VN - Ren'Py - Lost Daughter [v0.4] [Verde]

Overall everything is pretty good, nothing innovating but it works.
I see complaints about lack of choices saying without choices it cannot be defined as an avn, thats just bs from toxic people who don't know what they are talking about. There are a few choices or illusion of choices, since they are mostly yes or no to extra content. So defining it as a game might be a bit of a stretch, but as a novel it is fine.
(story) pacing feels a little off and would have liked some scenes to be a little more fleshed out. But all in all chapter 1 is a decent start and chapter 2 puts a nice spin to it despite being a bit short.
(cast/characters) good design, all the girls are distinct, different, likeable while flawed, and attractive with natural proportions, thumbs up for that.
There are a few problems however
(the gf) usually when an avn starts you off with a gf it can ruin the whole experience, not here though as Claire is great and into sharing her boyfriend with other girls. She does need a bit more background though as so far we know pretty much nothing about her, would also be nice to be able to have a say in how her kink works, like being able to opt out of her being ínto girls and just having a kink for sharing her bf. This is because for those of us who are not into ntr it can be a dealbreaker to not have any say in who she gets intimate with.
(the best friend) it is a bit problematic for a non-ntr game to have you overweight best friend be married to one of the most attrative characters in the story. Gonna be interesting to see how dev handles this, cause again this again is a factor that can really break the whole experience for some readers.
(the antagonist) stephen is obviously a douche, however we need to see him actually do more than just be rude to justify how much almost the whole cast dislikes the guy. Like sure he is rude and maybe an ambitious sleasebag, but mc and his friends are also really rude towards him and are literally bullying him.
(mc) for the most part mc is ok, he is average and that is also kinda his problem. While it is appreciated that he is not some skinny highschooler nor some overly buffed macho, he could still use a bit of a tune up considering his situation. He is a grown man, is obviously attractive, has a good job, nice apartment/house and a beautiful girlfriend who is ok with him dating other girls. In other words his life is great and some average guy could never hold onto a girl like Claire, he needs a bit more confidence, initiative and buff. It does not make sense that he keeps making excuses about not having time because of work as the reason to why he doesn't train or do sports or have hobbies, when every time he is not with Claire he sits down and wonders what he should spend his time on, then considering he and claire works at different times a day this must happen fairly often and that just makes him seem lazy and like a liar. Another example is when the husband of the boss is literally asking him to pimp out his amazing gf he doesn't fight back, grow some backbone, him not standing up for himself and her in such a situation is seriously breakup material right there, but she just takes it in stride, makes no sense.
(the daughter) despite her transition from total bitch into somewhat sweet feels a bit rushed, the main problem with her storyline again mostly lies with MC. It raises questions like why the hell does he let that old woman bully him, why does he not ask any questions about the mother, why does he not question how the hell they made a dna test without him knowing and why the hell doesn't he feel like the daughter has the right to know that he is her father. He treats the whole situation like it's just an option for him, like i'll try and get to know her and if i liker her maybe I will tell her i'm her dad, what a freaking clown. Even when they are put in that situation in chapter 2 and he knows why and who is behind it, he still decides to lie to her, this kinda nonsense is just unforgiveable and needs to be fixed, otherwise i do not see this novel having any positive future and anyone who is not into mc being a lying scumbag will absolutely hate it. Supposedly this is to be the most important part of the whole story, but so far it is the weakest link.
I hope dev can fix up in some of these problems, there is alot of potential here that is ultimately ruined by easily fixed problems.

(chapter 2) I'm giving it 4/5 for now. It could go either way as the story develops. could be a 5 or could be a 3.
I like that the MC has an established "open"-relationship at the start. Not every little detail needs to be explained. She likes girls too, so they share. She also isn't threatened that he will leave, even though she does ask questions like that sometimes as any normal person would.
The characters all feel believable. Even though some of the relationships feel rushed, this is an AVN, so it is understandable. It's nice that we get some lewd scenes in chapter 1 that aren't the traditional dreams.
I also like the MC, he's a good guy who helps people out but struggles with his own inner desires like the rest of us. It's up to the player to act or not. While some players dislike that the choices have little effect, I understand that changing the game drastically with those choices means less content per update. Illusion of choice is nice for those of us that don't play through a lot to see every story.

