I'm looking for any text based (text only or text heavy) games where you get to create and customize the female characters, at least name and preferably stats.

A man of culture, I see - love that sort of game as well, maybe with more of a life-sim focus. Guessing you've heard of Girl Life by now; I've only been able to find a handful of HTML/Twine games in the same vein and most of them seem to be more or less abandoned and/or have very little content. Hopefully someone will be able to dig up more!

Yeah tried Girl Life but it's just soooo huge that it's tough to get immersed, plus it's from female POV and I prefer male/third person POV.

My Girlfriend's Amnesia was good in that you could enter names, but didn't allow you to customize anything else.
