So I guess that settles it, we're NOT getting to understand what is going on with the upside down house in LiL - it will be its own game. I guess the same could be said to a lesser extent about Yuu and his "friends". He had already said that some stuff would not be explained in this game, and I guess this clears some of that up.

I guess, good for him? I don't see how it's good for us, unless censoring LiL was actually something that was about to happen.
God, make it end. Nothing is more funny than LiL universe for a game constantly laughing for sequels. I just want all answers answered and leave myself be. This game truly destroyed all my impressions on VNs.

I mean, as long as he keeps getting paid in dollars from foreign supporters, rather than actually integrating into Japanese work culture, he should be fine. Japan is a great place to live if you don't have to work there. He says he bought a house, so most of the problematic stuff is already taken care of anyway.

Regarding his schedule, if we are to believe that he's been writing multiple games at the same time, one could theorize that the schedule should remain the same after settling down. But I don't buy that, no. Furthermore, I think it would be rather risky for him to engage in anything without LiL as a lifeline (which, in turn, would indicate trying to preserve this lifeline for as long as possible).

Edit: another thing is that he said he found a company to sponsor him, and that after LiL he'd be creating his own company. So those are different things. I don't know what arrangement he has with the sponsor, but maybe he's even paying them to sponsor him, or doing other work for them, idk.
That's the thing: I don't think any of these scenarios could grant a self employed individual with no prior degree in Japan (I think, I dunno), his sponsorship, and that's why I am not exaggerating when I say I am very, very surprised about things working out him without compromising his obsession with LiL.

Buying a property won't quality; founding a company mostly won't qualify unless you are bringing alien tech to make Japan great again; self sponsorship won't qualified as it is not even allowed in almost all circumstances, especially in the case of "found a company willing to sponsor him". He will really have to become a part of Japanese work culture as an international hire with talents not available among local hire pool, and does whatever it's in the job description because all of those are the justifications of not just why we hire him, but why we hire him AND offer him sponsorship to physically be here in Japan.

All of those are perhaps possible of him; maybe some Eng teaching or translating perhaps. However, still devoting himself to LiL with the same amount of fervor while doing all those? Not so much. It's doing what this JP company wants from you that earns yourself your legal status; LiL will be a side business that just happens to be his main thing. Therefore, without making LiL his JP company tasks (not that I or he himself wants to), I simply cannot see a future of him working on LiL the same way he did in the past 5 years if he officially accepts their offer, and I don't believe any Japanese company capable of sponsoring an international hire would leave him 4h of free time per day. At this point I am simply curious about his offer letter because I legit thought someone of his stature and ego making it happen, outwitting three sets of very rigid rules (immigration, international hiring, and his own ego) is something way less possible that rolling a natural 20 with D4 using your dick. Maybe my dick just isn't big enough.

Anyway, congrats Sellyboo! Have fun driving on the wrong side of the road permeantly! (seriously having your controls inverted is only fun for the first 2 days)

Were I petty, I'd post Selebus real face here and say "your face is a preview" [...] but, I guess it's expected?

Even though we lost two Ayane events, it should still be very hard to get any previews from this update without it being a major spoiler (either to Ayane's epilogue or their return from there).

In before the Yamaguchi clan canonically runs cash for visa sponsorship rackets.

Not gonna lie, when I first saw what he looked like it hit me pretty hard. He shares a lot of similarities with how Sensei looks. Makes me wonder, did he make Sensei to look like himself, or make himself look like Sensei? Is Sensei really a self-insert character?

Yes, and every anime character to ever exist with medium length brown hair and glasses was inspired by Selebus himself

He says he threw whatever together for Akira's appearance and that he also chose his eyes just to communicate that there's something off about him.

We'd have to know a lot more about Selebus to draw the parallels but I don't think it's impossible. It'd be one thing if this was a planned out story written in one go, but it is a project of over ten years that he says is, more or less, not planned at all apart from how everything ends.

Maybe not all of Akira is Selebus, but he said the clash with religion was also a part of his own background, and I'd be surprised if some measure of Akira's monologues weren't just Selebus thoughts. It's hard to say because all characters are Selebus at the end of day. I don't know.
