Ren'Py - Love & Sex Second Base [v25.9.0] [Andrealphus]

The big problem with this game is how absurdly complex it is to access certain routes and scenes. The open world is a mistake; all it's good for is artificially increasing the game's length. It's a shame because within all those hours of filler, there's a story, characters, and scenes that are worth seeing.

I'm giving this 5 stars because Andrealphus has been working on this game for years and updates fairly often unlike so many others devs who get slower and slower with every update and eventually disappear. So keep up the good work.

The best NSFW game by far. Every character is really well written. The choices are important. There is something for every taste.

The downside... it can be a bit slow at first while raising the money... But at worst, there are cheats.

A review after 150 hours with the game…

This is more a time and resource management game than an adult game. There’s some good… A giant growing list of characters and even after +150 hours, I still haven’t gone through all of the storylines, a nice sandbox, and many many kinks covered. Then there’s the bad… forced situations, bad character writing (but this is a porn game, you won’t be getting much depth), annoying scenarios, and griiiiind.



Good:

• Many places to go and explore within a fully fleshed out world
• Good time management mechanics
• You have your pregnancy, incest (sort of), mouth spitting, anal, SM, NTR…
• Cute designs for some characters
• Lots of variety in the characters available
• Snappy UI and design, some spoken dialogue

Bad:

• You need a wiki... Go blind for your first playthrough, then use wiki for the missable events
• You'll need a cash cheat, if not... you WILL suffer
• Lots of unspoken dialogue. You may be speeding past so much text (Mike is silent like GTA Claude and Link)
• Forced scenes. You can't even go to your home at times (or to a location) since a situation is waiting there like a bat to the face.
• Forced character: Kylie… avoid if you try, and get the Taming Harem, she’ll still bug you till the ends of time.
• Some scenarios do way too much. Do we need a jail visit? Eh…
• Questionable treatment. You’re actively trying to make a tomboy/masculine-presenting woman more fem by tearing her down... and a character whos mental health issue is treated like Sword of Damocles hanging over your crush (which is kind of fucked up)
• Very limited animation (this isn't too big of an issue for me)

Overall...
I'll come out and say it... the scenes where they try forcing you into a corner are why I dropped it a star. There're times you want to go home and eat and get ambushed by a scene... other times you want a scene to play out but missed your one-time chance to do so. More times than not, you have to outright avoid a location to avoid those scenes, and it gets really annoying.

Are there more bad than good? Feels that way sometimes… but every game has flaws and this kept me coming back. For more animation and production, look towards the sister game, My Demonic Romance. If you want 30+ characters and storylines in a decent Ren’Py, and aren’t sensitive to topics, give it a try!

I've played several adult-themed simulation games, but Love & Sex is definitely one of the most complete and fun I've ever tried! What caught my attention most were the characters. Each one has their own personality, style, and way of reacting to your choices. Nothing feels forced or superficial, the dialogue is well-written, and the game gives you the freedom to follow various paths without feeling repetitive.

There is so much work going into it, but I have to agree with some of the reviews that the logic is a whole mess. The scenes can really be enhanced with some voice over and animation.

Overall is a good game to pass the time and it has characters of all shapes and sizes.

what can i say a really amazingly made game. so many characters story and kinks in one game. your actions actually have consequences and ngl have a guid open on the side so you don't miss stuff or dont end up making a descion you regret. even without the sex included the game is a great life sim and super enjoyable 10/10 i fully recommend

I just think it is unfair that there was femdom in the begining of the game and there is no balance between femdom and maledom, it is just mainly maledom, it just sucks for a femdom lover like me.

There are aspects of this game that I really liked. The characters feel different to each other, the general level of writing is decent, there are some hot scenarios and a variety to the world that makes you want to discover more.

But there are also some significant structural weaknesses that make it absolutely maddening and therefore hard to recommend.

Most seriously, linking progress with a particular character to an event that is only accessible in a specific season, but preventing the player from easily skipping to that season, is a really appalling design choice. I was progressing with a character until the next hint said go on a date to the beach. "Where's the beach on the map?" I wondered, having never seen it before. Turns out the beach is only available in the summer, and I was in autumn. "Ok, well surely there are other things I can do with that character while I wait for summer?" No. It kills progress dead and all you can do is repeat scenes you've already done. "Ok, well surely I can skip quickly through to summer then?" No! I have to click through, an hour at a time, through the rest of autumn, winter, and spring, until finally I get to summer. Painful. That experience alone takes a star off my rating as it's one of the most chronically misjudged pieces of game design I've ever experienced, and nearly made me give up entirely.

Other problems are around consistency of the various paths. There are many scenes that don't make sense given previous choices, or that don't properly account for previous choices, meaning the experience feels uneven and that any emotional investment in a character isn't safe because progress can be forgotten by that character in the blink of an eye. I will say as well that the hints about scenes are usually more enticing than the scenes end up being when you finally unlock them. A few times after grinding to unlock something I felt the scene was a real let-down, with not enough art or dialogue to give a satisfying payoff for the work needed to get it. The art is also frequently inconsistent, producing some very strange renditions of characters that don't look like the same person.

