Does it only use steam DRM? I can try to crack it if you provide me the .exe, the hosts/ my download are kinda slow atm.

Thanks for the share. File doesn't seem to contain Steam DRM, also compared it with the scene release just to be sure and the exe file is the same. I was also able to run the game using both scene exe and the above file. Might be a difference on the contents itself, will try to check again once I get the uploaded files.

Just replace the steam_api64 file in "Love Language Japanese\LoveLanguageJapanese_Data\Plugins" with the one that comes with Goldberg Emulator and it should work.

Yep seems to be the case, just wanted to check since I prefer to check if a clean exe would work first rather than an emu if possible. Here's the .dll file for those who don't know the Goldberg Emu. I take zero credit for this.

I expect there to be a lot of complaint about "no sexual content" and I gotta admit there's a lot of wasted potential there.
personally i dont understand why they accept to have game with "no sexual content" on this part of the site ...

Guess I'll be the first one to ask.

If someone absolutely not me I swear with absolutely 0 Japanese experience were to play this to try to start picking up Japanese, how effective would it be? Not expecting to reach fluency at all, just some braindead level basics like you'd see in any 101/intro level language course.

It may help a little, I guess (I haven't played it), but that language lesson shown in the screen shots gives the wrong pronunciation in the written script.
「あれはレストランです」should be said as "are wa resutoran desu" not "are ha resutoran desu".

It's the little things.

Well the pronunciation is indeed "wa" but the hiragana is indeed a "ha". Another similar case is the particle "wo" being pronounced "o". I'd say it's better to have people learn the hiragana then realise you pronounce it differently than the other way around. Not to mention both "su"s would be pronounced "s" in real talk.

*cough cough* All that aside, I don't know yet if it's fitting for a beginner. I assume so and besides, it's free to play on this site so go ahead if you're serious about learning Japanese, or at least understanding it some.

Great game, and interesting concept. Does anyone have other recommendations for japanese language learning games, beside the Kanji, Hiragana and Katakana of the 'Learn Japanese To Survive!' series? Thanks a lot in advance.

Well, I've spent a few hours with it, and quite honestly, it just reminds me of my first few weeks of learning Japanese at university. Even with 0 knowledge of the language, it's a great jump off point if you ever fancied trying to learn Japanese.

I won't say it's the most groundbreaking or most friendly way of teaching Japanese to new comers, but let's say you complete this game (i'm about 3/4 done i'm guessing), you at the very least will be able to understand and produce simple sentences, will have some actual grammatical knowledge and if I read your question correctly, you will absolutely have the braindead level basics you seek.

Although, the hardest part will be to actually study, because as with any language you're trying to learn, it will take time, practice and dedication. I tried playing as someone that was completely unfamiliar with Japanese and it builds up the basics brick by brick. Here and there a small error in English and I've noticed they forgot a word during a translation test, but as far as I have seen, it is a tool I wish I had during uni.

Besides that, the story is quite fun, the characters are enjoyable and I think the curiosity to see what happens next and how the story develops will certainly give you that extra motivation to ace those tests. Wouldn't want to upset your love interest would you? ;)

.. Hmmm... I'll try it! =D Look fun. I found the motivation! 4 or 5 years since the last time I was so much motivated to learn a new language. (english isn't my native language ---> i'm a self-taught ---> I learned it specifically to play Visual Novel since there is not much of them translated in french)
