There isn't an update this month, but I've got something to share that is definitely just as good. I wrote two patches to fix things that annoy me in LiL.

The first patch fixes the missing font symbols that show up as blank rectangles, both in the text box and the history window. This doesn't change the font for any previously working text.

The second patch ensures that replays show events in their entirety. Selebus coded some replays to cut off early, hiding important lines of text or even entire closing scenes. This prevents that. (Note: the patch works with or without URM. Some replays have scenes you can only see by changing the path with URM.)

For those of you that have played OOT, does the writing get significantly better as the game goes on? I played like 2-3 hours of it and was kinda shocked by how amateur the writing seemed considering it was such a popular game.

Not really a US citizen, but this is what I found. Bit of background here, the bolded section is what's referenced later.

(a) In this subchapter:

(1) “Obscene” means material or a performance that:​

(A) the average person, applying contemporary community standards, would find that taken as a whole appeals to the prurient interest in sex;​

(B) depicts or describes:​

(i) patently offensive representations or descriptions of ultimate sexual acts, normal or perverted, actual or simulated, including sexual intercourse, sodomy, and sexual bestiality; or​

(ii) patently offensive representations or descriptions of masturbation, excretory functions, sadism, masochism, lewd exhibition of the genitals, the male or female genitals in a state of sexual stimulation or arousal, covered male genitals in a discernibly turgid state or a device designed and marketed as useful primarily for stimulation of the human genital organs; and​

(C) taken as a whole, lacks serious literary, artistic, political, and scientific value.​

(2) “Material” means anything tangible that is capable of being used or adapted to arouse interest, whether through the medium of reading, observation, sound, or in any other manner, but does not include an actual three dimensional obscene device.​

(3) “Performance” means a play, motion picture, dance, or other exhibition performed before an audience.​

(4) “Patently offensive” means so offensive on its face as to affront current community standards of decency.​

(5) “Promote” means to manufacture, issue, sell, give, provide, lend, mail, deliver, transfer, transmit, publish, distribute, circulate, disseminate, present, exhibit, or advertise, or to offer or agree to do the same.​

(6) “Wholesale promote” means to manufacture, issue, sell, provide, mail, deliver, transfer, transmit, publish, distribute, circulate, disseminate, or to offer or agree to do the same for purpose of resale.​

(7) “Obscene device” means a device including a dildo or artificial vagina, designed or marketed as useful primarily for the stimulation of human genital organs.​

And now as for the part of the new law thing that gets quoted. Once again, the bolded section.

SECTION 1.
Subchapter B, Chapter 43, Penal Code, is amended by adding Section 43.235 to read as follows:
Sec. 43.235. POSSESSION, PROMOTION, OR PRODUCTION OF CERTAIN VISUAL MATERIAL APPEARING TO DEPICT CHILD.
(a) In this section:

(1) "Promote" has the meaning assigned by Section 43.25.​

(2) "Visual material" has the meaning assigned by Section 43.26.​

(b) A person commits an offense if the person:

(1) knowingly possesses, accesses with intent to view, or promotes obscene visual material containing a depiction that appears to be of a child younger than 18 years of age engaging in activities described by Section 43.21(a)(1)(B), regardless of whether the depiction is an image of an actual child, a cartoon or animation, or an image created using an artificial intelligence application or other computer software; or​

(2) uses an image of an actual child younger than 18 years of age at the time the image was made with the intent to train an artificial intelligence model to produce visual material constituting child pornography under Section 43.26.​

(c) An offense under this section is a state jail felony, except that the offense is:

(1) a felony of the third degree if it is shown on the trial of the offense that the person has been previously convicted one time of an offense under this section or Section 43.23, 43.26, 43.261, or 43.262; or​

(2) a felony of the second degree if it is shown on the trial of the offense that the person has been previously convicted two or more times of an offense under this section, Section 43.23, 43.26, 43.261, or 43.262, or any combination of those offenses.​

(d) If conduct constituting an offense under this section also constitutes an offense under another law, the actor may be prosecuted under this section, the other law, or both.

I think everyone is seeing things because of the "a depiction that appears to be of a child younger than 18 years of age [...] regardless of whether the depiction is [...] a cartoon or animation", and because there have been moral panics before, and it's been neatly packaged as "think of the children". Again, not american, so I don't really know if the ones saying this is bad or the others saying this is a big nothing are right, just directly answering your question.
EDIT: Not giving background info about 43.25 and 43.26 because they are pretty much just the standard definition of promote and visual material, if a bit more restricted.

I just reached the first Tsubasa event and can now confirm that it is 100% the same tree that appears in the background when Nao introduces Sekai. Could I have checked this very easily back when I was talking about this originally? Yes, however I had already switched saves back to my current playthrough and was too lazy to keep hopping back and forth.

It also always occurs to me way too late when talking about this stuff that I'm 4 whole updates behind and the UI is telling me Tsuneyo and Kaori have lust values now so there's a whole lot of shit I'm not aware of that may be relevant lol

Noriko has had it for however long now, and Nodoka had it enabled for a long time even though you'd basically only get her lust points on red path.

Not to mention how Maya doesn't have any despite everything she's been through.

I mean, that feels more like just the weirdness of earlier updates, recently it's been pretty consistent, with Miku, Imani and Molly all gaining their lust values after the update where something happens and you become able to actually grind lust. Is this your way of trying to softly confirm nothing did happen with Tsuneyo and Kaori, or are you just worried about me being spoiled? If it's the spoilers thing, don't worry about it, I am unaffected by spoilers, and I typically would have spoiled myself without regret if I wasn't taking a break from the game and the forum when those updates were coming out. I spoiled myself on extremely major stuff like the ending of chapter 3 and the Io event and it did not affect my experience at all.

Kinda, though in their cases just don't build up expectations. There's a difference between a lust point and lust grinding after all.
