VN - Ren'Py - Love and Temptation [S2 Ep.7] [GruBoop]

ep1 initial release. It has great renders. However it has way too many characters right off the bat. Every scene there is a new woman with new stats and not enough time to remember any of them.

As can be expected with this rapid character introduction the story takes a hit and is somewhat non sensical. I also became confused on whether I was supposed to know the characters already. Especially when they are leather clad.

Honestly the one sex scene in a club almost feels out of place almost as if the developer was worried if there was no sex in this first release no one would play it.

As for game play there are three stats for every girl. Though they aren't described they seem to be love, heart broken(sadness), or domination. At this moment the effect they have is unknown mostly focusing on the first two.

If high fidelity renders is all you need in a game then this is for you. However a compelling story has yet to materialize nor compelling characters or interesting game play elements at the time of this review.

Not a ton of content at Episode 1, so I'll probably come back and update this review later down the line. If the writing stays the same I'll reduce it to a 3 and if it improves I'll bump it up to a 5.

I wish I could give this a 3.5 but I can't so I'll be generous and give it a 4. Everything about the game's presentation is fucking amazing . The renders, the music, the UI, are all wonderful(except for the out of place ara-ara) and I can't stress that enough. You should give it a try just based on these things alone.

What isn't amazing is the writing, however. Feels like English is not the dev's first language, as it has a lot of awkward phrasing in many places. Dialogue just doesn't flow very well at all and nobody feels like an actual person at all. Things also just happen for no real reason and I was honestly confused during the whole club sequence. Why is this random chick I just met asking if I would fly out of the country and live the rest of my life with her? Why did I agree to essentially be the manager of a stripper? Why is there a rule I have to take my clothes off and nothing comes from that? I can deal with something just being an unabashed sex fest, but I at least need to know why things are actually happening.

If the problem was anything OTHER than the writing, I would've given this game a 5. Renders, soundtrack, UI, can all improve with enough time and dedication. Writing though... is much harder to improve if you don't know what you're doing. I really and I mean REALLY want to give this game 5 stars. It already scratches an itch most other games don't fulfill for me, which is saying something. But I can't in good conscience give it that when the writing is so off.

Fingers crossed the dev manages to get a proofreader or writer to really elevate the game.

Amazing renders. I'm tired of seeing the same old art for asian woman in porn games. This is a breath of fresh air. The first episode is great. The music is also really nice and not obnoxious. The animation during sex scenes is also very smooth. Keep up the good work.

Decent amount of content for a demo, but my god the renders and animations are like nothing i've ever seen before. They're honestly stunning, definitely worth the try. The dialog is good, the renders are amazing, and the music is nice. I have nothig to complain about.
