I'm actually curious about what exactly makes Futaba so boring.
I know she is boring, she is boring to me, but I just can't pinpoint what exactly makes her so boring.

Sel shafted Futaba with her creation. Futaba has been branded as the "titular" chubby, low self esteem, bully victim. The main issue is when you compare her to her two best friends Rin and Nodoka. She doesn't half the charisma those two have. Which is why Sel made them Futaba's best friends because she lacks it. Which is why they often appear in her events and they often overshadow her in them. Even when she's by herself, Futaba isn't what makes the event interesting. Some other outside force, is what makes that event memorable. For example her date event in the dorm wars. That event isn't memorable because of Futaba. The only thing that made that event interesting, is the fact that Himawari makes an appearance. Same thing with Toys, Fish Eyes, and her TSS.

I personally don't have anything against Tsukasa. Some people just don't like her for her bratiness and for the same reason is why people "like" her.

I don't know how far into the game you are, but Chika fucked a lot of people's 100% saves. They were more outraged at Chika for ruining their save than what Nodoka did Yumi. That along with Chika's rapid Yandere descent is why Chika isn't well beloved anymore. I personally still like Chika, it just sucks to see such a beloved character's fall from grace.

Tsuneyo gets more interesting the deeper you get into the game and she's fucking hilarious.

I'm not going to get into Ami because this post would be longer than the bible. And you are spot on with Tsubasa.

Yeah, Futaba takes the crown for most boring character. It used to be Karin, but after something happens to her and she call Sensei out on his bullshit, you actually get invested in her.

Been watching a playthrough of the new chapter of coffin of andy and leyley and I got to say; there has to be something wrong with me because I keep enjoying playing/watching fucked up scenarios with really well developed characters, lessons in love and coffin of andy and leyley being extreme examples.

Like "oh shit this is completely and utterly fucked....., I want to see more", there's gotta be a name for these types of situations. It's has to be weird that I'm so invested in watching broken people hurt and break the world around them and how they dig a bigger hole for themselves

I feel like you may be projecting. If that's the impression you got from the thread, let me reiterate for the friends I can safely represent on this matter that we couldn't care less. Obviously that doesn't account for everyone here, but surely for the larger (and saner) part.

Selebus is pretty adamant on "make of this game what you will", and it will not be some random group of people on a thread he doesn't even like that will try to tell you otherwise. Anyone can play however they want. More power to them.

It is unfortunate that so many people felt attacked as if we were telling that they were wrong in playing however they want. That was not our intention. Hopefully, we can move on from this with the mutual understanding that saying that the green path is the truer story doesn't equate to saying that one is wrong by choosing to miss events.

I wouldn't judge anyone of either group.
I think the decision in Stomachache is a very individual one.

I'm a completionist and also like to theorize, so i had to go with the green path because it's very likely that the green path contains the most lore info. In a perfect world i would have chosen the other option though.

That being said, there's one thing that i don't completely get.
And that's how some people pretend to shrug things like that off and say "Thats just pixels, how can you xyz...", and at the same time post something like their fav char tier lists.
With Sel being the most hypocritical, in a way, of all, with him saying the exact same about wizard contend.
Does he want us to be invested in the story and characters or not?

In the end it's about one's own individual decisions and individual moral concept i think, unless one managed to be completely detached of it all ofc.
I also don't think there's anything bad in warning people about the technicalities, that one might miss "plot" in the red path, in an informative way.

Seeing lots of Tsubasa hate. I understand, but when she took the phone and said she was calling the police and then later when she delivered some just punishment to the tune of my new favorite Christmas song .

I have never before found much enjoyment or depth in stories with "mommy" characters. Always been more of a fan of the cassic dominant male submissive female themes.

Sekai and Tsubasa have opened my eyes. They may be wrong, but dang, I sure do feel things.

I don't get the Tsubasa hate (Im into mommy types).
Cant help but feel like she's gonna royally fuck over Sensei at some point for her "plans" though.
Archetype or not I'd be steering very clear of her if I was Sensei.