It's .... ok but it's the wrong side of stupid. The funny thing is the game actually plays well in setting the scene until a point where it realises the title of the game and then it kind of goes off the rails

You're MC, you've got a promiscuous girlfriend, an overweight friend / confidant, a work rival, a bitchy boss and a cute, inexperienced female co-worker who gets on well with you. Very much porn game 101 and nothing exactly special but everything's at least pulling in the same direction. Nothing too out there to warrant a mid review.

The problems are kind of entrenched though and they creep in over time. The girlfriend has delusions of being a cuck queen without is REALLY being explained why. She just wants you to sleep with other women. She's aware she's in a porn game and by god she's going to play her role well. But she's almost like an after thought. You could remove her completely from the game and it wouldn't change anything in the first part so her being there seems like just a way of allowing the player to see some spicy scenes whilst the other story lines are being set up. She's a bit of a hollow character.

The MC is a bit of a melt. an attempt at big golden retriever boyfriend energy. There's no agency to what he does, he seems to be just going through the motions. He's not quite bumbling at what he does but similarly he's hardly a man of action.

The problems become obvious when we get introduced to the trope the game's named after, the daughter. The whole thing is stupid and really badly written. MC is living his best life and then a random turns up and tells him he has a daughter. But then it's like "you need to fix it". Fix what? There's so little time spent trying to digest the idea of a daughter before the MC is off trying to make contact. And anytime there's even the slightest hint of descent the older woman who told you about the daughter gets angry. There's so many questions that are just dismissed. Does the MC WANT to know the daughter? what does the daughter think about the dad she doesn't know. Why this convoluted, drawn out process to introduce themselves.

The older woman could have just brought everyone together and dealt with it then. Instead she tells the MC and makes him do the leg work. So he goes to meet her with ZERO preamble. Just a random dude rocking up to an 18 year old. "Hmm, the girl seems a bit of a bitch". Of course she's a bitch, some random dude just rocked up and tried speaking to her. And then after that obviously doesn't work out, the MC goes back to the gran and says it didn't work and she gets angry and says it'll happen either way. Just tell the daughter ffs. Such a stupid plot point. Like the girlfriend, you could remove the gran/daughter from the whole game and it wouldn't change anything.

And then you get abducted and forced onto some island or nonsense cause of course that's obviously plan B after the awful plan A didn't work.

Renders are good, characters are mid, story is just stupid

This AVN has potential but it has a lot to improved too... To begin with, this is a kinetic novel; practically the only decisions that matter are whether you accept or reject a girl, and it seems that even rejecting a girl doesn't change anything in the main story so despite of the good attempt at narrative and story building, there are many situations that feel quite forced, like the girlfriend who conveniently let the MC be with other women, and not to mention the Island part... Jesús! that was more forced than Zendaya in Hollywood movies!

Right now, this AVN is just another father-daughter story that doesn't bring anything new, but since I see certain good attempts at writing and it's still very early in the development, I will trust that the Dev will improve as a writer because there is potential to create something entertaining with this AVN. However, so far the Dev has taken easy and cliché routes in the story and even in the development because there should be different paths and more decisions so this can be called "a visual novel".

Anyways... let's hope for the sake of this game, the Dev takes it seriously and learns how to make an AVN properly, otherwise we'll end up with another poor attempt of DmD

I really like this AVN. the LIs are varied and hot, the premise and the options with each LI gives you several options on how to go about it. the story is not that complex but interesting which is what you need in those type of ANVs.

A Great game! The story is engaging and well thought-out, with character personalities and the overall context meshing together beautifully. The characters are impressively developed—especially the MC's friend, who refreshingly breaks away from the typical “loser sidekick” trope and brings real depth to the story.


Visually, it's stunning. The art is clean, and the animations are smooth and fluid, enhancing the experience even more.


