looks like a homer, but it's a pop fly to right field.
oddly, i've been playing quite a few autobattlers recently, and i'll restate what i've said before: games that more or less play themselves mesh well with nsfw content. LtL is, at first glance, the best execution of the concept i've played yet. there's very little inventory or stats management to slow the pacing down, and the adjustable game speed is very welcome. the actual gameplay is simplicity itself. pick a route, watch Loi smack monsters with a stick, equip gear with bigger numbers than your old stuff.
that said, this simplicity leaves something to be desired. there is little room for interesting builds here -- maxing damage and action speed make for zero challenge -- and the minimal UI is less forthcoming about your objectives than it should be. i've missed more than a few side quests simply because i couldn't tell what the game was asking me to do.
on top of that, i don't love the implementation of the love meter, which determines if you can fuck enemies on the world map instead of fighting them. it builds far too slowly for my taste given the low-res, low-framerate scene animation and the dearth of enemies with scenes in the late-game. why can't Loi have sex with the sirens or the fishmen in zone 3? why is there only one fuckable non-boss enemy in the final zone?
LtL is technically complete, but it really feels like it could use a few more content passes. what's there isn't enough to stop me from considering the actual gameplay as anything more than padding.
at the end of the day, though, it's short and can be completed in less than an hour, flaws aside. it's just something of an unsatisfying experience.
