Yeah, she was a bundle of nerves, bursting with energy as she was finally getting her dream fulfilled, how quickly she grabbed her hand and started for the bathroom once Kirin said yes, once she was in the stall her head was nothing but "omg omg omg finally, yes, fuck, fuck, god, omg, yes!" and she could barely hear Kirin, not that she gave a fuck about her anyway, she was playing out HER fantasies, Kirin was basically a sex doll to her... so surreal to see...

Also, forgot to mention, but doesn't what Maya say back up Himawari's statement about her being a wish? That she's the loli girlfriend Akira wished for, he finds her one day, alone, needing him, in the rain, with no memory of before that day... almost like that was the moment she came into existence...?

The Sugoognib is strong in this one...

I was thinking it might be good to start using IPFS for game updates for this exact reason. I don't know too much about it, but from what I can tell, if you download a second copy of the game, it'll borrow any duplicate data from the first one. Even if it's a different version. Does that mean it gets deduplicated on disk? I'm not sure. But I'd be curious if anyone's looked into it.

I think you're just super letting your dislike of Kirin influence your judgement of the situation. She tried to bail multiple times, literally called Noriko for help and was pressured into "giving consent" at every turn. Saying "oh, she could have just screamed from the beginning" is about as fair as saying "Oh, Ayane could have just choked Kirin out from the beginning". And, I'll note, Kirin also thought Ayane would just get into it with time.

No one has to agree with me, but this is just ignoring what I said in favor of what you're accusing me of doing: in this case, letting your sympathy cloud your judgement of the situation.

I am not so much trying to compare the two as saying you are way understating Kirin situation by saying that she followed of her own volition without being forced or that it only "became an assault in the middle". Yes, being pressured by a predator when your feelings are compromised is also very much an assault. Though saying Ayane couldn't fight is kind of funny when she does exactly that later on.

Something I really liked about the scene is that Kirin tells her multiple times to not call her nicknames, and Haruka agrees, just to keep calling her nicknames. I thought it was a very good touch. It's not even registering to her what she's doing, and she keeps working against herself, that's how pathetic she was.

Another thing I forgot to mention was how it was confirmed that Ami has raped Maya constantly at every opportunity for a year - as we had been saying. And since I'm there, man, fuck Ami. Her entire conversation with Maya was disgusting and infuriating. I really, really hate her character - can't find it interesting at all, it's just vile.

I'm really curious how either of these characters are going to be redeemable by the end of the story. Both Haruka and Ami have done incredibly fucked up things and I genuinely don't see myself coming around to their characters without a ton of effort on Sel's part. Ami especially is like, 99% unredeemable (irredeemable?) for me at this point. He won't be able to just hand wave this away and go all "but her trauma! Excuse her for it!".

Isn't that the whole big thing that after Masahiro's death Maki realized that she fucked things up with Makoto and needs to put in effort to be a responsible one too? I don't really get what's up with all the contempt for trying to do the responsible thing too late.

I also don't think Chika was all that bad. Like yeah, she hurt Rin, but what was the alternative here? She got to a point where she couldn't get out without hurting her and would be literally losing her mind if she didn't get out, and while it was stupid, it was the kind of stupid expected from teenagers even without all the additional stuff weighting on Chika. It just kind of really sucks for Rin to be jerked around that much, but I guess we'll be offering her a shoulder to cry on next update, what's with 3 Rin events.

I agree with you on Chika here, teenagers (or hell, people in their 20s) are rarely going to be thinking clearly and making the best decisions. Of all the rabies related shit she's done, this is at least pretty understandable to me.

My first thought was about someone meeting Sekai, since she is on the shorter side. But then I also thought of Kyoko, seeing this is a Nodoka event and we actually see Kyoko later. But then I also thought of Shiori, since there are mentions of smoking in other events prior to this. Anyway, I have no idea.

Another thought: Christmalloween implies, to me, that the resets are just getting jankier and jankier as they happen. If this is all happening on a terminal, it feels like just more and more bugs are being introduced to the system due to the short reset cycle? I don't know. I don't completely understand the Terminal vs Wishing Well stuff still.

I think Christmalloween is a side-effect of Himawari's tampering. She was so focused on helping Akira and Ayane that she had to call in help to finish the maintenance cycle, corners were cut, and shoddy work as a result.

I think "Christmalloween" was just a hotfix implemented by Shiori, after all, TERMINAL 23 should have been done for on the last reset (from my understanding). Maybe it has to do with Shiori not really caring and just choosing the fastest solution without paying attention to the "implausibility" of the situation to the awakened, something that Himawari would have cared about.

Also somewhat of a meta-joke since it's trying to fix the timeline caused by Selebus' vacation time, given that halloween and christmas should have been different updates.

Or maybe it's a mix between this and what bargle said, since the need for the hotfix could have been to fix yet another hotfix that Himawari was trying to put together to salvage this world.

Unless there's some crazy drop about Haruka's past - which we have no reason to think - yeah I don't really see how can she be redeemed at this point. Her actions could be explained and her level of maliciousness could be dropped but as things stand I think that's it really, even if she 180s on her actions there's not really anything she could do to wash this update away I don't think and I'm sure there's more to come.

Ami's situation is more fantastical so I can see her being redeemed story-wise and turning a new leaf at some point but I can't see myself being able to view her positively again, personally, but I can see how someone else might depending on how things go.

And as an aside irredeemable and unredeemable are both words so you're good