What really stands out is the main character’s strength—he doesn’t cave under pressure or make irrational choices just to drive the plot forward, which is incredibly refreshing.


Overall, I highly recommend it. For now, it's a solid 5 stars. If the quality continues in future updates, that final star will be more than well deserved.

I thought it was pretty decent for the most part. I liked the girls, especially Valentina, who I found stunning. The renders and sex animations were also adequate.

Unfortunately, the writing was pretty inconsistent, and the basketball game dialogue was simply awful. And reading the comments about where people think the relationship is going with the daughter, would also be disappointing.

There are enough branching story lines already, and there would be nothing wrong with building a normal father meets daughter relationship. It might even make for a better game. Not every game needs to have incest.

Game is just stupid, I expect some level of stupidity when playing incest games but this one just crosses the line to the point that I couldn't even finish it, had to stop.

The MC is a dumbass, just does inexplicable shit for no reason, gets pushed around like toddler and is just unlikeable, and he is not the only one. The gf is even worse, just can't shut up about being lesbian, eating pussy, and opening that "relationship" to make MC a cuck. Because that is what everyone wants in a relationship, an annoying whore that is constantly lusting after everyone else expect their partner.
Most others li are just as bad, the daughter is pretty bad too which is a fuckkng shame, and the others are just slightly less annoying. ( The dev really has a very hard lesbian fetish and for some reason he felt compelled to force the player to put up with that kind of content constantly , so if you are not into, like me, this is not for you. you'll find yourself annoyed and rolling your eyes so much it wouldn't be healthy)

There's not much to talk about in terms of writing/plot, it is just mediocre. The renders are good but, just that, not great, as you can see in the preview pics.

So in the end this doesn't feel like an incest game, more like a lesbian oriented sharing/swinging game where you play as a loser, certainly not what I expected from this but it is what it is.

Close to a 5 for me but 4 just seems more fair/accurate. I really like almost all the girls for their looks and personality. The only one I wasn't super into was the boss and even she has her merits. The main character is an adult which is always nice to see.


Andy (redhead) is adorable with her lack of experience, etc. and hopefully there will eventually be something with her sister as well. Kate (blonde) is a great mix of cute and hot (braces!). Claire, the girlfriend is hot and cute as well. It's a bit of an interesting dynamic with her- some of which plays out in the game now and some is more discussed as backstory. She's into girls so sometimes she wants the two of you to share the same girl, sometimes she is sort of "competing" with you for the same girl, and sometimes she is ok with just letting you go for other girls. Maybe not everyone will love that dynamic but I don't get the vibe that the game is going in the direction of bad or hurt feelings for the player or the main character.

The boss was not bad by any means but less my cup of tea than the other girls. If you prefer someone slightly more mature than the other girls, she will appeal to you a bit more. Her story seems like it will involve swinging, at least as an option. Hopefully there will be a way to pursue her without that but if not it's ok. One nice thing about the game is that you can choose which of the side girls to pursue or not pursue. Only the daughter and the girlfriend seem to be "mandatory". It is stated that MC has a foot fetish. That's not my thing but you're not forced to see much of that though it definitely could change in later versions.

The actual "lost daughter" is barely in the game at the moment. She looks good and is kind of bratty/bitchy so far. That can be good or bad- if you get the opportunity to put her in her place that will be great for me.

The writing is alright. Playing the English version, you can tell it isn't the original language but IMO it wasn't bad at all. Definitely not a "plus" for the game but not something that hurt my enjoyment. As always, your mileage may vary. As far as plot/story... not amazing so far but we haven't really seen the main story with the daughter so time will tell.



I rate games based on how I feel after playing them and this felt like a 4. It certainly has the elements to be a 5 for me personally. In fact if you took this exact concept and gave it a huge budget with the most experienced developers, etc. it could easily be in the discussion for my favorite game. That's just a hypothetical, no insult in being what it is, which is a good game by a smaller dev. Hopefully development is able to continue and we can see the full potential.

PROS
+ The story is kind of interesting, but the writing seems to go in a poor direction.
+ Models of the girls/women look good, they are cute/beautiful/sexy.
+ Render quality is decent.
+ Sex scenes have animations, and most of them are decent.
+ You can choose to be on the girls/women path, or not.

