# Synopsis:

In Taru's Infernal Pledge, you step into the shoes of Taru 'Bolt' Nopsa, a dashing young woman and an exceptionally skilled thief and assassin. Immerse yourself in a new original fantasy universe and the sprawling metropolitan city of Valkama, the capital city of Jaerwik in the northern edges of the known world.

As Taru, you have been working with a gang of criminals, your only family in truth, for a few years now. Your latest mission turns out to be a trap, and you're taken captive by cultists of an ancient evil known as The Fathomless Hunger. Your soul will be sacrificed to appease this mysterious deity, unless you can escape your shackles.

Piru, the 5th archdemon of hell, has been trying to tempt you into a pact with him for a long time. Just like he did with your mother, who died years ago under strange circumstances. Now, in order to escape the cultists, you find yourself finally pledging your body to the demon. Piru's demands, however, make your head spin...

Please the demon's sexual apetites as his concubine and serve him as his assassin. Explore the Abyss with Tryton, the anointed of Astorolus, and become familiar with his intimate world of consensual bdsm. What to expect from the game

Taru's Infernal Pledge focuses on BDSM throughout the game, while delivering an interesting main story. Follow the events of the current timeline where Taru gets into trouble (sexual and otherwise) everywhere she goes. Her objectives: Find out who betrayed her and get her revenge, free her soul from the dark force that has claimed it, and free her body from her pledge to the demon, while honoring the terms of her deal. In parallel, follow the flashback events before her current predicament, where she and her gang take on the biggest heist of their careers, and witness the aftermath that saw her world turn upside down. In both the current timeline and the flashbacks, your choices matter and shape the story that unfolds.

# Development Status

The first 7 chapters of the game (174 000 words) have been written and available in the latest version on itch.io. A free demo is available on Itch (and extended demo on f95zone). Due to the format of the game, there are currently around 900 passages. I'm almost done with Chapter 8.

# Art status

Initial work for Chapter 1 art has been done by tacinky, roughly 33% of Chapter 1 has art (~25 images).

# Scope of the game

The story I have currently designed will see the game spanning about 13 chapters. This would make it roughly 260 000 words long, with about 1300 passages. (These are rough estimates!). For an artist, this means something between 800 and 1000 images that needs to be created.

By "on hold" in this context we mean that tacinky is extremely busy with other commissioning work and simply doesn't currently have the time to contribute to Taru's Infernal Pledge. After all, this is a hobby-level project.

# Looking for:
- A 2D or 3D digital hand-drawn artist to join the project for the entirety of its length, developing art for it. (Backgrounds and characters).
- A huge bonus if you can match the artstyle already in the game (not mandatory)
- Hobby-level enthusiast who doesn't have a ton of other commissioning work requiring attention

# Employment Type:
- Shared revenue (**up to 30% of gross revenue). The game will initially be available on itch, but will be published on Steam once it is done.

NOTE: You should join the project as a hobby-level interest, not looking for a huge income. There is no guarantees that the game will be a massive hit. I prefer working with people who are passionate about the project, rather than those looking to make a quick buck.

**I have offered 30% of the gross revenue to tacinky during development, but since he is going to be stepping to the side and going "on hold", that 30% revenue will instead be shifted to you when you join the project and start contributing art. In the best-case scenario, tacinky will re-join the project and also provide art. In such cases, we will check on a month-to-month basis how many accepted peaces you and tacinky have added to the game, and split the 30% accordingly. When the game is finally released, and neither of you are contributing new art, then we will compare the number of images done by you and tacinky, and split the art-share 30% between the two of you in a fair manner.

Why "only" a 30% share?

Due to the way Steam and Itch keep track of revenue, it's easiest for me to look at the Gross revenue and give you 30% of that. Steam also takes 30% of the Gross revenue, while Itch takes 10%. I also pay 33% taxes. This means that after Steam (30%) and Art (30)% has been reduces, I'm looking at my own share which is 40% of the gross revenue, which I pay 33% taxes on, which puts into my pocket about 27% of the gross revenues. If I ever go above 15k a year in gross revenue, however, I must pay an additional 25.5% taxes on top of all that, which further reduces my own share down to 20% of the gross revenue. The world of economics is brutal :) Anyway, that's the long answer why I can "only" offer a 30% share that unfortunately must be split between both artists.

# Work commitment:
- Long term. Part time. My pace of working is roughly 1 chapter every 1.5 months, which at the current pace would mean the story is done in about 8-9 months. However, art does not need to be done by then.
I'm currently aiming for a June 2027 release, which means that if the game needs 800 images, you'd need to work at a pace of 1 image per day. The approach to making art should thus take into account this restraint, i.e. maybe creating some sprites and backgrounds, which will help flesh out the generic art. Then focus on the more unique pieces for the NSFW scenes.

# Job Description:
- The game takes place in an original dark fantasy universe, with nordic, occult and demonic themes. Bondage and BDSM is the kink explored in this game.
- Most of the characters are human, but there are some demons (one of the main characters is a demon), and some fantasy creatures.
- We have started with a hand drawn approach (I will add examples below). If you can match the style - fantastic! If not, don't worry, we can pivot the style to what you can draw!
- I prefer to give you the freedom to interpret the scenes. Due to the format of the game, you'll have about 200 words that describe what is happening in a scene.
- Initial characters have been drawn by tacinky, and there is a github repository with more details descriptions of all main characters.
- Using static backgrounds and character sprites with different poses and expressions is an acceptable approach.

The art for Animus Non Grata was created by Synthetic Rush using Daz3D.
The art for Jessica's Plight was created by me with makehuman, AI tools and gimp. (it is terrible, I know!).

I'm also working on a fourth game "Neuro / Splice" with Synthetic Rush, with is not ready to be shown to the public yet. (It is very, very early in development)
