the renders look good from the preview pics, so the fact that it has that rating must mean the sandbox is on another level of terrible

This truly was one of the most jarring turns ever taken in a VN.

the renders look good from the preview pics, so the fact that it has that rating must mean the sandbox is on another level of terrible

Or TLDR: Yes, it's the worst kind of sandbox. Ignores any kind of daily life, work schedule. The focus is literally just grind points plus you have a grind for staying alive. Just wow. There even is confirmation dialogues for some steps... The events that the previous version had were 100% completely irrelevant to any plot and didn't facilitate much character development either. There is several different systems you all have to manage. Like a mobile game.

My opinion: 100% annoyance, ZERO value for the story. It even breaks the tension that was meticulously built up. I have never seen a sandbox VN that had so many reasons not to be one...

After playing New Horizon I think this is the game you should recommend for those who want something like Eternum . It has the same school setting vibe with supernatural stuff and good amount of romance. I tried Eternum clones and they were awful.

Facts, I really like this game, too. However, I think it differs from Eternum in having a lot of interesting LIs. Basically every Eternum girl is interesting, meanwhile, I personally think there is a very large gap between Ayase and the rest of the girls in New Horizon so far. It makes sense, considering she's as much as a main character as the MC - but Eternum isn't really like that, as it feels pretty equal with plot/screen time with all the girls. Glad you liked it, though - the new update should be coming in November

It might that the people that like sandboxes and became patreons give a biased image, since people that don't like it will likely not become patreons. If the dev wants to serve a niche, that is their call. Looking at recent patreon numbers, it seems to be working out. Whether or not that pays in the long run I don't know. The premise is really good and the main character design is solid as well.

But I stay by my opinion that this sandbox in particular sucks donkey dick due to aforementioned reasons. At least they fixed the file size. Previously they had like 50 uncompressed animations for the side girl grind
We'll see where this goes.

And that is the reason why I could not continue playing the game after MC visit Alex in her new apartments. Game wants you be a part of fuckfest with the characters you care about. Lets see how LopaPhi (Wild Cats) handle it.

Maybe it's a good thing to limit amount of main LI. Especially if you are making something deep and story heavy.

I feel she is kinda unpopular. When I post a discussion post about HS game on AVN reddit, many said they very dislike her because how she treat and distrust MC at the beginning

lots of people on here hate it when women have a spine or just good banter making some jokes about the MC. any indication of the MC not being an absolute dom chad and they riot. i also really like ayase personally - agreed with paddy she is one of my favs too.

i tried eden and it is a pretty solid start. the graphics arent amazing yet but improving and story is cool and LIs are cute.

and by the way thanks again for the weekly recap! super convenient

Is it real? I never liked weak female personalities. What value does they have. Good looks? And to be honest Ayase don't act that cold. That blackmail part was really childish. Give me Monza Murcatto from Best Served Cold.

in the game’s discord, she’s by far the most popular character according to polls run by the dev. the thread on here gets brigaded by the same 3-4 trolls that spam how much they dislike her

It really makes no sense to play the game if you don’t like her, she’s 99% of the plot along with the mc lmao