The game has its charm. I warmed to a number of the characters, I liked some of the game mechanics, and I thought the music was tolerable. But significant flaws in the design spoil what could have been a much better product.

This game is an inch thick and a mile wide. There is nothing here but trying to be in the right place at the right time to get an event to occur, and even then it may not happen. But by their sub count you can see this works for a lot of people, just not me.

Good art, interesting characters, well-rounded. Too many unfinished options. that can result in lockouts, which keeps me from catching up. Damn shame, because PAC bloat aside, I do really like it.

Why 1 Star, to be honest it deserves 3 probably but here's why it is 1. Game is very old and in still development, ı feel sorry for those who wanted to see ending of this game. Too much content but without wiki, you will miss a lot of content. To unlock harem routes you have too choose specific routes for each girl and that means missing other routes unless you play game from beginning, we need time travel ability in game. HERE İS MAIN problems: inconsistent art during sex scenes , you can't tell which blonde you are fucking, not a single decend animated content. This 2025 . We need animated sex scenes. Instead of adding new routes and new girls, start animating and updating sex scenes. Single animated vanilla sex is worth more than 100 of BDS scenes in this game .( There is 1 or 2 half baked animated scenes in the game)

For the type of game it's intended to be it definitely deserves a 5 star rating. Haven't seen a better one of it's kind.

Besides the ocasional oddly drawn scene there's really nothing that stands out badly in the game imo.

i really like the game but it isnt perfect. My main issue is that there are no queer options for the male main character. Like just having an optional trans romance option or a male option would make this a 5 star review for me. I would love a game like this with more of a queer focus.

I keep coming back to this game. If you haven't played it then there is a wealth of content to explore. Not every storyline is finished, but almost all of them are expansive at this point. There is a seriously enormous amount of content, and you can have multiple playthroughs with little overlap.

It's engaging, the art is good if you like the style, the writing is good, the characters are fleshed out with distinct personalities, choices matter, and it's just overall a good experience playing it. Highly recommend.

This game has a charm that keeps me coming back! If you like games along the lines of Summertime saga or Taffy Tales you might like this as well. There are many characters that you interact with that all have fairly unique personalities. You have the options to ignore or fall in love with almost all of them, there are a couple you are required to interact with as you live with them or work with them and they are a part of the loose story. Each girl you meet and interact with adds her own aspect to your story. Can you navigate your way through the tangled web of relationships you create with each character?

Game has a lot of positives going for it, with interesting characters, lots of content, lots of things it caters to. Also has nice art that I personally like.

It's quite grindy, but you can just skip that with console commands.

There's a big however though. And that's the absolute lack of clarity on what to do. As of now, it is borderline unplayable without having to alt+tab into the wiki every 5 seconds and trying to find what the condition is that you have to trigger.

I think it urgently needs some kind of simplified option - where it gives you an in-game scene guide, or it needs a good integrated walkthrough mod.

Just something where you can select a character route and it'll give you a progress hint

Still, it would be in bad faith to de-rank the game for that flaw alone, simply based on how much work went into it. If that gets fixed, it'll be an awesome game.

Artwork/Animations - 5/5

So this game doesn't have animations, but that's fine. The artwork more than makes up for it. There are so many scene options in this game, it makes my head spin. How the dev keeps up with all of it is a mystery to me. But anyways, there's scenes for all flavors, and you can (if you play correctly) avoid what you don't want.

Storyline/Dialogue - 5/5

It's the story of life - what can I say? Dude (or check, if you play Bree) is just trying to live his(her) life, and let's laid in the process. I'm down to live vicariously through Mike (the male MC). :3 The dialogue is fantastic! Very well proofread, and very few mistakes (might be some super small ones, but in the grand scheme, hardly noticeable). I think my biggest ask/issue right now is for any sex slave in game right now, even when you ask your girl to stop calling you Master, in a lot of cases they still do. Not the biggest issue, but one I notice and would like to see fixed. Very minor gripe on my part and, again, small in comparison to how well the game is written.

Gameplay/UI - 10/5

Okay, where to start? This game is an absolute triggerfest, but to me, in a good way. Basically what I mean is, for certain things to happen, certain other things have to take place (i.e. you or girl have to be in the right place, at the right time, and certain things have to have taken place first). There's stat building, and variables you need to upkeep. I will say that if you do not have any patience, this game may not be right for you, because you do need to know what you want out of it. But if you're willing to put in the time and effort (like in real life!), this game is super rewarding. The dev made a really amazing gameplay system here, and they are also very quick with bug fixes.

Overall, I absolutely love this game. It has every tag I love, allows me to avoid tags I don't love, and is just an overall joy to experience. I highly, HIGHLY encourage people to give it a try.

The game's sole positive is its cast of characters that are unique in both appearance and personality.

Its negatives are countless others; the player's inability to provide any input onto these characters, the extremely buggy nature of the game that often renders its already-obtuse questlines nonfunctional, and the extremely slow development speed of the game which will never be able to solve any of its problems.
