torso so he started having to deal with clipping issues (usually I would be turned off by comedic sized boobs but I enjoyed the game enough to look past it). At the time he was also very vocal about updates and issues which was good.

After 0.7 came out he had started to express being unsatisfied by how the game was going and I think by this time he had started to beef with the F95 thread for his game as after the whole Patreon purge started to be a thing he moved to Subscribstar and while usually people were good about it, the game had gotten leaked before it's public release (He would release it for higher tier subs first). At this point he announced that he would take a break and remake the game, take a year to do all the hard stuff (Make assets, the map, programing etc) so that when he's ready all he has to do is put it together and release the new stuff, meaning faster updates. At the time he was pretty trustworthy and usually kept to his word (Though I think the first sign of issues was he had a tier on his pateron/subscribstar for $100 which had it's own issues) which most of us were cool with, and on his discord he was pretty good at keeping people informed about what was going on.

I think this is when the problems really started to happen, he had taken that year but never paused or stopped the money coming in (Or got his supporters to just go for lower tiers as he worked on the new stuff) and since he was still getting paid while just working on stuff in the background I think that changed his mind set, he started being less informative about updates, said he had finished the hard stuff midway through the year and was working on tweaking and coding (Which he is terrible at and refuses to hire someone to help cause he claims he had a "bad experiece" with a coder before so only wants to do it himself) come Nov of 2023 where he had claimed he had most of the assets and "hard stuff" done in June/July he finally annouced the first update to the remake, to be released around Christmas time as a present for all, but the date came closer and no info, the date was a week away and he said he had to dely due to family coming over and so had to push the release in Januray, Understandable but then Jan came, no information, Feb came and he said he was having issues but would release the update soon, I think by the end or Feb or around March he finally released the first update, which only had half of what he said he would release and from the guy who usually puts out around 1-2 hours of content at his smallest updates, this one was 15-20 minutes if you read everything and did everything. He then promised to get the second half of the update as soon as he can, at this point he also started to send his loyal modders of his discord to attack people here who were saying negative stuff and banning anyone on said discord that said anything bad, even in a joking manner. He has finally released the second half of the update but its missing scenes and looking like he's now expanding it with "new" ideas.

He went from 2-6 months per update (6 months being hours of content and lots of proper animations) to now it being almost two years since the first game's last update, one year from the first promised remake update and he's only released I think 2/3 of it. Everyone is upset, bashing him too the stars calling him a milker and acting terribly, he attacks F95, the place that got his game on the map and has bragged (In now deleted posts) he's making tons of money, more then doctors in his country. He also spends a lot of time making Koikatsu cards for extra money (During the year he showed off over 100 characters he made that he said will be showing up in the game) But yeah, reading about Sel reminded me of him. Funnily enough he also uses a S name, Snatz.

U2 before Joshua Tree vs U2 after Achtung Baby.

At some point, you buy into your own hype and become insufferable.

Ah, thanks! I knew it had to be something functional.

I recommend checking out the Wiki:

I believe VoidExile doesn't generally replay. Though I he (he?) may find this game more suited to multiple playthroughs.

But VoidExile, if you don't want to plan on replaying, may I make a couple of suggestions?

  1. Bookmark a hexadecimal-to-text translation tool (ideally one that has some other cryptographic help). There are whole swaths of information hidden behind not-very-secure-but-thouroughly-annoying "code." (The wiki has most of those chunks translated, but not all, and it's not always a) up to date or b) easy to navigate.)
  2. Have some way of searching through the actual programing code. The .rpy files in the game folder are basically just Python-flavored text files. Having a coding tool of some sort will allow you to search quickly for particular strings of text and, for example, copy and paste those big chunks o' alphanumerics into that translation tool I mentioned above. FWIW, I use Visual Studio, because I already had it on my computer; anything that can search through a whole directory would work, though. At this point, I play with VS open in the background for when I am trying to figure out what the heck I just saw. I can track down a particular image that flashes on the screen for the blink of an eye, find alternate text that plays out, for example, if you ask a particular girl to use a certain nickname for you. All sorts of things.
Others have already suggested URM--I find it invaluable for not getting lost, but it did take a while to get used to. It does spoil the immersion a bit, but also makes it clearer what choices Selebus made, which I find interesting. YMMV

Actually, great call. That was a very weird meltdown for a game I'd been enjoying.

Also a great call. U2 always had huge egos, but also produced some great music. But after Joshua Tree? Eesh.

Decided to go through with this anyway. For convenience sake, I will be doing daily reaction spoilers like this one. So for obvious reasons, make sure you are ahead in progress if you don't like spoilers (I switched to autovn mod recently). This marks Day 1 of playing the game, technically day 2 as I started the game late last day.
