Review for v0.10, "Good" path
This continues to be one of the most underrated AVNs. The fact it uses Koikatsu may be what gives it more niche appeal, but it well deserves to be noticed with more well-known players like Corrupted Kingdoms and Lessons in Love. Where it really excels is how it balances black comedy, wit, romance, depravity, and tragedy. For a "porn game", the writing is excellent, up there with AVNs like DeLuca Family or Summer's Gone in parts. Unlike those, LTA does not take itself as seriously, except when it knows the subject is genuinely serious (a girl assigned to a rival "trainer" stands up to the big boss, pays the worst price for it, and the entire scene turns dark and sad).
One thing I commend the creators for, especially given the amount of extra work it requires, is essentially creating the same game twice, but in two different flavors: a Romance game ("the good path") and a Corruption game ("the dark path"). As a sucker for a good romance, I stuck with the former. You still get plenty of corruption content on this path, and it is as fucked up as advertised, but the romances with some of the love interests are some of the best I have seen. Characters that start as mere AVN caricatures become flushed out into developed characters in later updates, and I anticipate this will only continue as more updates are released.
Positives
++ Writing (especially characters and romance on Good Path)
+ Humor (black comedy, obscure references that fit well)
+ Plot is interesting and keeps me wanting to come back
+ Good diversity of LIs, both in appearance and personality
+ Pregnancy content (if not your thing, also avoidable)
Neutral
= Models (standard fare Koitatsu with some improvements)
= Animations (some well done ones in newer updates, however)
= Music (good music but can get repetitive over time; perhaps more tracks?)
Needs Improvement
-- Sandbox (the sandbox style can cause certain events to be done out of ideal order, and cause certain things to be known before they should be known and interfere with the otherwise excellent writing and user experience)
- Event triggers (while usually informative, the event triggers described on each character description sometimes miss things, so you end up having to click all around the sandbox to figure out what you're missing to progress; again, an issue with a sandbox-based system)
- MC character development (hardly unique to this AVN, but the MC takes a largely passive role in the story as a lackey for the Organization; while we get much of how the MC has processed his past traumas, before getting his new body, he goes from awkward cum-in-pants to suave walking cock pretty much overnight, albeit with the help of Cosby Spanish Fly; seeing the MC's mental progress during his descent into depravity (Dark Path) or ascent into hero of broken women (Good Path) would elevate the story (and romances) even further)
