Game was a RPG maybe jrpg like but the story went that your family was killed and you went out with a healer to do some stuff after the event. I cannot for the life of me remember much else, other than remember meeting a succubus of sorts in a old castle like building somewhat early on in the game.

Sounds like Roundscape Adorevia, noble path: your father is killed, you're separated from your mother, you meet first Meredith and then the succubus.
But the plot is quite cliché, I'm sure there are more games like that.
