The whole Jared thing just doesn't hold up under scrutiny. She knew he wanted her ass since the tennis dates and she knew he was scum willing to push the envelope since the ladder thing. There is no way she didn't know what she would have to do to get the job by the time she started the parties. Or when she invited him home alone. Not even the silly brain damage excuse applies, because MC and the girls have already told her all that explicitly. It's just Occam's razor.

It's also early act 1 which means anything of that matter in the story, could still be unavoidable.

My line of reasoning is that MC had a lot of time in college alone, and he worked out a lot. Plus, as a kid, he was always too weak to protect Lacey from her father, so maybe there was some sort extra motivation to get stronger. Plus, being nearly as strong as an NFL QB for Bench Press isn't that difficult if you lift consistently.

Go replay that scene, it is explained why the privacy was needed.

Also, there are plenty of confirmed and more probable lies to focus on!

And no one needs more proof of Lacey manipulative abilities.
We saw them in action with Anna, with MC, with Jamie, with Jeanette, practically the whole cast.
It is not wild to think she applied them to Bella, to get her some revenge.
