Story:
In Loner Onee-San, you play a widow who spends her days alone, while being avoided by the rest of the town, who deems her a "witch" over the circunstances of her husband's passing. That is, until a group of boys approach her by chance, and end up becoming the human contact she desperately craved.
This game takes a different approach than most other shota based games. Yes the boys are horny, and yes, the female MC is technically a predator, but the emphasis on characters and relationship building is above and beyond what you see out of other games in the genre.
Each of the 3 boys has a distinct personality, have their own stuggles to cope with, yet their friendship feels very real. They behave like young boys would, and that makes for some funny moments as our MC has to deal with their antics.
The game often hits you right in the feels as it conveys the happiness of the MC, as she finally has friends again. The only problem with this is that when things do get sexual, it can feel a bit out of the blue. The boys show sexual interest in her immediately, but while she is completely against it at first, she's a bit too quick to change her mind. She suddenly decides that it's ok to get lewd and starts making moves on the boys on her own. As strong as the writing for the bonding moments is, this does come as a negative highlight.
Gameplay:
It's a simple RPGM game with straightforward progression. As of build 0.3c, no sidequests, fairly small map, and linear story, so you shouldn't be left wandering what to do. Some minigames break up the pace, and they're serviceable enough, though I can see ppl having an issue with them. One thing to point out is that the minigames come right before some lewds, giving you no window to save between them, and therefore you'd have to play again to rewatch it. A gallery would solve this, as well as being a nice feature to have in general.
Visuals:
The art for this game is stunning, with a gorgeous female lead. The lewds are well animated. Unlike other shota games, the penises of the boys are kept small, which I don't particularly like, but I guess provides a bit of realism in a sea of hung AF shotas in these games. Overall a great looking game.
Conclusion:
Let me start by saying that I had no prior knowledge about this game, so I know nothing about it's development history. But I hear the development is very slow, so if you have a problem with that, you might wanna stay clear for a while. I personally review the games themselves, and not the development process. And as it stands, the game shows great promise, with great art, great writing and satisfying enough gameplay. Lots of potential on this one.
