Ren'Py - Life as an Innocent Waitress [v0.4.1] [Frisson Studios]

This is a fantastic game in this genre! It is a slow-burn (it warns you up about that up-front) so probably not something you'll want to play every update (would take a while to get to the same place). But if you are ok with that this is a fun little corruption game, descent art (not AAA but it does the job), it doesn't require huge suspension of disbelief to track the corruption, and the mini-games are fun enough to not get annoying. I'll certainly be watching it!

Not worth the time as it is now IMO. If after playing for 5 to 6 hours, there is no sex scene, then that game is not worth it. There is way too much of unnecessary stuff added to make this game seem more complicated, but it only makes it tedious. The premise is amazing, I like the slow corruption part as well, but there has to be some reward at the end readily available and not after 6 months as mentioned by dev.

Instead of diversifying the gameplay by adding more activities, try to add sex scene in already existing one. That's just common sense.

This game needs to stick to a simpler formula, right now it's doing too much and it's a fucking slog. There is a lot to manage right from the start, but this game keeps piling on more shit. "Minigames" like the train groping and barkeeping are horrendous, they boil down to clicking the only button available because you don't have any control as the player. It prizes itself as a slow-burn, but it lacks an interesting narrative. Most of the dialogue is uninteresting and you get forced into tiring plotlines, I specifically hated the night crawler, maid, and beach plots. Money is extremely difficult to get and keep, debt accumulates at an unrealistic rate and forces you to play one way. You don't have a choice, trying to avoid events results in punishments so harsh that you can't consider them. The grind is seriously bad because this game isn't fun, minigames are either too simple or not thought through.

Now to the sex scenes! All you get is groping and fucking finger sucking.

I love this game! The mechanics and the world you've built are amazing. However, I’d like to ask you to reconsider charging for DLCs or monthly subscriptions in the future. In Brazil, our minimum wage is about $1.33 per hour. This means a 'cheap' $20 DLC costs us more than two days of hard work. Keeping additional content free or using fair Regional Pricing would allow our community to keep supporting you without going broke.

I like the game, a lot. It's still in a early stage (there are a lot of path undeveloped or only started) but there is a also a huge amount of content. The characters are a little bit clichè: the girl with money issues, the perv landlord and roommates, etc. but they succeeded to be functional to the game workflow and not annoying.
What I will change is the grindy side: I understand that it is needed by game mechanics too enable new features, prizes and scene but why force the players to repeat endlessly the same scenes if they don't change? Add a skip button and move on...
Also, the UI is unpolished but efficient, maybe the game needs a better quest hint system: the objectives requirements are not so clear to me.

I have great expectations on this game and I wish the devs the best luck with this project

Probably the best Honey Select FMC corruption game in current development.

I've been playing this game since its first release and replaying it from the beginning each time, and it has been even better each time, even though the game has its rough edges on things to improve on from a gameplay perspective, like the subway events that shouldn't trigger each single day. The work that has been done is nothing short of excellence. Yes, it may feel grindy at the start, but so far it's been worth the payoff, and it's only going to get better as the corruption goes deeper.

Definitely looking forward to seeing how things develop in future updates.

Overal a great corruption game, can't wait for it to be finished so I can fully enjoy it. V0.4 already has loads of content and is definitely worth playing.

+ Fun and well thought-out bar and train groping minigames.
+ Good looking model and outfits
+ Corruption arc and the corresponding stat system are also well done, even though the story is a bit silly

- Some parts need a bit of balancing or fleshing out: full cleaning minigame should unlock after 2 or 3 days of trial. Bartending minigame needs to be less linear because you can clearly see that the progression isn't linked to your stats.
-Menus need a rework because in their current state they're rather ugly and a bit clunky
-Game needs a scene gallery

Its fine. It falls into the far too common bucket of exhibitionist games where every man is a lecherous rapist just waiting to commit assault, and every plotline is far too eager to get there. Its also quite grindy despite this. Pretty disappointing

I've been searching for a good game for a while, and finally found one! I've finished it and I'm very impressed with the game's diverse systems. I can't wait for the next update! (My personal preference)

This game is a really solid slow burn corruption game. The gameplay is brutal but not so brutal that you can't have fun, you have to manage a lot and i mean a lot, you have to manage money for rent, fixing locks to not be fucked in your sleep, buying better safes to keep that money safe, and for taxis to avoid going on the train. There is also Lust which when it reaches 100 you waste turns orgasming in bartending and on the train, there is exhibitionism which makes it so you don't have to waste turns fixing clothes when they tear them off you. Your grades which are kinda an end all be all stat, you have to go to college and study in order to keep your grades up and if they hit below an f you game over (however grades are probably one of the more easier recourses to manage). And most importantly your time and energy which allows you to do all of the above. There are more stats that i could talk about but i think you should just go play the game probably.

The game's story is nothing interesting, none of the "roommates" are narratively enthralling except the landlord or whatever his name is. This is your stereotypical tom nook debt and rent type of story and it has been done before really well but this game is not the worst, its just kind of meh. MC is also kind of nothing, though its easy to project a personality onto her since her only traits at the beginning are innocent, you can make her a lazy slob who doesn't pay rent on time or you can make her a clean freak who is obsessed with perfection or something inbetween there, her model is cute and fits the "innocent girl" look.

