...without the protag defaulting to being callous/malicious. They should ideally treat their partners with some level of respect or care, even if it's optional to do so.
There are a few other threads out there looking for similar things (One per year it seems!) but most of the recommendations are abandoned, short, or just VNs.
This has been a rough thing to try to find, especially when from a gameplay perspective I am looking for a very strong element of choice and agency, so typically a VN game isn't going to fit the bill. Character creation is a strong plus.
There are a lot of games out there that have some content that has a female protag in control, domming, being on top in some way, but they are usually the exception within their own game than the rule, and I can usually expect "my" character to be bent over by someone else and used most of the time, and it's a dice roll of what kind of scene I get. It gets frustrating to play a character, take the lead in flirting, charming, being the active and engaged one, only for the actual smut scene to start and suddenly you're passive or outright submissive. It's genuinely infuriating.
Then there's the other type, where you're essentially playing an asshole, going around using, abusing, and forcing yourself on people. Not judging that kink for being in a game, don't mind indulging in a bit of darkness now and again, but it's not an all the time thing. I like Village of Nightmare, for example.
This is a -lot- easier to find with a male protagonist, I know, but it's too much of a disconnect for me.
Things I've played and liked, and I suppose these can serve as recommendations for others who may be trying to satisfy similar desires as myself.

-Lilith's Throne
-Lust Doll Plus (Not the original, which literally locked you out of part of the game unless you became someone's submissive)
-Paradise Heights
