Rimworld is an excellent game. 100% would recommend. Though, even with the Forbidden Mod, I wouldn't consider it a stimulating experience.

Visually I'd have to agree that it's sadly quite limited. But as the unmodded game is already quite brutal theres a bunch of degenerate shit you won't find in many other games. And the possibilities are almost endless when you add all the steam workshop mods as well.
