Seeking Looking for more games that are not just a straight VN / storybook

I find it kind of strange that so many people on here shit on games having open world content, management, rpg mechanics etc. Personally, I have a hard time getting into the games that are just straight up VNs - it has to be AMAZING for me to stick with those.

Would love some recommendations, I have searched about on this site quite a bit but there are sooooo many titles and unfortunately some of the review scores are... really dubious. So I am sure there are gems I am missing.

Some of the games I have enjoyed quite a bit (or at least liked the idea/concept of, despite some major limitations) inclue:

• Harem Hotel - Really no complaints this one is fucking amazing
• A Struggle With Sin - I love the RPG aspects and SOME of the sexual content is amazing - but the way the game forces you to also bed all these disgusting old fat ladies is really an issue. This one is really conflicting. Frisha, Kate, Mira, etc. were amazing - but having to also fuck their moms and eat their nasty 50 yo snatches is pretty sick and not in a good way.
• Corrupted Kingdoms - Overall really good, I have not gotten to the part with the combat (I think part 3?) that everyone bitches about yet, so I don't know how that will go. I sort of burned out in the part right before that because suddenly every LI seems determined to get pregnant and that becomes a whole clusterfuck nightmare to manage.
• Deviant Anomalies - Loved it overall but the dev seems to have vanished before getting to most of the main/good stuff
• Long Live the Princess - Loved it overall, really insanely high quality renders, lots of hardcore dirty stuff, I could have lived without the incest part with one of the LIs
• The Headmaster - Fucking amazing in a lot of ways, my only real complaints are the animated scenes are way lower quality than the rest of the game, a lot of times it looks like they just stretched a static image to simulate 'movement' - like a fucking Macromedia Flash movie from the early 2000s lol... but still this one is so filthy and twisted it's just amazing overall. Oh and second complaint was development has ground to a crawl for quite some time, unfortunately very common with these games.
• Waifu Academy - Overall loved it, seems like it may be abandoned though... This is way more of a VN than I usually go for, but it was so good and twisted in mostly the right ways. Tons of content. The whole MC wants to bang his mom made me pretty sick though I just kept trying to avoid that storyline path.

Here are some of my typical pros and cons although it's not an exact science and there are exceptions:

Generally Good Features:

• Hot, young, (18+) fit LIs
• Ability to pursue multiple LIs (can be harem or otherwise, just not really into playing through a really long complex story many times trying to see all the models and scenes)
• RPG elements
• Management elements
• Corruption
• Good graphics - this could be full blown amazing realistic 3d renders or more cartoony style (2d or 3d) it just has to be GOOD and the sex scenes need to be good and detailed.

*Also to be clear. I don't expect any/most games to have ALL of these things. I am just listing individual things that are pros for me.)

Generally Bad Features:

• Female protagonist
• Ugly, fat, old, etc. LIs
• Gay male content
• Trans content (futa, anything - just no)
• NTR ~95% of the time (There are a few exceptions but the kind that doesn't bother me seems really uncommon. The most common kind seems to be the type where the MC is a stupid little cuck bitch and the girls are like humiliating / taking advantage of / deceiving him - not into that shit at all.)
• Females dominating males
• Ridiculously big boobs - it's just stupid to me, anything over a C cup starts to become a negative for me
• Excessive amount of handjobs
• Lactation
• Pregnancy - not the end of the world but when it starts to become a royal PITA it's annoying and I don't derive any pleasure from it so it just becomes a nuisance to deal with
• Censored and no uncensor patch available
• Non-english language and so poorly translated or partially translated and thus very difficult to play and enjoy

1. Heroes Harem Guild - played it, honestly disappointed. I think it had a lot of promise but the dev is just not cut out for gamedev. Most of the gameplay is pretty weak/meaningless like they just tried to tack actions onto a VN. The writing and story and everything goes to shit shortly into the game, smells like the dev started outsourcing a lot of the work and it shows.
2. Adventurer Trainer - I looked at this before and got the feeling the art and animations would be kind of a let down but I may need to give it another look.
3. Mist - Similar to above, the art didn't really appeal to me (it's like 3d but the girls have strangely cartoony faces) IDK I probably should just give it a try at some point.
4. Holiday Island - I don't like the girls. There is not a single girl in the preview images that I find attractive, they all look on the older side and have huge boobs, which I'm not really into. Just personal preference.
5. Paradise Lust - I am going to check this out.

7. A House in the Rift - looks interesting, I will check it out.

Superpowered - I tried this based on your suggestion, I loved it at first - the grind is not bad to me - my only complaint is when I started getting to the lewd scenes and realized it's not animated, it's just like a few pretty lame still images, that killed it for me... no longer have any motivation to do the grind after realizing that is all I am going to get lol. I am now eagerly watching SuperPowered 2 and hoping it improves upon this.
9. Lab Rats 2 - I may try this eventually but, it looks pretty bad at first glance. The two women shown in the preview images are hideous lol.

I'm glad you found at least a few games you found enjoyable. I would like to point out that if you didn't like Superpowered then you won't like Lab Rats. You're right, the faces in this game are ugly, there are no animations and what visuals there are are lacking. I use a real-porn mod for the visuals but it's not at all immersive.

Holiday Island has some of the best art I've seen in any game. It's true there's a focus on larger breasts. I prefer smaller ones myself but I found I really enjoyed this game nonetheless. It's worth at least a try. I'd suggest play till the end of the first day on the island. You'll know by then if the games for you.

I recently finished playing My Fallen Angels, and I personally thought it was surprisingly better than I expected. There is a cheat mod for this, and I even installed it, but ended up not using it. For me, that worked out. Although, you might benefit from the cheat mod, I don't know.

Fantasy Town is a medieval fantasy game. Some might find it too grindy, but I actually enjoyed it once I got into the rhythm of the game. You might like it, you might not, but I'll link you to it anyway.

If you like sci-fi, there is Callisto. This includes some sandbox element and it's a very good game in my opinion with a good story.

Timeless Island is a very cool game with lots of content, but there are big boobs so for that reason alone I choose to refrain from including the link to it. If you're interested, by all means look it up. I'm actually not a fan of big boobs myself, but even I was able to enjoy this game, I'll tell you that much.

I've also been playing this game called Denos City lately. I definitely has the sandbox element, but the artwork might not be up to your standards, not to mention the big boobs. The storyline is pretty interesting, though. Again, I won't include the link here, but look it up if you feel like it.

I appreciate the suggestions! Also, to be clear, I don't mind decent sized boobs lol. I am only saying I don't play games where ALL the LIs have ABSURDLY HUGE boobs. I just looked up timeless island and it does not look like they all have huge boobs from the preview shots.