CONS
- The existence of Stephen, like seriously why does every fictional story have to have one *sshole like him? Writers really need to stop doing these types of things, SHM...
- Isabella's (MC's daughter) character is another cliche... You know that cliche bitchy, annoying AF daughter who treats MC sh*tty, but becomes better with time? Yeah, that's her, like keeps calling MC ''Old Pervert'' for no reason when she first meets with him, etc. I mean seriously you write a story about an only family she has to have cancer, and after she is gone MC will be the only one for her, yet you make her spoiled unbearable b*tch, not to mention she is the literally main love interest, and focus of the game, hence the name ''Lost Daughter'' so that's a really big con. And if her character is not bad enough Agatha constantly guilt-tripping MC with saying ''It's your fault, it's your responsibility as a man to look after her, you make my daughter pregnant.'' etc, seriously? You were the ones don't even bother to say MC he has a daughter for all these years because you didn't ''need him'', and now it's his fault? BRUH.
- Content-wise it's a bit too short, maybe waiting a couple more updates could be a good idea because the game needs some more sexual content for sure.
- MC has some specific fetishes, and it seems we will be having scenes involving them, which is bad, they should be optional.
- Menus/HUD/UI can use some improvements and changes, currently, they look a bit bad.
- Better proofreading and translation is needed.
- Denisse is one of the best if not best-looking girls in the game, and that's why it's a big damn shame DEV is chosen her model to use as Oscar's wife, big disappointment, and shame.
- Sex scene animations need improvements, they need better physics, and better looking (like far third-person angles/positions, since current ones are too close) & more angles/positions.
- In nearly all Renpy games right mouse button opens the save screen for saving time, but here it opens the main menu, and you have to go from there, waste of time, need to change.

VERDICT
Well it's not a bad game, but wouldn't say it's good either, especially with all the CONS I talked about, but it has potential, if DEV fixes the problem I see no reason for it to not reach a 4-5 star rate game.

There's potential here. The story isn't bad, and the renders are decent enough. The thing that needs the most work is the english translation. It feels very clunky and unnatural, and at times is just incorrect. Google translate isn't gonna get the job done, you need a fluent english speaker to go over the script to make it feel natural.

I'm on the line on this one. On the one side, the story is cute and has some promise into it, on the other the same story is terribly rushed and forced in a way that is completely unbelievable. So far, choices don't seem to matter outside choosing what girls you want to incorporate in your story and which you want to skip, though it is nice that the cheat to see the consequences is implemented in the game itself. Language is decent enough, both in spanish and english, though the writing itself is nothing particularly fancy.

Render quality is pretty high and character models are different and attractive. But sticking most of the time to POV and having such an emphasis on kisses takes out some of the potential into them, it does seem like it's evolving to reduce POV. Animations are done pretty decently, if a bit on the brief side. Sound is mostly non present. And bugs also seem to be absent so far.

So, all in all, will see where this goes and decide there where do I fall, I can actually see it going either way.

CONS:

1. Characters are not overly interesting but not bad either.
2. Story is pretty much the same as every other game where there is a long lost daughter. Too little content to give more feedback
3. Pacing is not necessarily bad, but due to lack of content it feels slower than I'd like. There are some lewd are least so its not bad, but for now I'm listing this as a con.
4. As mentioned, the sound is good overall and music fine, however I would like some more sound when it comes to the sexual bit, it provides that extra immersion, kink and sexiness. Scenes without those sounds often don't "do it" for me and I'm sure other players agree. This may not be easy to do but its definitely worth it if done well.
5. While lewd scenes are nice, they not very frequent and due to their often vanilla nature they feel easily skipped over or lack luster.
6. Kinks are not really present and its uncertain if there will be any decent ones. Right now things are pretty much vanilla. Some kinks that are there are not optional like the foot fetish which is not something I subscribe to. The kinks and tags can do with some update and some should be optional.