The gameplay is fun, except train molestations and barkeeping those are miserable and sluggish and opt to punish the players for not being built around dealing with them first rather then letting them feel out the game. The waitress segment is basically the meat of the game, where you manage serving alcohol to a bar full of borderline sexual predators (They get really handsy really fast) which is not really realistic but who cares, It's fun, my only issue is that there isn't a whole lot of feedback on what happens when you take too long to serve someone, nor does it really encourage fixing your clothes unless you are really grinding for exhibitionism.

The games difficulty is fun if you are trying to do an impure playthrough, but i will be honest trying to stay innocent feels nearly impossible and you're not gonna be casually going at it, nothing feels safe and i get that's what the devs intend but if you are looking to avoid corruption you will find no luck, this may change with the full release of the game (writing this v0.4.1) but a lot of future content seems leaned towards making purity runs more difficult. Overall this game is pretty good and deserves 4 stars at most, there are some pain points and if you don't like slow burn corruption or recourse management then this game probably isn't for you.

For anyone who likes slow-burn corruption genre this is a solid pick. I have tried this game a year ago, it was a barebone beta, that looked okay, but lacked content and could go either way. Well, I am pleased to say that this game is fleshing out to be a good one and I would put it on the watch list. With latest update it is on the right track.

Gradual heroine corruption, multiple story vectors, hot renders - hot scenes, decent minigames, skill progression. There is already some content for few hours of gameplay, and it seems to be progressing in a good pace for an adult game on adult website.

There are still some things missing, maid route feels underwhelming, subway game could be improved, stat systems needs work, I don't like missable scenes on the beach, the game needs more interaction with family members in the house, but It does look promising for the future with consistent content updates.

Editing down now to drop a star here. I've seen too many games out there that have tons of potential but drag the hell out of the story. I understand the goal here is "slow" corruption, but it's been over a year with I'd say no really enjoyable sexual advancement. Future updates either need to be more rapid in development or story progression, otherwise I think this game will continue to go downhill.

As of v0.2.2 Gameplay is quite promissing, not too complex but also not spamming "next". MC is enjoyable with good looking model, and progressiong (corruption) that doesn't feel rushed. Personally i like aspect of just a bit of text and not having to read a book every time i talk with someone.

Giving 4/5 because there are few things that steal that last star:
- cleaning apartment is just annoying as stains are barely visible in some spots and still there's time limit
- lack of any indication that you've reached end of current content
- and what i would say is the biggest issue: frequency of updates, as of now its reasonable to assume that this game wont be finished ever, and like most of similar titles, after "2 years" of "development" it will be marked as abandoned as interest starts to dwindle.

However i genuinely enjoyed the game so far, and hope i'll be proven wrong.

TLDR: Wait 2-3 years until there's porn. MC is hot, corruption is hot. But bad gameplay, almost no narrative, and no sex, BJ, etc. makes it not yet worth the time. When content is added I'll revise the review.

Positives:

• MC has a fantastic body! Thin stomach, round firm butt, nice size and firm breasts.
• Family relationships optionally set by player. Incest.
• Hot corruption process.
• Molestation on the public transport.
• In the bar customers gradually undressing, fondling, kissing MC, changing the acceptable behavior, getting her used to it.
• Stats for reputation, exhibitionism, arousal, stress, etc.
• Alcohol and drugs. Get MC drunk to take advantage of her.
• Exhibitionism.
• Sleep creeping. The brother molest MC at night, progressively getting lewder.
• Animations for a couple of scenes. These are good but very rare.

Negatives:

• No sex. No BJs, no handjobs. The most lewd scene is MC getting her pussy licked while asleep.
• Models are Honey Select. So, relatively low quality and basic. Nonetheless, MC still looks good.
• Low render quality.
• Gameplay is rough, not interesting. Feels like a chore.
• Very much a work in progress. Many features and types of scenes still missing. Many messages from the devs.
• The stats, such as "reputation" and "exhibitionism" suddenly no longer decrease, for no apparent reason. There's some limiter that isn't explained.
• Repeating the same activities every day. It's too grindy and seeing the same scenes and text is boring. Yes, the devs give a warning that the game is grindy, but that doesn't mean I have to like it or that it's good game design.
• Language issues.
• The devs don't use normal words such as breasts and vagina. Instead it's "girls" and "flower", respectively.
• Minigames that are too repetitive and difficult, such as cleaning. (After investing 5 skill points it's easy but still very boring.)
• Devs have disabled rollback (partially) and text history (standard Renpy features).
• RNG-based events.
• Almost no narrative.

This game is still in its early stages (v0.2.2), but it already won me over. From what I’ve seen so far, it’s without a doubt one of the best in the genre (maybe the best) and it quickly became one of my favorites.

The protagonist, Angel, is amazing. Not only is she gorgeous (and a redhead, which I can’t resist), but she also feels alive, like someone who changes little by little depending on your choices. That’s what makes it so fun: you can either keep her pure, fighting off all the temptations, or let her slowly give in and sink deeper into lust.

The nude scenes, while they might look simple at first, are actually really well done. Normally, I always go for the “pure” route on my first playthrough of these kinds of games, but here the temptation to let Angel fall is really strong, thanks to how well-crafted the scenes are.

Sure, there are still a few annoying bugs, but nothing game-breaking. The game has just been born, and there’s still a long road ahead. But honestly, with the quality shown so far and the dedication of the devs, I have a lot of faith in this project.
