Not all of them were real though, there was a *lot* of viruses, malware, spyware, and ransomware looped into some of those things. Trojans especially were a big problem. Because computers were not very well protected against those 20 years ago, a lot of horny kids screwed up their computer enough to require a hard reset or clean install.