FINAL THOUGHTS:
I would rate this 4 stars but I feel if a bit more is done around some points I raised, I would revise my review and give it the 4 stars. However the content is not much, at least the new update had very little new content I felt, content that drove the plot or particularly interesting parts of the MCs life.
There is not really much that is interesting me apart from the daughter who is more a curiosity to me but the content is too little and the little interaction that was there with the MC and his so called daughter is so little that it may as well have been skipped over.

Kinks like cum inside or outside are good so creampie, or not, but creampie should have consequence like pregnancy which is pretty much one of the few kinks that actually have strong consequence and potential implications to the story and relationships. I feel this should be a mandatory kink in adult VNs to provide players with a stronger feeling of choice and consequence. Plus its pretty kinky IMO

Frankly I would opt for much more content that goes from one revelation or major plot point to the next "chapter" that way one can expect good content for a chapter that makes the player want to come back to see whats next. Right now there are too many games like this that are further along, these small updates don't work for me IMO.

2.5 stars but I'm rounding up because it could easily be a 4-4.5 star game.

It's basically a kinetic novel, with a the option to pick which chapters you want to read. The choices are only to start an LI's branch or close it for two LI's, and one to either sleep with one of those two or not if you are on her path (but that scene isn't even in the update - it cuts off right before). And to start one of the LI's branches, you need to have sex with her while she's drunk while the MC is sober which I'm not a fan of.

It is also made canon that the MC has a foot fetish. Eww. Considering there are no choices of fetishes or positions in the lewd scenes other than "Cum Inside" or "Cum Outside" I'd bet that foot fetish content will be forced in the future (I'm surprised it hasn't been already).

The translation is rougher than some, but better than most. Still needs work, though.
The LI's are mostly great. You do start in a relationship that you are not able to leave. One of them is married and - surprise! - they are having a rough go of it with her husband having opened up the marriage? Maybe a missed the hard confirmation, but seems like they may be swingers. Or he's the swinger and she's not thrilled about it. Dunno.

Animations are fairly smooth.
Daughter isn't immediately in love with the MC... mainly because she has no idea who he is.
If you turn on the built-in cheats you can see who gets love points and who can get pregnancy points. The daughter and the girlfriend aren't listed in the 'paths' part which I take it to mean they are automatic/unavoidable. But on this page you can see that there are actually no points for the LI's - just an on/off switch.

The game just didn't catch me. I don't know what the overall plot it besides "date these people". There's an antagonist, but he seems to be there just to be cucked by the MC - one of the LI's listed is the antagonist's girlfriend, and he's also trying to woo the MC's boss (the possible swinger, who is also an LI).

I enjoyed Lost Daughter! The storyline got me hooked, especially because the characters were so interesting. All the girls stood out; they were so beautiful.

The visuals in the game were impressive, with detailed character designs and realistic skin textures. Although the animations were limited, they didn't detract from the overall experience.

(suggestions)
1. Increase the perspective and poses of the sex scenes.
2. Increase the size of the main character's penis.

I hope MC will be not infertile as in other games. I know pregnancy is a big deal, but this is just a game. I'm not talking about having sex with a pregnant woman.(But I love it haha) The feeling of knowing you've made her pregnant is awesome. After that is the bonus.

Overall, this game is awesome! I'd give it a 10 out of 10. The characters are engaging, the story is interesting, and it's worth a try! Good job Dev

Very solid for a 0.1. Lengthy play time

The renders are great high quality.

Story is generic but well written and different enough to keep you interested. Sex scenes so far are great.

I really like a story that has a solid core couple in it though that may not be everyones cup of tea to be in an established relationship.

Also Father-daughter incest + pregnancy? Two favorite genres

Wow, not bad, the story looks good, quite coherent with both the personality of the characters and the context itself. The characters are well developed, I loved the MC's friend who is not the stereotypical loser, but quite the opposite.

Visually it is very pretty and the animations are fluid.

The above added to an MC who does not allow himself to be "blackmailed" by circumstances to make stupid decisions is great.

Highly recommended, for now it is a solid 4 stars, the last one will be earned if the quality is maintained in the following updates.
