When searching for a game to look at on here I generally sort it by stars while rarely swapping it to sort by likes. Was wondering what everyone else's go to choice was.

Usually on the latest updates page, but I've rarely used sort by likes since the weighted rating was implemented. Weighted ratings are so much better than likes.

Neither.

I don't really care how many likes or stars a game has. When I click on the Latest Updates page, I usually just scan over all the games on page 1 and 2, then start filtering on things that are tickling my fancy at the time.

I take note of the ratings and will usually read through some of the reviews, but unless they are all talking about clunky mechanics, paywalls, or buggy game code, the ratings don't affect me much.
I don't think I have ever really noticed how many likes any game has, it just isn't a thing I look for when I am searching for something to play.

Neither. Ratings are usually distorted with people who don't like certain fetishes/newbies who give 5 stars to anything with vagina in there.

First thing that sells the game is the banner, IMO. So, if I see 4 ladies or a tree in the middle of the field, I choose former.
Then synopsis. And then comments.

Unfortunately, that's the reality behind most of the reviews I've found in the few games I've checked here. Reading the reviews is not a good idea if you want to know if a game is good or bad, although at least some users bother in mentioning certain aspects of the game and the plot (if there's any).

Roughly in descending order of priority: tag-based filter/search, preview image(s), genres, description/devnotes etc., last update date, "initial release" (except translations of full releases), quick check for extreme outlier ratings i.e. 1 or 5 stars against other impressions.

In practice most of these take mere seconds to check in the thread OP, with description and devnotes being last chronologically not just for taking longer to parse but because they often aren't helpful.

Without a dislike button I see no reason at all to care about likes.

stars are good at filtering out absolute trash, like less than 2 stars means the game is likely not worth it. But! I still go into the reviews and count the number of them, if it has less then 5 reviews I simply don't consider the rating objective enough to mean anything. If it has more than 5 reviews and all are negative then I'll skip the game. But if a game is well reviewed it just means some aspects of it are good. It's very rare when it means that the game is good all-round. Of course, it's better to pay attention in details of the reviews yourself, rather than see the rating. Oftentimes I agree with the review entirely, but not with the rating it gives to the game.

Likes on the other hand - I think they are almost always proportional to the view counts. It's rare to see a popular game that doesn't have many likes. So both likes and views only show how much attention a game has, not how good it is.

My way of finding games is - look for games you already played and liked and see when they are mentioned in the context of other games - likely those games have something in common.

I would say stars with the reviews, Some people rating really saved my times from playing garbage when i was not sure, but the opposite can be said also, Sometimes people are too influenced by previous games like for example Oneone1 and blindly rate them 5 stars. Can really be annoying specially when you waiting hours for a heavy game to be downloaded.

I'm not grumpy, I'm just coded that way.

I usually trust likes more since they're easy to give and reflect how many people enjoyed it overall.
Well, I have a bad news for you, because the number of "like" include negative reactions...

I don't blindly trust 5-star, but if a game has only 1 or 2 stars, I believe it indicates fundamental issues that make the game untrustworthy.

Never actually paid attention to the likes and stars are pretty low on the priority for me.
First impression by banner/preview images > Checking tags > Checking Dev Notes > Reading comments (in which I sometimes read reviews)

Stars' correlation to game's quality is weak, but at least there is some.

Likes are entirely disconnected from it. Likes = "thank you, mr Uploader, for pirating this shit for us"

Stars are a very rough indication of the quality of a game's erotic component (though it becomes more accurate with the number of reviews). Likes indicate its popularity and visibility.
