I'll be concise: The game just feels like an asset flip, numerous things thrown together in an attempt to make god knows what. You've got the start of the game which is focused on the campus, daily life, waking up, talking to NPCs, attending classes, et cetera. The main goal is to just walk from point A to point B and level up your stats, so that you can unlock combat moves... and this point really is nowhere in the latter half of the game. There's nothing to do on the campus, questlines go unfinished, and the game just goes somewhere entirely else. I feel like the developer does not know where the game's going to end up. There's a lack of a clear vision.
The same thing can be said about the construction of both the game and the world its based in. You'll be able to see unity store assets that really don't fit in with the rest of the world, mainly buildings. One example is the medical center (..why does an university campus have a hospital that large?) which has an entrance door.. pasted ontop of the asset's original entrance. This is one of many issues that come with the lacking level design of the game. You'll see motor vehicles in the middle of campus, on an island that should logically have no need or even space for motor vehicles. Hyper detailed cars with a basic interior, that in no way match the games artstyle are strewn around the map to give the illusion of a vibrant city. It's something the game could do entirely without. And then you've got the horrible excuse for sidewalks that the game provides. Next to most streets are STAIRCASES, instead of slanted pathways, presumably because the developer could not be bothered to align the pavement with the road. Next to it you'll be able to make out the empty void below the street, which is a true testament to the quality of the map. Within buildings, at least half of the space tends to just be filler, serving little purpose and I don't necessarily mind this, since buildings need a sense of normalcy. Not everything HAS to be special, or has to have a function. Some things may just exist to make the world more believable. But then you'll see that they could've done so much more with it, add a questline, some easter egg, anything, but the areas are so badly neglected that even the presence of walls are disregarded. You'll be walking around and - whoops! All of a sudden you're just falling through the sky, and of course - the game won't respawn you. You'll have to open the developer console to respawn yourself, or restart the game.
Then, you have the questlines. Boring point A to point B walking simulations. "Defeat the monster in the caves..", "talk to the researcher at X", "go to the mountainside road at insert obscure time". I don't mind the dialogue, but holy crap could this game use a questlog to point you in the right direction. Almost all 28 pages on this forum exist because people have no idea where to go, or even what to do. Perhaps they're even asking questions about unfinished content that has existed since two years ago, with no updates. The combat in the game is also a lot like pokemon, great if you like it, fine if you don't. Nothing to write home about, but not bad. Though it does encourage you to stock up on food, due to the annoying energy mechanic.
In all honesty this is not an experience I can recommend. Perhaps only due to the poor quality of most games in this genre can this game shine. This is the sole 3D experience with DL tags, and let it be known that if there was any competition or alternatives to it, then it would not have nearly the following that it does today. Stay safe, be wary of games like these which make more money whilst they're in development (Yandere Simulator, a crapton of other porn games) than when they're finished. Without competition, games are bound to meet only the lowest bar. I do commend the developer for the cute artstyle, character customization, animations, and modelling quality, but sadly, the rest of the game does not meet those qualities in terms of refinement.
