I can see that somehow Sel could blame us (this thread) about the attack and some shit. At least he confirmed (we already knew) that LiL is going on for 5 more years
Thing I've always wondered about this is whether the halfway done / 5 more years quotes include the purity routes at all, and the main story is closer to 80%
Though my quick guess about how many characters are left to lewd needed 4 more resets so it's probably main story at 50%.
Another piece of advice I'll throw your way. On your first playthrough, make a save for every moment that feels weird or has some narrative tension going on. It's a better way to look back over an event than the replay function, and as you get more invested into the story, you'll naturally want to go back and revisit some events to pick up on some narrative symbolism you missed on the first run. While this will inherently mean you'll have hundreds of saves, I actually forgot to save a few crucial events early in the story, and I've been kicking myself struggling to use the replay function to go back over and look through some foreshadowing.
This bigly, I thought I'd be smart and use the replays to handle viewing old events and I was happy I completed chapter 2 in 15 pages of saves, but then I started reaching event chains and sparse saves were starting to fuck me revisiting old events, and some old events don't have music playing in their replays so big moving scenes like Niki confessing in the lobby just feel empty in the silence.
I'm already planning another green playthrough where I do everything the same with all the ridiculous grinding I've done again except basically every event gets a save on top of the interesting dialogue splits. I'll also redo the screenshots I was planning to use as lore quick references because I've fucked too many on my current run.
God help me having to read the bonus dialogue again.
As a slight counterpoint to this from a player who recently caught up after not playing for a couple years; I think the supernatural plot works a lot better for new players that get to see it sequentially than it does for people playing update-to-update.
That's not at all to say the supernatural plot is perfect, and I would generally agree that the character stories are the strong points of the game, but tbh in chapter 4 I've had more problems with how some of the characters are written than I have with the supernatural plot.
Chapter 4 is also just aging better once the entire reset is completed. There's been a lot of agony that you just to sit and fester in for a month if you're playing per update.
